If I could give 0 stars I would!!!
I will NEVER again even think about attending any type of event at this location. What a waste of an entire evening. I purchased 2 tickets for me & my boyfriend who just returned from deployment to spend New Years at this ‘so called event’. I have never in my life had to deal with such God-​awful planning. I spent THREE HOURS in the freezing cold waiting to get into the venue for $ 100 VIP open bar tickets we paid for in advance!!! The globe theatre is a sad excuse for a venue. I will absolutely make sure no one I know ever comes here again. It is so unfortunate that an army service member was treated so badly at what was supposed to be an upscale New Years event. I am not asking for a refund for our two tickets I am EXPECTING it. Please absolutely call me, I would love to speak to the owner of this establishment to inform them on how an army veteran should be treated and make sure this situation NEVER happens again.

Fuck this place seriously. Bought a $ 60 ticket on New Years only to wait in line for 2 hours and not be let in. I am so furious that I wasted my hard earned money on this shit hole.

If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would! This was really the worst NYE experience I’ve ever had and I am NOT exaggerating.
My party and I purchased tickets for the socialgroup NYE event here on Flavorus. Tickets mind you were $ 50-​$ 75 before fees, so it is safe to say we expected to get SOMETHING in return. We arrived and got in line at around 9:30, 10ish and were left waiting outside during the countdown. To make matters even WORSE when we finally reached the door, we were told that the event was at capacity! I do not see how a production company can plan so poorly to not allow ticketholders access! Either their planning was CRAP or they PURPOSEFULLY sold extra tickets to people under false pretenses! I would be understanding if we did not get access due to late arrival, however, I think over 2.5 hours is early enough. In addition there were a TON of other people (with pre-​purchased tickets) in line behind us who also did not get in! Not to mention that when the venue was at capacity the bouncer was being extremely rude, grabbing the railing and SLAMMING it up and down on the floor to push people back as if they were animals (even though everyone was pretty much STONE COLD SOBER at that point from waiting so long ;;-_​_​_​-​)
I strongly advise people who are considering attending an event by socialgroup to RUN AND HIDE. In the 5 years of attending NYE events in LA (from large massives to smaller venues) I have NEVER dealt with such blatant disregard for customers. STAY AWAY!
***P.S. Although some people are arguing that these frustrations should be targeted at socialgroup, I STILL DO hold this venue and it’s owners as responsible for hiring such a poorly organized production company as they are certainly pocketing a portion of MY ticket money!
UPDATE: After contacting Flavorus a few days ago and they notified me that they will NOT be giving refunds! Unbelievable!

Another bad NYE review:
*Apparently my frustrations should be taken out on the social group but hopefully the globe lets them know that their stupid idea is affecting their business!
Waited in line for two hours freezing our asses off! Eventually the bouncers said no one else was being allowed entry and this was after 12:30 so we even missed the countdown! Went to the front and after another 30 minutes we were Finally able to get in behind some random people who had to argue their way in for the table they purchased and was told they were all being used at the moment! No one even checked us for IDs or tickets
A complete waste of time and money.
Once we got in the club was a complete mess and women were slipping and falling ALL OVER THE PLACE due to the horrendous condition of the floor. We didn’t attempt to get a drink because of the mobs of people around the bar.
This is a 3 level venue BUT the top floor still has seats from it being a theatre so no one was able to occupy that space, of course, and the 2^nd floor wasn’t even a full floor. The main floor was way smaller than the pictures made it seem.

NYE spent here, and it was a shit experience. I think my description is actually being nice too. Waited an hour to move a few yards in line… Ended up cutting the line because we all knew we wouldn’t make it in time had we waited. Once we got inside, we went to the open bar area down stairs that had a mob around it. Took another 30 minutes just to get my drinks. and open bar ended up closing @12 o clock. Lol what a joke of an establishment and event. Barely made the countdown since I had to wait the whole time I came to this event. The only positive I could say about my time here during NYE was the bartender downstairs. He was holding it down while people were heckling him with cash in his face to serve them but he sweetly gave his attention to the calm people waiting.

I would love to give this place a ZERO star if i could. NYE was a damn joke. The bouncers were SHIT, and did not know how to keep the event organized at all. They kept letting the general admission people go in when my group and I purchased the VIP package for the table. (Which promised no line btw) Since we got a table, we were expecting our table to be RESERVED and READY when we arrived. Sadly nothing was prepared. We ended up doing the countdown OUTSIDE of the club and did not get in because our table wasnt ready. After the 3 hour wait outside, we were finally excited to get seated at our table. HAH the table was a joke. Didnt even fit 8 people. The lady also told us we had to share a table with a random group at first, so she can clear our table out. Well she didnt even clean our table. It was a USED table with trash and left over cups on it. That was coool i guess since we all thought we had drinks to look foward to! We were promised 3 premium bottles and we chose 2 hennys and 1 patron. The bottle service girl brought us 3 bottles that were wrong and then we told her that we wanted henny and patron AGAIN. She came back again to tell us that she lost our drink tickets. That was honestly the last straw. We ended up leaving immediately and went to the front to demand a refund. This was one of the most pathetic, disorganized event ive been to. Dont waste your money at this place.

