Haven’t gone to this place in ages … boy it’s gone downhill. Had Joe’s special. 3 eggs hash brown toast and bacon. Soooo blah. The coffee wasn’t good either. $ 13 down the drain

I ordered delivery from this place and they never came. Never heard a knock on my door or got a phone call. I was waiting patiently. When called to ask about the status of my order they were extremely rude about it. I don’t think I’ve ever had that rude of a service before. Really bad customer service

Most horrible customer service experience there!!! I place an order of a chicken club sandwich to go so that 27 mins later they tell me it’s been ready for 10 mins while I’ve been sitting right in front of the the entire time, to add on that they didn’t even make the right sandwich and tell me what I actually ordered(HOWAREYOUGOINGTOTELLMEWHAT I WANTTOEAT) by now I’m already late to work from my lunch when I work less than a block away mind you. I would never recommend this place to anyone and rate them a NEGATIVE5 stars if I could!

We came here for lunch. The food was good but probably pretty standard, I don’t really remember it too well(I had the salmon burger with curly fries). The service was really good; both of the people there were very nice and accommodating. I think the best part of the diner is the ambiance, it definitely has a classic American diner feel, which I really liked. I will probably come back for breakfast.

Pretty awful breakfast. Badly cooked bacon and eggs, too dry and no flavor, average everything else. Interior was nice.

I have only ordered breakfast from here and they did not disappoint! The delivery was prompt, less than 30 min. Their breakfast burritos are stuffed and cooked to perfection. Both their blueberry and banana pancakes were delicious! This place serves a solid breakfast!

This place is so consistent. Every time I go I’m greeted by the whole staff. By the time I order my food and sit down I don’t have to wait more than 5 mins to get my food. Great job guys. I appreciate al of you. Great price and fresh food.

Fast service, super nice workers and the food was as diner food should be… BESTPANCAKES! Coffee was fresh as well. I’d done here again, for sure!

The taste of the burger isn’t worth the grease – versus a place like Five Guys where it is. Mediocre fries cap off the experience. Service is good and prices are okay, but I won’t be back.

Westwood’s pride and joy. The best breakfast EVER! Would drive out of my way everyday to grab a breakfast burrito or Westwood omelette if I could. ALWAYS ask for extra salsa because it’s the !!! Staff is friendly and accommodating(with the exception of one of the brothers who frequently works at the register– he’s often grumpy). Avoid taking large groups here, just because the inside is small. It’s very hard to find a table for parties over 4. There’s always a line but it goes quick! If you’re on the run, call in your order. They’ll get it together right away.

$ 6 combo of sandwich, fries, and a soda after 5pm! I don’t know where else you can get this kind of value for the quality of food that is served here. It took me awhile to venture to this place because my friend had come once a few years ago and said that the morning food wasn’t that great. Although I cannot confirm or deny those allegations at this time, I will proudly promote the sandwiches they have at night! When we came on a Friday night, there was nobody else at the restaurant. Why, I honestly cannot imagine. The tuna avocado sandwich I had was absolutely sublime. The tuna didn’t taste like it was out of a can and the avocado had just the right amount of integrity. On top of that, the curly fries were a wonderful addition to the meal. That, plus a soda, put together one of the best tuna sandwich meals I have ever had. I honestly have to recommend this place for everyone to come try(after 5pm). The deal is just too good to pass, and the food just surpasses all my expectations for a $ 6 meal.

Headlines is our go-to brunch stop for hungover weekend soirees. It’s a large portion of greasy food that definitely does the job — that’s why we love it. Great price for the amount of food, I just wish they had better coffee/iced coffee. I usually go to Starbucks and bring over my iced coffee to eat my meal with. I love the large selection of breakfast burritos and omelettes — all of which have been satisfying. The interior is quite small and it’s difficult to fit any parties over four. Last time we were there, there was about 12 of us and we had to take over the entire bar as well as the back tables. Service is okay, food comes out quick, but there’s little to no interaction after that. Overall, one of the better(and cheapest) places to find solid brunch in Westwood. Try it out!

I’ve only ever been here for dinner, so be aware of that fact! If you asked me what«Headlines Diner & Press Club», I would say that it’s a newspaper company that conveniently has food there. Seriously, I had no idea that was the full name of this place; I thought it was just«Headlines!», which is what it says on the outside of the restaurant. This place, though, really does have that diner feel to it. In fact, I feel like calling the house of the girl I like only to get her mom on the line, nervously ask for her, get her on the line, and ask her to go get a milkshake and a burger only to lead the night to Lookout Point and nervously try to put my arm around her. Okay, now I’m just romanticizing the American past. Anyways, the reason why I’ve ended up here is because of their deal – so lovably etched in Sharpie onto 8.5×11″ printer paper – after 5 P.M. where you can get a sandwich, fries, and a soda for $ 6. Now that’s a gnarly deal. I’ve tried corned beef here and french dip here, and both sandwiches were tasty and filling. Ultimately, they are certainly… Well, greasy isn’t the word for it, but they definitely don’t taste healthy. They’re solid sandwiches, but they are a little messy and certainly have an oily feeling to them, which is pretty much what I’m looking for at times. The curly fries are fried pretty well and not the crispiest in the world, and the soda is soda. No one is ever really eating in here when I’m here, which is probably a reflection more of me coming in on Tuesday nights than on the restaurant. And really, it’s a cool vibe in the heart of Westwood. For this price, I just can’t really complain, and I have convinced my friends to come with me at times. So there you have it. My review – hot off the presses. Okay, I’ll stop with the forced newspaper analogy.

