I really didn’t know what to expect on my first visit but I was very pleased with both the food and service. My pizza was perfect on a thin crust and ready in about 10 minutes! I got the Sunshine with crumbled bacon and what I liked the most — it was not greasy in the slightest, I was a very clean pizza. I think Mod is about the 4 or 5 pizza place in Culver City now but I would have to rank it #1.

Good pizza. Is kind of a subway pizza style. The crust is very thin like a flatbread style You choose your sauce, toppings and glaze afterwards. For a fast food chain it was pretty good and inexpensive. I will come back for sure.

It might unfair to rate, but I did eat here during their first week of business. Things may have been not quite up to speed. MOD Pizza located on Venice Blvd near downtown Culver City is has lots competition. There is no shortage of pizza joints and Italian restaurants here. This place works similarly to others such as Blaze & Pieology with the Subway-style«pick your own ingredient» ordering system. Overall, what I had was pretty good. But I preferred the competition more. I do like that they offer Mexican Coke though! That’s a nice touch =D

Place murders any other competitor and get the caramelized pear tea and mix it with the raspberry lemonade ! 5⁄5 here !

Came by tonight, and brought my family and a friend we had regular pizza and salads, and I got to say the freshness of the food was great, pizza was cooked to my liking and my friend is now a customer, the employees are always friendly and helpful, and it’s always clean, the restaurant is hip and we loved the music.

INCONSISTENT. When this place opened a few months ago, I got really excited! I really wanted to like this place, I mean, it’s less than a block away, it’s got a pretty cool identity system and they have a rock theme. Unfortunately, this place suffers what I’ve found is something that’s plaguing restaurants and businesses more and more these days, inconsistency. One day it’s pretty good. The next time it’s not so good. The time after that it’s just okay. I’ve eaten here a total of 5 times and tonight was definitely the last time I’ll eat here. The pizza was undercooked, the crust was soft, soggy and overall it made for a very gross pizza. The Good: –The staff are friendly –Clean, cool interior –Reasonable price –Sometimes the pizza is good The Bad: –Sometimes the pizza is not good –Crust can be stale or too soft(undercooked) –Thy really skimp on toppings until you ask for«more, no more, more than that, yes, more.» This place is new but I’ve given it a fair chance. With so many pizza joints in L.A. they need way more quality control here. It’s ok, because 2⁄5 times it was good, but the other 3 times were pretty disappointing. Pizza Mod, stop trying so hard to be cool and focus more on making quality pies, every single time.

Wanted to see if this place was similar to Blaze Pizza… Quite frankly, it’s the same thing. Same toppings, same meats, same design & both businesses are clean with friendly staff. Their pizza crust is my only complaint. Kind of dry and flavorless. Toppings were good and I would come here again. For the price you pay, it’s a better deal than Domino’s. I feel like the quality is better as well. But if I had to choose a winner between MOD& Blaze, I’d have to give a slight advantage to Blaze. PS. I was debating a salad but those romain was discolored. If you’re gonna display your lettuces, make sure they’re fresh!!! Staff was so friendly!

Nice staff, quick service, friendly, and food is great. For about $ 8 you get to build your own pizza. Tip: if you want more of something, you have to let them know. They have salads and also smaller pizzas. The small pizzas are really small so not worth the money in my opinion. Buy a $ 50 gift card and get a free pizza. I would stock up on them just for that deal. Parking is easy. Private lot and always can find something.

Its been a minute since I made a review, however, this place is incredible. Major flavor difference between them and blaze. The dough from Mod pizza tastes fresher than the competition. This place takes me back to what straw hat pizza used to be like in the mid 90s. The red lemonade was a little too sweet though. The lemonade makes an Arizona beverage look like Vitamin Water.

I decided to give this spot another try and learned it’s better to come in and order the pizza in person. The service was so quick and didn’t realize how many toppings they provided. Probably waited less than 10 minutes(with no one in line) to get the pizza which tasted great. I also ordered the garlic sticks which were alright(probably wouldn’t order them again). Fun spot to check out in Palms.

This review really should be dedicated to the caramelized pear iced tea! It is life changing! I usually get iced tea when I go out and I thought this tea would be super sweet and really it wasn’t… It’s like naturally sweetened and not all sugary like sweet tea. So A+++ on that! Moving on– always super upbeat people working! This was my second time coming here and the only MODS I have been to. Totally a great value and quality is awesome and better bang for your buck that Pieology or Pizza Rev. Not a lon wait time at all! They could use a bigger facility and more booths cause they only have three and then the rest two seater high tables or bar facing window seating. No complaints though!

Stopped here because I was craving another company’s similar style pizza. I have to say, I liked this place SOMUCHMORE than those other guy’s chain of stores. First off, the service was really great. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people made our pizzas. I have am allergy so they took extra time to answer my questions and ensure my food was safe to eat. The ingredients looked wonderfully fresh(except for the salami which I didn’t get, it didn’t look appetizing as the rest of the selections). The best part? I asked for a little more cheese and didn’t get attitude like you do at Blaze. I had mixed white and red sauce, Hawaiian style, with both fresh and roasted garlic-yum! My friend had an Italian meats(minus salami) pizza. I love their unique toppings, they have a fig balsamic glaze that’s excellent. Oh! And the caramel pear tea should be tried by every human alive, so good. Will be back for sure. Often.