Their New Year’s Eve party was a joke! We paid 75 $ each to stand in a line from 9 pm to 11 30 pm when we decided that we should go somewhere else if we want to ring the new year. So if you want to spend your New Year’s Eve standing in a line. do it for free. do not pay money to do it. On the top of it, instead of being apologetic, the staff was rude. They spoiled my New Years celebration. Worst experience ever.

Everyone bashing The Globe theatre needs to know that the NYE event was bought out by Social Group. They do events in Hollywood every weekend like Lure Friday and Project Saturday. Should the globe theatre get blasted with horrible reviews for allowing a fraudulent team of promoters scam party goers, ABSOLUTELY! Social Group led by DJ draws really need to apologize to the masses. Many of us paid good money, to end up standing in a chaotic line that didn’t move or if we did make it inside, table purchases and open bar wristbands were NOT respected.
I have sub promoted for Johnny Cruz and their bottom line is money. They don’t care about the people that put money in their pockets. He cares even less about throwing a great event people can really enjoy. Next time you see the words SOCIAL GROUP OR JOHNNY PRESENTS. roll your eyes and click on the next party option!

came here for a event that the bar eastsidelove had english as second language with mariachi Manchester and a juan gabriel tribute JUAN TIME ONLY both performance where grea the theater was beautiful they had the performances top flor and a dj only on the bottom basement wich got kind of hot after dancing a while now for the drinks i know drinks can be pricey in downtown bars but come on $ 11 for a jack n coke wich had tons of ice and just a spit of coke & jack,$ 8 for a corona can beer people better start drinking before u get to the theater parking situation theres parking right at the corner wich was great but its kind of creepy when u come out of the theater late at night especially if ur a girl so just be careful

Such a great venue! I love the décor, the history behind it. This place has been remodeled with good taste and makes it an interesting night venue for DTLA. I went there twice, for the ribbon cutting on July 26 and for the flower power night on September 7. That was AWESOME! They seemed to have worked out the kinks. Dancers, décor and music for the disco night were great, the staff was friendly, we had no cover to pay and we appreciated the full bar and nice bartenders. I was with my friends and we had a great time. The owners are really nice and devoted too. I saw this week they are starting to do some live band concerts and I’m going tonight. I can only recommend this place and congratule the work done behind the scene for the revival of this place.

I had high hopes the restoration would highlight the beauty and the history of the building — think Cicada Club, Palace Theater mixed with something like the Jane Hotel (NYC) for its nightlife. I know I’m not the investor, but I can’t help but be disappointed that every feature was designed to make the patron forget the place was ever a historic theater: stage removed, endless laser beams, gaudy backlit bars with VIP areas. I like glitz and glamour but the Globe had its soul removed by a bad DJ. We didn’t pay cover and the place was empty; being told by every employee «it’s still early!» at 12am is not convincing. A space that large needs to be packed or it quickly feels empty, and there’s nothing inviting or memorable to make me want to return. It will do fine as a nightclub, but it fails to capture the charm of the Historic Core. At least it wasn’t torn down, right?

A mix of Reggie, pop, hip hop and rap. This place offers it all and more when it comes to downtown nightlife. A mix of cultures and fun, this one time theatre has everyone on their feet and the audience becomes the show. The former stage plays host to the Dj booth and the two bars offers anyone looking for a good time, a buffet of top shelf liquor.

Great place to chill and have fun with friends, good vibes, and super club team, high service, music play, one of the best and populaire Dj Julien Roussel (Ibiza, Saint-​Barth, Paris…) dance all night long… So beautiful and historical place, when you are there you feel like in the castle, but at home. Very friendly atmosphère…

Unexpected $ 20 cover. Awful music with dj’s that switched laptops to leave the space in complete silence only to play bad old music from some Mexican band from the 90’s called «Mana». I feel completely disappointing because The Globe wasn’t nothing what the website advertised.

The newly opened Globe theater had a little bit of both Glamour and History. The venue was fantastic, however the drinks were completely overpriced with not so good of quality. I know I shouldn’t expect a quality wine at a club, but 14 a half glass of wine, that’s from a $ 9 bottle. it’s unacceptable. The reason i’m giving them 4 stars is because the venue is very spacious and the DJ played really good music. I hope the drink situation gets under control and I“m looking forward to going back there. PS. Make sure to get a guest list, because the lines are not gonna pretty.

Had a horrible time, came and left almost immediately… A girl gave me a flier to promote for there opening weekend. So I had friends come from Orange County come out. she made it sound fun, free entrance and free complimentary cocktail. We arrived and when I handed the women the fliers she was pretty rude asking where we got them… but I brushed it off. We got the drink tickets only to find out they were only for tap water or a coke… I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sound like a «cocktail»… I know I’ll never be back.