This place is pretty good especially when you don’t want to wait very long for your meal. The food is what you’d expect from a place like this — consistently good but not OMGSOGOOD. I’ve eaten here a few times and will probably head back again sometime soon.

One of my favorites in Westwood for breakfast food. The prices are an extremely good deal for the portions. The menu is pretty diverse and offers solid, filling diner food in an area where most restaurants try too hard to look hip and skimp on the menu. My favorite is the french toast. I try and order other things when I come here, but I usually end up with that old favorite. I usually stick to water for a drink since the iced tea always tastes a little off. Besides that, I don’t have any complaints.

As far as I know the food won’t kill you. That’s the best news I have. It is at Headlines that i had the absolute worst pastrami sandwich of my entire life. I know I was wrong in ordering but the complete horribleness(worse than simply deli sliced pastrami) makes me pretty confident that this is the worst restaurant in all of Westwood. Obviously I haven’t tried them all and likely won’t but wow, this was really really bad. How bad was it? The sandwich was left more or less untouched after I tried the pastrami and had to spit it out in disgust. Customer service, as others have said is pretty bad, but they did get my order right. However this place is just depressing. If I was not with a group that was meeting up at Headlines I’d never have visited and would be better for it. Instead I’m going to continue going to Chick Fil A for a morning biscuit or better food later in the day. On Sundays I’ll just grab food from Ralph’s. Even Lunchables are an improvement over the«food» here.

So, I like the concept and the vibe. I just really don’t like the food. MC and I came here for breakfast the other day, as he had been here before and wanted to revisit the salsa. After several minutes of perusing the menu, I finally decided on the Big French Toast Special, and he the chorizo burrito. We were given a number and some Styrofoam water cups, and then we situated ourselves at the counter so I could observe the whole cooking process, which ultimately amazed and displeased me at the same time. I watched them cook the chorizo burrito, from warming up the large tortilla and throwing ingredients onto the electric stove to mincing up the meat and wrapping the baby up. Everything for that looked fine and dandy. Meanwhile, I watched in disappointment as my scrambled eggs became increasingly overcooked because the attention was on the already cooked burrito components rather than on the still-cooking eggs; I flinched as I watched one of the cooks grab two skinny pieces of bacon from the middle of the stove(there are literally just a pile of bacon and a pile of «hash browns» in the middle of the stove, between the two cooks’ individual areas) and toss them onto my plate. I missed the parts that pertained to the French toast and the sausage, though. In several minutes, our plates arrived on the counter, and I was immediately – or again – disappointed by my order. The eggs were, of course, completely overdone; the«hash browns» turned out to be very thin slices of potatoes, probably broiled; the sausages were burnt and dry. Fortunately, at least the French toast looked acceptable. I struggled through what is usually my favorite breakfast combination, and even used Tapatio on the eggs(and that’s a last resort for me). I guess at least the salsa MC likes was good. And his chorizo wasn’t bad. Meh… Still not coming back.

Your standard breakfast food here. I got coffee and had the headliners omelette which came with potatoes and bread. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. It’s not your next great culinary experience. The ambience is lacking in a stale kind of way. I think there are definitely cheaper places to eat as well as higher quality places to eat in Westwood. You can choose one or the other. This place occupies the middle ground between those two extremes. The parking can be a pain here unless you have a UCLA parking pass or want to pay meter during non-peak times.

Headlines has a really cool interior. I love the long bar that shows the kitchen, and small amount of tables along the outside. Mirrors and an open grill make the place feel like an old fashion joint. Contrast that with the large TV playing sports and you got the makings for a nice lunch. I came here looking for their sandwich during their sale hours(after 5pm) just to try it. I had a steak sandwich on white bread with grilled onions and Swiss cheese. Came with fries and a drink for like $ 6 which was a steal. The sandwich however didn’t have that much meat in it, and was really heavy on the cheese. It was not bad, but it was nothing super special. For the price tho I would come eat one again for sure.

I have no issue with a greasy spoon eatery. Non at all. Crowded, that’s fine. Cramped quarters, that’s OK. Average coffee, likable. But, to serve a toasted bagel with mold on it… That’s not so wonderful. To then be told it has mold, look at, look at us, shrug, and then walk off with the bagel, as if it’s nothing, that’s pretty poor. I never like to say avoid places, but I’d rather fly through the LA airport than eat here again. A must«don’t go».
