I really wanted to like this place as I’ve been looking for good Chinese food. The worker was nice and informative. The food was a little different than I’m used to. We got three family meals which was a lot of food but nothing I’d want to eat again. It’s located in the Vons plaza right near the Starbucks. It was alright, a little disappointing. I’ve just been spoiled by 626 food.

This place is pretty good… I always get the war wonton soup w/steamed chicken dumplings and I have yet to be dissatisfied. An additional plus is the prices… Delivery is always extremely fast, I get my food within 20 mins of ordering and that’s with delivery!

I recently made a stop at this restaurant. I had the Vegetable Noodle Soup, Vegetable Egg Rolls, and some tea. The soup was good(it was very subtle in taste, but not bland). The egg rolls were fine(nice and crispy). The tea was tasty with a bit of sugar(but very hot upon serving). The only thing I didn’t like is that the waitress didn’t understand me when I’d been ordering the food. I had asked her what vegetarian-options they had, and she started mentioning chicken and pork.

The price is awesome! Tastes good to me! So far I order out from them so any ambiance issues are null and void. I had a great chat with a regular there on what’s good. So far love the fried rice, dumplings, and orange chicken. Maybe chatting with a pleasant patron has given this place a great aura, but the employees were really nice when I was there. Via phone they always let you know what dish they like and are very polite :-). I appreciate a warm welcome in any facility and they did that. The restaurant itself looks acceptable. So far so good.

The food here is nothing special. At the very least you get good quantity for what you order. I would never see this restaurant as a destination so much as a place to eat out of convenience.

Ugh. Why? This place shouldn’t even have«Canton» in its name because then you might expect Cantonese food. This is one of the most watered down, Americanized places I have ever been to. Aside from that, though, the food is just flavorless. I guess you’re just supposed to add all that commercial crispy noodles and neon sweet and sour sauce they put out on every table to ~kick it up a notch.

I ordered take out from here and had the vegetable chow fun, and a beef and veggie dish. It was pretty standard for Cantonese food. The next time I get a craving for greasy chow fun, I’ll order from here.

Food is great. Always order Mongolian Beef with extra garlic and haven’t been disappointed. Only problem is cleanliness. The noodles you eat aren’t fresh and have already been eaten by other customers. Once I dropped a napkin and found Chewing Gum Heaven under my table. It’s cheesy, but who cares? It’s good. Overall, food doesn’t disappoint, but cleanliness does.

«Eh…“is the best way to describe this place. The atmosphere was „Eh,“ the price was „Eh“ and the food was definitely „Eh.“ The only thing that wasn’t „Eh“ was the service. My order was prepared quickly and brought to me by a friendly server. Flavor seems to be an afterthought here, as in after you leave the chefs discuss… „Perhaps we should add a bit of flavor to our meals?“ But then they will collectively decide…“Eh» Would I recommend this place…“Eh…”

This place is old school. O.L.D. S.C.H.O.O.L I mean how many Chinese places still serve the little fried noodles with sweet and sour sauce? Remember those? Or, um… am I kind of giving my age away here lol… Try the family style dinner specials. A lot of the usual Chinese dishes are found here. They are filling and aren’t expensive. The food is pretty good. It’s not out of this world good but it goes down well since it’s got the right price! Oh, and like someone mentioned they are better than Panda Express! My only complaint is that when I came the paper wrapped chicken was too dry and burnt. Come to think of it I really don’t like the paper wrapped chicken. Service is unremarkable and so is the décor. They share a large parking lot with a supermarket so parking is a breeze! It’s the decent enough food and value that makes me a fan here! Four stars!

Hit or miss on specific items keeps me from giving them a higher rating. Spring rolls have been beyond inedible twice(we no longer order) but the spinach wonton soup has always been good as well as most basic chicken dishes. Service is awkward and basic. The décor needs some serious TLC as well as the furnishings.

