Eyed LA Optometry

Dr. Maylin is simply the cutest, smartest, and most helpful optometrist in the galaxy! She explained all of my eye health stuff in a direct and easy to understand manner. Simply one of the most enjoyable eye exams. Everyone in the office was friendly. They helped me find a great pair of frames, and ordered them in a color just for me. Left with warm fuzzies and a spot-​on prescription.

I’m late in writing this review but I’ve been coming here for 3 years straight and Eyed LA is definitely the best place to go hands down! You feel like you haven’t had a real eye exam in your life until you meet with Dr. Gonzalez. First of all she breaks down your vision unlike any other optometrist and provides a verbal imagery to help you understand what’s going on with your eyes. Secondly, she has got to be the coolest person in LA with her NYC energy and style I totally want to hang out with her. LOL. She also cares about her patients overall health and relates any issues to your eyes. Lastly, she’s eco-​friendly and altruistic, she volunteered to speak to a group of high school students my nonprofit serves during career day and she was a huge hit after sharing her story!
Oh yeah and she helped pick out my sexy chic Cutler and Gross of London blue glasses which everyone loves! I’ve purchased glasses and contacts during my visits and last week ordered some prescription Ray Ban sunglasses with the help of her staff who are also awesome!
I’m always bragging on MY optometrist and hope everyone gets a chance to make Eyed LA your stop for eye care.

Dr. Gonzalez and her staff are all extremely welcoming and kind. It’s actually fun to go to the eye doctor, and you’re getting great medical attention too. I got an updated glasses prescription and stylish frames I really like. Dr. Gonzalez did a great job narrowing down the field of frames — she picked three great choices and showed me a funky option as well. I’ll be going back soon for contacts!

Dr. Maylin Gonzalez was great, along with her staff. My flight was a few hours later that night so I was in a rush, but they agreed to do an eye exam for me in order to get my contacts on such short notice (thank you!). They were extremely professional, friendly and didn’t seem annoyed that I needed to get things done quickly. Would continue to come to this place even though I live on the east side… :)

This might be the best optometry experience I’ve ever had. All my questions were answered thoroughly and with great patience and everyone was friendly and highly professional.

This is hands down the best optometrist experience I have ever had (and I’ve been privileged to the best Children’s Hospitals in the country). Dr. Maylin Gonzalez is absolutely one of the most knowledgable and passionate optometrists I’ve ever met.
I’ve been a patient here since they’ve opened and am continually surprised. From my first visit, Dr. G was able to show /​teach me things about my vision I would have never known otherwise. The equipment here is top of the line and it is always a fascinating and interactive experience.
My prescription is a challenge, but EyedLA and Dr. G consistently deliver the best. All of their glasses also come with a warranty — which I was happy to discover when I broke mine a few months ago!

This place is awesome!
The shop is inviting and warm, it has a cute boutique feel to it. The staff and Dr. Maylin are friendly and make you feel right at home. Dr Maylin is hilarious and had me laughing the entire time. My previous eye doctor had told me what was wrong with my eyes, but never explained in a way that I understood. Dr. Maylin was able to explain what is going on with my eyes and why, what problems I have had, how my new prescription would help, and what to look out for in the future.
I’ve been there for an eye exam, to pick up new glasses and to drop off sunglasses for a new prescription. Each time has been an enjoyable experience. Her staff is easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. Even figuring out my insurance was easy, and I was able to get new frames with lenses for a good price.
I can’t wait to go back and pick up my sunglasses!

So I’m actually about a week late on writing this review but it had to be done. So first off I was late and didn’t have the number to call and inform them, no problem they called me! The young lady on the phone was soft spoken and polite when I informed her I was still approximately 10 more minutes late she immediately connected me to the manager who very graciously oferred me various options. I decided to go ahead and go in knowing I might have to wait until the next client was tended to. The women that greeted me upon my arrival were all professional and friendly.
I have to say this, it was my first time there but I felt at home. The doctor has the best smile and tone. They obviously had no clue I had been going through the week from hell and actually walked in pretty flustered but after five minutes with them you can’t help but smile. My previous optometrist I had being going to since I was 7 will never see me again. I will return every year. Thank you to the staff for such a quick and friendly experience.

Omg! Best eye doctor & staff ever! I work as a nurse at a big hospital we all go to Dr. G! She is so attentive, amazing, & sweet! Me & my hubby felt like family going there, the office is clean & beautiful, no waiting! I wish I found her sooner!!!

Love this place, Small, personal staff that takes the time to find out what you need and follows through with you. I came here unhappy with my prescription from another optometrist and Dr. Maylin fixed the problem, explained what was going on with my eyes and adjusted and provided new lenses in no time.
I really appreciate that Dr. Maylin takes such care with clients and follows up thoroughly.

