My mom became barista-certified to volunteer here from Sungsam Catholic Church, and she’s told me all about what the donations have been used for: All of the money raised was used to help people in Sudan, Cambodia, 3 – 4 African countries, and helped fund surgery for 100 cleft lip patients. One of the most memorable things they did this past year(2015) was to build a factory in Cambodia where people with no arms or legs could work and make clothes and necklaces of Jesus they can sell for profit. All of the equipment in the factory is tailored for people who have physical disabilities. Please visit often and make donations to help the volunteers and leading priest serve more people with needs!

You wouldn’t even know this was a café until you began looking like a lost child in a grocery store because that’s what happened to me. I was literally walking in circles wondering which house was the café until I decided to read a sign that said«Ignatius Café» and someone directed me in. Ignatius Café is a house converted into a café that serves as a quiet study spot with coffee. Situated behind hedges and set up beautifully, you forget that you’re in the busy streets of LA and USC. You can study inside the café or outside while listening to peaceful music. You don’t pay for coffee per se, rather they ask for a donation of $ 3. Whatever you do, PLEASE donate that $ 3 because the ladies who work here are some of the sweetest people ever and the coffee is pretty good too. So if you ever find yourself tired of studying at Leavey Library or at home or just want to relax for a while, give Ignatius Café a shot.

Woo! Coffee shop in the back of St. Agnes church !! It’s cute little place with large quiet patio with a perfect sunlight and cool breeze I got the hand drip coffee but the ice lemon juice is great too! Most of the employees are there as volunteer from the Catholic Church which I attend …

Really cool, hidden spot. Very limited menu. I really enjoyed my hot lemon drink. There was construction going on at the building that shares the same entry way as this place. That was a huge distraction. The indoor seating is very limited and was popular on my visit. There were quite a few options for outside but the noise was a big issue.

Serene spot supporting the community through its operations. Love the concept. Love the garden and quiet relaxed atmosphere even more. It’s a great spot for a quiet catch up or to do some catching up on work. A hidden gem near USC! Come through!

This place has a wonderful atmosphere. Easily one of the best that I’ve come across at any coffee shop. There plentiful seating with intimate and more open spaces. It’s a lovely place to meet someone or to study. As a coffee shop, however, this place falls short. The espresso they pulled for my latte was very sour making my drink nearly undrinkable. I would not go here if you were looking for a quality cup of coffee. In spite of that, I’m happy I spent three dollars on my drink because it went for a good cause, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The coffee snob in me is the reason for the rating.

Such a beautiful place! Tons of seating(relaxed café vibe inside? or outside next to flowers? spot for yourself? group study time?), lots of greens and flowers, served by really nice ladies, fast guest wifi, and all donations goes to a good cause :) Favorite study spot off-campus of USC! Menu is simple(just americano, espresso, latte, and lemon tea), but each one done right and with a good heart.

Real talk. These people got it on going on. I don’t know what’s more amazing: their espresso or the fact that I refrained from using the F-word once in this review out of respect. They be on church property. Hard to find, but worth it, homies. I love you.

What a hidden gem! The coffee shop is set inside a home and there is outdoor seating in the front. It was a fabulous retreat from the hustle and bustle of DTLA. The ladies that work there hardly speak English but the coffee speaks for itself. A $ 3 donation is all they ask. I’ll definitely be back.

The coffee is great, I ordered the iced caffe latte. Added a little bit of Splenda when I got home, reason why I took it to go is because I had my son with me. He’s a year and a half. So he’s full of life and energy. This is not a place to bring a active kid around. Yes, there are seats outside… but even so there are people studying or having very intimate talks. It’s a very quiet and peaceful cafè.

This is a great, quiet spot in the big city that I visited with my student daughter. Other reviewers say most of what’s important but I’ll add that: — There are two-seat tables screened by hedges, and plenty of bigger tables for study sessions — There are more big tables around the back of the building although I’m not sure if they’re part of the café or the church. Same thing maybe? — There are seats inside, for a cold day, and on the covered deck — They only sell coffee. I don’t know how I missed this point from other reviews but eventually we had to go elsewhere for sugary snacks. Would help a person to keep a diet on track I guess! The ladies who run the café are very nice, and it’s for a good cause. Try it.

