This place was recommended to me by a friend, and I can’t thank her enough because it was close to my house and my time was running out… Pinar is a busy woman you can tell, but she paid me and my wedding dress just the amount of attention I needed. It’s so hard to give her only 3 stars as I wanted to give her 4, but I will explain; I was a lucky bride to be, because my ‘perfect, first to try on’ dress fit me quite well right off the rack. However, it was such a delicate lace with gorgeous beadwork throughout that I had to seek professional help to some of the areas that had loose threading. It was going to be difficult but the price and time Pinar quoted me was outstanding! She even took the straps in a bit to give me a better fit. So there’s where I want to give her the higher rating. Now fast forward to day of the wedding, everything is going well, I’m not crazy bridezilla woman or anything but it was less than ideal when beads started to fall off as I put the dress on. I was assured it wasn’t noticeable, and it really wasn’t but to hear that as your hours away from the ‘big moment’ was where I had to dial her rating back. I should have taken it back to see if it could be fixed again but I didn’t and now I live out of state. It pains me now to see it because I doubt it can be fixed.

Pinar is an absolute genuis. She understands European couture and can reconstruct a garment to create the dress of your dreams. She worked wonders on my wedding dress — I was thrilled with the results, and with her ability to knock it out in less than a week. I found her by Googling«best tailor in Los Angeles» and reading this article from the LA Times:

Pinar at P& J is great! She altered my wedding dress in under a week and at a reasonable price. When one of my friends was getting married recently, I was her maid of honor and also helping her with her dress shopping. She found an amazing one-of-a-kind dress which was several sized too large for her. We talked to several tailors who quoted exorbitant prices because the dress was put together in a way that was going to be time consuming and complicated to take apart to make the alterations, plus we were told it would take a lot more time than we had. We tried Pinar, and she did a fabulous job for a reasonable price in just a few weeks. I went with the bride to try it on and she was thrilled with it. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it is always extremely hot in the shop, which is a negative when you’re in a small dressing room trying things on. But other than that, everything was great — price, timeframe, customer service, and the final results.