Maybe this is a premature write-​up but I walked away feeling really good today after my eye appointment and that has never happened to me.
Location:
Wilshire Blvd., busy, parking isn’t great but nothing really is around here… it is what it is.
Store Itself:
It’s a really nice boutique shop setup. If you spend a second to look around, you’ll really notice that someone went and made an effort to add a mix of clean, inviting, creative and add a twist of fun.
Staff (non-​Dr. Maylin):
I have to say… they are pretty darn patient. I work in Insurance benefits so I may be an annoying customer for some because I expect to use my benefits to the very last drop if possible. I setup my appointment with a lot of expectations from what I’d receive and they tolerated my overly entitled ass. I was wrong, they showed me I was wrong… and in the nicest way possible.. My bad… and the lovely girl who was there in the evening was super nice as well.
Optometrist (Dr. Maylin):
So, if I can say this without sounding too strange. I felt like I was being taken care of by a friend… and not just an eye doctor. Dr. Maylin was smart, fun, intelligent and took every opportunity to explain everything to me. I knew the terminology for what my eyes have but not the real meaning, what I should look for as I age, things to consider.
Her equipment was great, new and all things considered are on par with the latest technology. That’s just the throw in truth without need for embellishment or subjective opinion.
The subjective truth is that if she stays within normal driving distance from me… I might never have another Optometrist again… and I’ve had 5 before her. They all seemed «good» but I’ve never felt better for the experience, it was always a pleasant normal «transaction». This felt like a friend wanted to see how I was doing and look out for my best interest.
Price:
Of note, I have VSP and her prices are very reasonable with insurance. I have no idea what they are without. That is up to you to research if that is a concern.
Again, overall… nothing bad and plenty good, above and beyond.

Not one for writing reviews on a whim, but holy smokes did these lovely people deliver.
Broke my glasses and needed new ones. Realized I hadn’t had an eye exam in years. Did a little digging and found this place not too far away.
After leaving I can confidently say I would have driven from the 10 to the 405 to the 101 to the 134 just to get here. Extremely welcoming. Talented and efficient staff. More than reasonable prices ($ 50 and you’re out the door with an RX).
As a rule I don’t spend much on eye wear due to my habit of losing and breaking them on a regular basis; however, their wide selection of seriously sexy glasses had me considering otherwise.
I’ll be back for the kind and courteous service and once I’m ready to commit to a pair of glasses for more than a month.

Honestly it was the best eye exam experience ever. It’s a funny thing to call out, but its true! Very friendly, helpful, fun staff in a clean, bright, and easy to access location.
Seriously though, Mr. Maylin, I mean, she’s awesome. Not only is she quick and absolutely wonderful to talk with, but she knows her stuff and makes something like eye drops and dilation easy.
I told her that I’m moving soon to Seattle and she said she’d be more than happy to help me find a new eye doctor in the area once I’m settled. Five stars isn’t enough, I’m sending my boyfriend here as well.

Dr. Gonzalez is easily the best eye doctor I’ve ever been to. She’s cool, she’s funny, and, on top of it all, she’s a stellar optometrist. What I loved is that she took great care with evaluating my eyes and then had great tips to help me take care of them. (Not expensive tips or unnecessary recommended procedures that I’ve had from other Santa Monica optometrists.)
In addition to my check-​up, I had new lenses made for a pair of frames that I brought in. It was all handled so quick and so well that I’m recommending her to all my friends and will be taking my whole family in for her.
Finally, I love how everything can be taken care of online and how responsive they were with emails.
This is the way all businesses should be and there’s a reason Dr. Gonzalez has all these positive reviews: She’s just that phenomenal.

5 stars is really not high enough.
Dr. Maylin knew that I had a bad experience at my last optometrist and that my glasses were giving me headaches. She sat with me and took the time to figure out what was wrong and what needed to be fixed.
She and her staff will put you at ease.

WOW AND WOW! I just love when I find places that are TRUE professionals in their field. And this place will be my eye doctor’s in LA. Maylin the eye doctor is amazing, big personality with whom I clicked with immediately. My teenage daughter is bit shy and she made her feel so relaxed! My daughter loves her (and she isn’t easiest to please)! Office is modern and stylish, parking at the back, reminders through email and the front desk staff fabulous. I will not be going anywhere else. Love you guys!

What can I say that hasn’t been said? Dr. Gonzalez is the shit. I pretty much had the time of my life getting new glasses here. I wish I had lots of dollars so that I could spend them all on 6 or 8 pairs of new glasses. Is that so wrong?
I would recommend anyone to check out this place, but only if you like warm, fun, blunt people. If you’re not cool, don’t go. But getting new glasses here would definitely make your cool factor skyrocket.
