I didn’t even get my food. I ordered through and after following up with the the restaurant an hour later the person was rude and states no order was placed and he did not have time for me. He said my order wasn’t his problem and not to continue calling. When called me a few moments later they expressed the restaurant had not confirmed the order and therefore they would be cancelling my delivery on my behalf.

Great, authentic Mexican food. We bought a jar of the homemade salsa. Kind of smokey with a slow mild spicy finish. The owner took the order, served the food, cashed us out and sold us the jar of his secret recipe salsa. They do a thriving delivery and take out business.

The bomb! It’s a small joint but we love ordering from there. Their tacos are a good size, not the small tortilla like others and I believe the tortilla is made my hand. Amazing! Their chilaquiles are also delish!

CASHONLY — ATMONSITE It is the outside patio area that needs upgrades. I know that it is in a weird part of town… but it needs a little work to at least keep the sun from beating down on you. Grab a couple of decent chairs and tables. Get someone to level out the cement… I mean it needs work. The food itself is not bad at all. The servings are small in terms of rice and beans. The potato tacos are okay. A family friend had the food catered before and it was very very good according to her. The food is not the issue really.

So my coworker and I were looking for seafood and ended up having huaraches and pupusas instead. I know weird right. So the huarache de Al Pastor was very thin but a good size, the Al Pastor meat wasn’t the best, on one bite there was some fat on it. The pupusa de queso by far was a delight. Large piece of cheese heaven. The delivery guy was across the street while I waited at my building lobby. Used Delivery dot com and took about one and a half hours to get our food. Wish the food tasted better but the meat quality wasn’t. Unfortunately I am not sold on this place yet. Will try something else in the future.

Lunch after shopping at Moskatels. THEAMBIANCE: Las Amigas is a small hole-in-the-wall Mexican food spot. Their menu is pretty extensive. There is no «inside» seating but there is a patio on the side with a roof and tables. If it is raining or a cold day, bring a jacket because you will feel everything! THEFOOD: I asked the man that served us what he recommended and he said the chile rellenos were popular. I thought the chile rellenos were between okay and good. They cleaned the chile out well and I didn’t get a surprise spicy seed, which was a plus. I also liked the batter. The chile rellenos platter comes with beans, rice, and a small salad. There is a red homemade sauce that people talk about(«salsa de aceite») so we requested it. My friend tried it and she said it was really spicy but that she liked it. THETIPS: Cash only. They provide an ATM. Street parking.

Placed my order online. 20 min later, I receive a phone call from a weird number from FL and the man on the phone told me that my order was canceled because no one opened the door on delivery. Like really? What is the purpose of adding special instructions when ordering online if they are not going to be followed. I specifically added my phone number and asked that they would call me upon delivery for a reason. Our building is not open to public. This is why I left these instructions. Anyway since I still had hopes and tried calling the restaurant multiple times but no one answered the phone. It has been over an hour now, and no one from the restaurant has called… Tip– If you’re not going to follow directions on online orders then don’t have an option for customers to add special requests. –

This place is a great«hole in the wall»! Saw their sign of handmade tortillas and we were sold. We ordered machaca con huevo and a birria plate. The food was delicious and the handmade tortillas and salsa were great as well. The aguas frescas were refreshing and not too sweet. The salsa was a perfect combination of spicy & smokey. Outdoor seating only but in the shade. Perfect lunch spot when shopping for fabrics or flowers. Very nice people and great service!

Best menudo in LA. Feels like you’re in an alleyway in TJ. Worth every treacherous step through the flower district back streets.

WARNING!!! PRICESARENOTWHATISPRINTEDONMENU!!! HONESTYISTHEBESTPOLICY, NOTSTEALINGBYOVERCHARGING!!! I put this as a positive revue because that’s what everyone looks for when looking up a place to eat. This was my first time there after eating a young kid comes to the table out of nowhere and tell’s me the amount of my order I said can I get a receipt with that please because I notice the price he told me was not what I had calculated while I was ordering, He brings a calculator receipt and it is different amounts that were stated on the menu I went to let this man at the counter know(maybe the owner) that their was a difference in prices compared to the menu, he pointed out that his prices can change without notice, he told me that meat prices have went up my order did not contain meat I ordered 2 chiliquiles and 2 drinks. He was rude telling me he cannot print new menus every time the prices go up, I told him that the waiter could have brought that to my attention while I was ordering that would have been no problem. the problem is not giving a paying customer the bill when it’s time to pay or a receipt after you pay. that’s a way to scam a paying customer, be honest mister it wont hurt. change the prices with some white out on your menu and update your prices it’s not right to take from a paying customer without them knowing I’m sure they would still eat there. Honesty is the best policy stealing by overcharging is not! I put this as a positive revue because that’s what everyone looks for when looking up a place to eat.