Is it cheap? Yes. Is it edible? Kinda. Look, this place is just like so many other sub-par«Cantonese» eateries around West LA – it has a huge menu with a number of options, not a single one of them done to perfection. When I asked for the Kung Pao to be extra spicy, it was extra lame… No spice, whatsoever. The Chicken Chow Mein was greasy and overcooked. The Beef and Broccoli was borderline inedible; the beef was so chewy that I wondered, «What the hell cut of meat IS this?!?». The crispy orange beef was decent, but the next day, it was a nightmare as leftovers. The BBQ Pork appetizer didn’t come with sesame seeds(which I think is a nice touch in many places) and it was completely inconsistent – some pieces were tough and chewy, the others were tender but all was flavorless. The cashew chicken came with peanuts… Ooooookaaaay. This place, like many others, poses the question, «Why have a huge menu when you can’t even nail ONE dish?» I’m not gong to slam ‘em with one star, because I’m sure the cheap and desperate can get a full meal here and live to see the next day. Maybe I’m getting soft in my old age. Two stars… Barely.

Good typical hong kong style. Generous portions. Super cheap lunch specials. Friendly fast service. Not the cleanest with very old, outdated décor. Not for fussy people. Not much atmosphere. Hop woo on the corner of olympic and sepulveda has better food and atmosphere although more expensive.

This place is BOMB! Better than Panda Express. I ordered the Shrimp Chow Mein, Orange chicken, vegetable fried rice TO-GO. $ 24ish. But well worth. They even throw in free steamed rice&fortune cookies. Everything was delicous except the fried rice, it was just really dark colored. Manager is funny, but not that patient. Great experience over all You can even call in to pick up!

Came here yesterday for a cheap lunch special and have to say I was truly disappointed! Yes, it’s cheap. Is the food good? No. I ordered the Szechwan chicken. It did come with a big portion of rice. I’d say ¾ of it was rice and the other ¼ was vegetables and the sauce along with 3 pieces of chicken. The chicken was extremely bland. The rice(for sure) was from the day before. I walked in at 11am right when they opened. You could definitely tell that the rice was not made that day. The egg roll tasted okay. The egg soup was alright as well. I guess in the end you get what you pay for(all $ 7). Bummer! I won’t be going back there again.

Greeted with«how many?» upon entrance was not a very warm welcome, but the made-to-order chicken dumplings may just keep me coming back for years. The food is a 3.5, dumplings are a 4.5, décor is a 2.0, and service was terrific(4.0) after my «1 please» response. Overall, it’s a strong 3. 1. They offer the dumplings in 2 ways, fried and steamed. Normally fried potstickers(aka«gyoza») kick ass like Bruce Lee, however here at K & A, it’s the steamed ones that I prefer. Totally in-house made, the dough is slightly inconsistent in thickness all-around. Why do I like that? It’s not from a machine, and best yet — it’s not frozen, and it’s the real thing. The chicken inside is also wonderfully fresh… so when steamed I totally appreciated everything about it($ 5.25÷8). Whereas, with the fried ones($ 6.25÷8), the oil really takes on as predominant flavor, and I would say resembles closer to a Pierogi(which I love, too). Just a note: they only offer chicken… no pork, no beef, and no veggie. 2. The fried shrimp appetizer($ 5.95) was awesome. Fresh(not frozen, see the theme here), large, butterflied and fried-up. 8 in all, and 8 down the chute. No issue there. 3. It’s me, not them. I didn’t care for the Mongolian Beef($ 8.95). Small and thin pieces, cooked medium temp and simply mixed with white and green onion, and tossed in a semi-sweet sauce. It’s just not my thing. When I asked to see if they could crisp it up, they were so nice to offer another dish instead, Tangerine Beef. 4. The Tangerine Beef($ 9.75) was how anyone wants it, crisp, large portion, and with good essence of tangerine orange flavor, without being too sweet. While it’s not the best I’ve ever had, I would order it again. Needless to say, with all the above — I had leftovers for lunch, midnight snacking, and/or both for days. This is a solid choice for Chinese food with super easy and plentiful parking in the Vons Shopping Center. The price point is low for the fresh ingredients used. While I wouldn’t drive miles and miles to come here, it’s perfect for all the surrounding neighborhoods, delivery or otherwise. Décor needs a bit of an update from the 80’s. Decorative silk plants hung everywhere, are just dust collectors. Add a little color, a little music, and shazam.