My favorite coffee shop in Los Angeles. It’s part of a church, so all donations go to the church. For $ 3, you can get a delicious cup of coffee. The outdoor seating area is the cutest patio I’ve ever seen. It should be in a home magazine. There’s a beautiful arch of vine that goes over most tables giving you the illusion that you are in an enchanted forest. There’s a small indoor seating area but it fills up pretty fast. Plenty of outdoor seating. The only downside is that there are no outlets outside.

An oasis! You will fall in love with the location. The coffee is good not the best but when you see the location you will come back again if you work or live near by. Its an escape. They roast their own beans. They don’t technically sell coffee but rather take donations for the coffee. They are good people.

What an amazing café! Drinks are $ 3 and they use the honor system when you pay(simply put your total into a little container they have laying out). Free WiFi Parking is free(one side is 2 hr parking between 9am-130pm on school days, street cleaning on one side on Thursdays 10−12pm) Lots of seating areas with umbrella shades Quiet(besides kids playing at school across the street during their breaks) NOT crowded Outlets mainly inside, a couple on the patio, none outside DOGFRIENDLY :)))))(assuming your dog is nice, quiet and well behaved) I brought my husky here and they loved her! Great place to study(: Also I think there’s rooms you can reserve upstairs if you have 3 or more people! Awesome.

Maaaaaaaan. I was hoping this place wouldn’t start getting crowded. I seriously LOVE this place. I used to live really close to it and on the days that the bf had school and I was off from work. This was the best place to go! From my experience, if I sit outside, they let my dog hang out with me too! Extra bonus brownie points for that too! Why do I live for far away from you now? D:

Coffee and lemon tea in a HOUSE PARKING: It’s located in Dana St. As soon as you turn right to Dana St. You can start looking for parking space since the whole block you can park in there for 2 hours for free. Sunday wasn’t bad, we see lots of space to park. PLACE: Clean, cozy, it has a feeling of a home. It’s at the back of the church and still property of the church. The third house is where you can get your coffee or tea. There is an indoor and outdoor sitting as well upstairs. All the room are converted to a study room which each room has limit of occupancy. There is plenty of bathroom upstairs and downstairs . Outside there is a beautiful garden and lots of sitting. Perfect for groups and couple. Lots of study area as well. With a cute swing in the corner. All the 3 houses has porch and you can all chill out and drink your coffee in there. When I check the upstairs I saw people having their business meeting with all their paper works. And a couple of groupies doing their thesis in the other room which has it’s own privacy. SERVICE: Pretty basic they gave you a buzzer when your order is ready. Service can be quick depends how busy it is. Nice Korean lady take your order and will ask you if you want syrup in your drink. They have paper as well that you can fill up for your order. Overall just drop your 3 dollars per drink in the counter. Although it’s donation they required 3 dollars per drink. FOOD: Coffee latte: It’s taste pretty good surprisingly better than you get in Starbucks or Tom toms around korea town. I believe they roast their own coffee bean thats why coffee has it’s beautiful flavor. Wether they serve it in cup or glass the barista design your coffee so cute. *bring your own food they only served drinks *sunday open only 1−9pm *monday to Friday 9am-9pm Saturday 9am to 5pm *clean your own table *a little gem of LA love it and I enjoy the atmosphere

4.9 stars! This is a hidden secret garden in the middle of a bustling and busy city! The atmosphere here is just like what everyone says: peaceful, relaxing and pleasant. Perfect for studying or for hanging out with friends. I’ve come here twice now and recommended others as well and they’ve all enjoyed this café too. There are plenty of seating options: indoors, outdoor on the balcony, out on the benches, or in the bush cubbies. So fun! The drinks are good though the menu is limited. And it’s just a $ 3 donation for the church. Tip: They don’t have any food/snacks on the menu so just bring your own if you’re planning to stick around to study for a long time.