When I first came here I thought to myself WHY am I in the middle of nowhere trying this place out. BUT I’m glad I did. I got their steak plate with the tortillas and oh man it was pretty amazing with that chill oil sauce. It doesn’t hurt they make FRESH tortillas! Try it you wont be disappointed.

My husband loved everything we ordered but I’m very picky, I didn’t like the menudo. I’ll stick to the menudo at Los tres cochinitos or Ordoñez

I woke up CRAVING menudo! rolled over in bed grabbed my phone and thats when the food gods pointed me to Las Amigas. DELICIOUS. This is the type of spot Anthony Bordain would enjoy. The food, the people, the flavors, and environment, all down to earth authentic. Homemade tortillas, menudo, the fixings and a coke! What more do we need in life???

I placed a lunch order with them through Unilocal. It did take them them about 30 minutes longer than it was supposed to. Not sure if it was their fault, or if it had to do with delays in the online ordering system. regardless it was supposed to be ready at 12;45 but was not ready till 1:15. I recommend giving them plenty of time if you phone in or order online. Good homemade food sometimes takes a while. When it comes to the food, everyone was happy. It was hot, fresh and delicious. Even though lunch was 30 minutes late everyone was happy and gave many compliments to the food.(also to the person who chose the place, ME :) I had the beef fajitas which were cooked perfectly, a little smaller than what you normally expect from fajitas, but for being $ 6 you wont here any complaints from me. The tortillas are hand made, very tasty and fresh. I would definitely come back if I am ever in the area.

Wow this place is a hidden gem. Buried next to a ton of flower shops is this awesome Mexican restaurant. First off their salsa is so good that they sell is separately if you want to take some home. Second the tacos are really great. I order one chicken, one asada and one el pastor. Each one was better than the last. My gf got enchiladas and they were also really good. Eat here it is worth your time and money.

If you are down for some authentic bomb mexican food in downtown la… This is the place to be. It’s right in the middle of flower district and a couple of blocks from skid row. It’s the last place I’d expect a good mexican restaurant. Hungover? Try their menudo. In the mood for breakfast? Can’t go wrong with their huevos con machacas. They hand make their tortillas and that’s an extra brownie point for me. Bring some cash handy cause they don’t accept card.

I am proud to say that we heard about this place through good ol’ fashion word of mouth and we were very happy as we were not lead astray. Starving while waiting for our flower appointment, we roamed the streets looking for something good to eat(we didnt want to wander too much as skid row is nearby). Bookmarked Unilocal restaurants were not walking distance and I refused to leave the parking lot I just paid $ 6 for. We resorted to asking a flower vendor… «Tengo hambre! Donde esta comida deliciousa?» We were handed a business card and were pointed towards the right direction. Los Amigos is the kind of restaurant you go to solely for the food. We didn’t know what to expect from a restaurant that appeared to be closed. There is no indoor dining area, only covered outdoor patio which, although old, appeared clean. We were told to be seated and someone would take our order. The only time you see anyone is at the beginning to take your order and at the end to give you your check. We were ok with that. Prices are great and there are very many menu options. Food tastes fresh and we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything tasted. Not oily and portions just right. Didn’t make me run to the bathroom either. A lot of patrons dining but not staying very long. We had sopes, a mulita, and pupusa and all were delicious. Each dish came out with different salsas — yes! The maza was not dense at all and the tortillas were really good as well. Simple and basic ingredients done right. Meats were tasty. My fave was the al pastor. I always ask for extra onion and cilantro. They also serve a salsa de arbol– chili oil made from chilis from the chef/owners own garden. The chef/restaurant owner told us he has been working on getting his product patented but it wasn’t something he could afford right now. We were told by two different patrons while we were dining that they drive out just to pick up a refill on their salsa de arbol. We bought some for $ 5 and put it on just about anything. My mom has gone back for a refill of salsa de arbol too. If I had the money, I would invest in his chili oil! Until then, I’ll just enjoy eating his food. Just be weary of your surroundings and walk with a purpose, visit before the sun sets(they close daily at 4pm) and when it is bright outside. Those who don’t consider themselves adventurous might feel safer by bringing someone else.

Ran across this little place while in the Flower District. Got two carne asada tacos, they were ok, meat was a little dry, and salsa was not hot enough and bland. Only outdoor seating, nothing fancy about this place. Not the friendliest of bunch. The only thing the guy said to me was to tell me how much it was. Meh.