This past Wednesday afternoon was a great experience at MOD Pizza! I’ve never heard of this place before but I knew it was like Blaze Pizza so I wanted to try it out. What’s cool is that you can put as many toppings as you want and you just pay for the sides of your pizza. I got a pepperoni pizza with grilled chicken, bacon, and cilantro and it was bomb! Can’t wait to go back and try something different. The employee Kimani really helped me decide what I wanted for my first pizza so I’ll definitely come back again for the great customer service. and obviously the food :)

So I’m a bit of a pizza princess and have been to a lot of these build-your-own shops that have been opening up such as Blaze and Pieology… but I have to say that MOD exceeded my expectations. I usually don’t opt for the premade topping combinations offered by the shops, but the Lucy Sunshine really caught my eye! Kimani was super helpful in assisting me as I wanted to add chicken to the pizza and it was no problem at all. What sets this chain above its competitors is the customer service. I wasn’t expecting much as most employees just want to keep the line moving, but Kimani took his time and made sure I was happy with the outcome of my pizza. I’ll definitely be back and will be bringing my friends with me.

This is my new favorite pizza. MYO pizza at its best. Employees are attractive and friendly. $ 10 for a meal that is this good is rare. I can’t wait to get paid and go again and again. I’ve told 20 people about this place. It’s that good.

Well, on the plus side, the pizza was pretty good, not counting the toppings. On the downside, we got the wrong pizza. My husband was going to be passing by at dinner time, and we had received a card in the mail for a free pizza so I asked him to bring one home. We had our mouths all set for some mushrooms and a bit of sausage, and instead had Brussels sprouts, brocolli, green peppers… not our favorite pizza toppings! The parchment underneath the pizza had my husband’s name on it, and the toppings he had requested, so the person who took it from the oven put it on the wrong parchment and my husband did not notice. So watch carefully that you get the pizza you ordered, and all should be fine.

I am downgrading based on my second visit. Light on the toppings and when they were making-it, I went to the rest-room and someone accidentally had a mix-up and took my pizza, so had to restart everything. As I was dining, there was a homeless guy sitting at a table, wasn’t really bothering anyone and one of the worker’s said to him in front of everyone that only guests were welcomed there. This briefly set him off and a shouting match proceeded. Could have been handled more discretely.

This is a decent place. It’s pretty much what you should expect from a build-your-own pizza place, with one notable exception: The service is fantastic. I was greeted at the door by the entire kitchen staff, mad pleasant conversation with the people behind the counter, and my pie was delivered with a smile. I wish I had gone to middle school with all of the people that work here, just so I could make them mix tapes to proclaim my love for them. And then, after they reject me I could pretend that I don’t know what they’re talking about and tell them that I just thought they would like those songs. And they’re so sweet that they would pretend to believe me, even though they don’t.

MOD Pizza in the 90034 had a sneak peek day today to help train new employees before the official grand opening this week. Overall, the pizza and service were great, even while they were working out a few kinks. I hope Palms is excited because they’re getting a really great, quick service, «made on demand» pizza place where that random yogurt spot used to sit near Albertsons and CVS. With just enough hipsterness, MOD is breathing some much needed life into an otherwise pretty dated shopping center in good olé’ Palms. Similar to Blaze Pizza in Culver City(and well, the other MOD locations), at MOD, you choose a pizza size + any toppings you want and get a fresh, made to order personal pizza within a few minutes. Where Blaze is kind of like the Subway for pizza, MOD is a little more like the Jersey Mike’s. The interior is a little more hip, cleaner, but most importantly, the pizza is a little better. MOD seemed to take a little bit longer than Blaze, but they were also training today and ironing out inefficiencies along the way. Our pizzas were cooked perfectly, even when I added 12 different toppings to my pie. The crust is soft with a nice saltiness. They also have a bunch of tipping sauces for your crusts if you’re the dipping type. My pizza could have used a little more cheese, but that’s on me. I should have asked for more! For the medium MOD-sized personal pizza, you’ll pay about $ 8ish. Like The Counter, you can order set menu items or choose your own toppings. They also have milkshakes that are pretty decent — better than McDonald’s, but not quite ready to take down In n Out on the shake front. If you’re planning to check out the new location with a group, I’d limit it to around 4 people. There’s some seating inside, but limited options for big groups. Since«Made on Demand» pizza is still kind of a novel thing, this is a pretty cool, inexpensive place to take a friend from out of town. Overall, our experience at MOD’s sneak peek day was great. MOD’s pizza was delicious, staff was friendly, and interior is really well done. MOD deserves to quickly become one of the most popular pizza spots in the area. Two things I’d improve about the MOD90034 location: — Turn down the A/C a little(it was crazy cold inside, but maybe they were stress testing the A/C) — Get boba straws for the milkshakes! When you get cookie dough, it’s impossible to get to your cookie dough with the regular straws.
