I found this place following a grueling workout that had me craving tacos. None of my normal spots seemed appealing, so I decided to check this place out… And I was not disappointed! I ordered carne asada tacos and an asada sope. The meat was cooked well, not tough like many other taco spots and was full of flavor. The salsa on the tacos was also a nice touch. Now, for the sope! It was perfectly fried and was generously topped with beans, meat, lettuce, cheese and that yummy guacamole sauce. I tried one bite and couldn’t stop eating. Before I knew it, it was all gone, and I was sad. Needless to say, I will be back! Good prices, great food and fast service!

Ordered the 3 combination plate. I got 1 chicken and two carne asada tacos. The plate also came with rice and beans, salad, and a few chips. Chicken and carne asada had no real flavor. Beans were good. Rice too salty. The tomatoes on salad were almost frozen. Plate had a few chips which were not stake, didn’t seem fresh; they weren’t warm and good. Will likely not return.

*****UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT****** I read the great Unilocal reviews and thought I would give this place a try. Unfortunately, they have new owners. The girl at the register told me that they just took it over at the beginning of the month. So any review before November 2014 ***does not apply*** We ordered Chicken Flautus, 2 chicken sopes, chicken taco and a chicken burrito. In a word, Bland. The chicken was completely flavorless, the beans were bad and the rice was like something you could have made from a box. To make matter worse I ordered Flautas but when I got home and opened the box they gave me Taquitos(I guess they thought I wouldn’t know the difference). The staff was nice but I will never go back.

This place is great I walked in for a agua fresca & decided to get something to eat. I ordered the flautas & they were amazing the guacamole sauce on them was so delicious! I got my food super quick & the owner was friendly.

I was excited to see a Mexican food place open up really close to my house. It is indeed a «hole in the wall» spot in a small strip mall on Nordhoff street, but it is worth it. I had carne asada tacos and an agua fresca. The tacos were tasty, and full of flavor. I waited for him to finish making the agua frescas which was made with pineapple and papaya and it was worth the wait! Can’t wait to try more from here. Down side of this place is you can see the through the glass display case that is being used as a fridge and signs are all over the place and some are hand written on poster board paper.

We found this new little hole in the wall and so far, the food has been consistently very good. The owner, Joe, seems like a very nice guy. I’ve had the chicken enchiladas(w/green sauce) combo and it was delicious. I’ve also had the taco combo(both soft and fried shell) and they, too, were very good. The food seemed very fresh and it was quite tasty. Definitely coming back.

I stopped by the other day to grab a quick take-out lunch. The service was great and they prepared the food super fast. I ordered a couple asada tacos and a watermelon juice for myself and an asada burrito for my coworker. Both of us really enjoyed our meals.

One of the best new taco joints around… awesome prices & the carne asada is some of the best in the valley…

Their 99 cent tacos are delicious, fresh ingredients and quickly made. The customer service is great, and parking was easily available. I will definitely be back again!

I had been quite depressed that Ari’s Pizza which used to occupy this space had closed, because I think it was easily the best Pizza in Los Angeles, but with this place being so near to where I live my wife and I decided to give a try and found a new favorite. It is in the little strip mall at Nordhoff and Woodley Ave, so there is good parking. The place is bright, with a nice new paint job and decent mayan décor and one questionable painting and sells a whole variety of Mexican food. The prices range from .99 for Tacos, $ 4.99 for a burrito and about $ 7 for Nachos. I am also looking forward to the Menudo that they have on Saturdays and Sundays. My wife and I tried 3 tacos, with hot sauce. Carne Asada, Lengua(tongue) and Chicken. All of which were delicious! The lengua was soft and tasty, and the carne asada had a wonderful flavor. I also had a carne asada burrito and it was mind-blowingly good. With a ton of other flavors in it. The beans were fantastic with garlic and probably lard, and there was some peas and spanish rice in there. THISISONEMYALLTIMEFAVORITEBURRITOS! And I love burritos! Damn was this good! The beans are the key! They are Amazing! Such flavor! We had the Nachos, which were the most expensive item we tried, but they were fantastic. Heaped with guacamole, sour cream, melted cheese, the tasty bean mix from my burrito, carne asada and a ton of jalapapenos. AWESOME! I recently had the Huevos Rancheros for breakfast, and damn was it tasty, especially with his new red hot oil sauce, which is well worth picking some up. I went from missing Ari’s Pizza, to having found an absolutely amazing new mexican place! One of my favorites in fact. We will certainly be eating here again, as it is delicious and awesome and quite reasonably priced! GREAT! *** THEHORROR! Joe’s is now UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT, listed as COMIDAMEXICANA on a cloth sign next to the old one, and has a completely new menu. And the worst part is it is not nearly as good. It is now a typical Mexican place, and the meat, hot sauce and especially those awesome beans are all gone! SAYITISN’T SO! WITHTHENEWMENU, THISPLACEISATBEST2STARS. It is clean and the staff was nice, but the food was average at best, and really not worth it. Ordering was difficult and they screwed up my wife’s tacos, giving her 2 soft instead of one hard and soft, and I had to explain 3 times that I wanted the burrito and taco, which is the first item on the menu(a combo plate, though not listed as that), and not just a burrito and a taco. The worst part was the awful pale and bland beans! Nothing like the amazing old beans, which I loved so much. And it came with some lettuce with dressing, which was tasteless and useless. What a let down. Skip this place!
