I didn’t know you were supposed to check in that the front with the hostess to get a table, so I kinda just took one. It didn’t take long before I was escorted to the hostess to wait for a table. Once you get a table(I like the outdoor better), everything’s dandy. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is cool. It’s definitely chill, so don’t expect to turn up or anything. Nice place with a good drinks.

Came here after work to celebrate a co-worker’s birthday. It’s at the corner of 7th St. and Mateo St. in the industrial area, so a pretty unassuming area. The bar itself is nicely set up with a beautiful outdoor patio! String lights, brick walls, picnic tables, succulents. Definitely recommend you sit outside if you come here. We got a bunch of tapas like fries, steamed baos, taquitos and I got the Yo LA Tengo cocktail($ 12) which consisted of Mezcal, Aperol, Ginger, Lime, Grapefruit, Soda and a Candied Ginger garnish. I enjoyed my drink but none of the food was that memorable for me. The only thing I remember is that the fries tasted like In-N-Out fries to me, which aren’t my favorite fries. They were also basically all the crumbs or last bit of fries, so it wasn’t sharing-friendly nor enjoyable to eat in general. Since this place has pretty good reviews I’m convinced we just had bad luck with our server because she was very unwelcoming, cold and seemed annoyed with everything(eye rolls 4 dayz). Service was also ridiculously slow. It took at least 20 minutes just to get our order taken and another 20 just for our drinks to come. It wasn’t particularly busy either so I’m not sure if it was just an off night. I wouldn’t mind coming back here, but I probably won’t order food next time.

Had a date night with the BF here and we showed up without a reservation and were extremely hungry and they accommodated us right away, and were very nice before even knowing if they had a table for us. The ambience is beyond spectacular. Open area in the back with tons of heat lamps and large tables and most importantly string lights(lots of them). Inside cute tables lining opposite of the bar. The crowd is mostly trendy young professionals, no one trying too hard or looking like they just walked out of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeons office. We ordered the salmon roll with a hint of dill(yum) and it was delicious, perfect serving size as far as bar food goes. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because the bar menu was very limited(fine they’re not trying to be a full serve restaurant) and practically three out of six things we wanted to order was sold out.

Gawddddd love you ERB! Your drinks all have a certain taste to them(ginger? who knows) that aren’t as good as drinks in other bars but your ambience is EVERYTHING. Oh and your bathroom is so small and the line sucks but you make up for it with the heavenly smell of it… I feel like I step into some wonderland every time I come here and it never fails to make me fall in love over and over. If you come early for grubs before the main nighttime bar rush, it’s nice because you can keep your table and chill there. You are also rewarded with plenty of street parking because… if you come late, you ain’t parking anywhere nearby.

Very hip bar in the Arts District area of Los Angeles. One door entry, it can be easily missed. Valet parking is $ 10. The street parking is free but the area is hella sketchy so we did not attempt to park there. Large interior bar, self seating but it was packed. Huge outside patio. Ton of heat lamps, which saved me. Patio décor was nice. Crowded on Saturday night. You have to put your name down to get seated in the patio area. Wait was around 40 minutes for a table of 8. Our server was friendly and split all our checks per person/couple. Drink prices were pretty reasonably priced. Allagash Beer — $ 7.50 Coedo Black Lager + Iwai Blue Label Whiskey — $ 14

I was excited to check this place out because I love the Arts District and love anyplace that has a great outdoor space. My friend and I met up there for happy hour-parking wasn’t a problem, there was plenty of street parking available. The indoor area looked cute, but we literally just walked through to sit outdoors so I didn’t really pay too much attention. The back patio was pretty busy and we sat at a communal table with a few other people. Our server came around after a few minutes to get us waters and to take our order. My friend got the house wine and I got their bourbon special. I also ordered the happy hour burger special– burger with fries for $ 10. We got our drinks fairly quickly but the food on the other hand took about an hour. Luckily I wasn’t starving otherwise I would have been really hangry and had a fit but it was kinda ridiculous that it took that long for a burger. I had even asked for it medium rare(and of course when it finally came out it wasn’t that but well done). I couldn’t find our server for a long time and when she finally returned and I explained that I still hadn’t gotten my food she apologized by saying she was on her break(um ok but then you let the other server who’s taking over your table know in advance right? I was a server so I know the drill, especially when it gets busy like it was). She had to check on the order and luckily she did take it off my tab because of the inconvenience. I would say I would just come back from the drinks next time– and maybe sit inside because I’d probably get more attentive service since it’s a smaller area.

Within walking distance of the hipster blowout in the arts district — Everson Royce sits kitty corner to the BOMB macaroni and cheese pizza at Pizzanista which shares walls with tuff guy dive bar Tony’s. Everson Royce is definitely the place to take your out of town friends to right before sunset(my basic ass instagram photo of Edison lights and a sunset nearly blew up with likes — humble brag). VERY extensive choice of liquor — I nearly drooled at the very long bar menu riddled with whiskies and rums that made my mouth fill up with drool. I digress. Went outside on the patio, got some stiffy cocktails, and some nosh. Would say that the food is pretty good but kinda small, so if you’re more than peckish maybe take a pass and go somewhere heartier. Aka black out and walk across the street to eat a pizzy by yourself. — Chicken Thigh with lime: nice light limey brightness on a very well cooked thigh but SMALL — Fries: order them in abundance because everyone loves boozin’ with fries — decent helping — Porkbelly bun: pretty classic preparation, would likely stay away — serving = 2 buns I didn’t get the biscuits but they looked delicious. Anyway — its a hip neat hangout with nice whiskeys. Just skip the food if you’re hungry. Otherwise, instagram away — friendly Unilocalers. #nofilterneeded

This place is a gem! I was skeptical when I first visited because the surrounding area is a little sketchy but I quickly got over it when I entered the orange door of ERB. There’s a quaint inside bar area but the highlight for me is the outside area. It has a great vibe which is reminiscent of Austin, Texas, complete with patio lights, benches and bocce ball. My last visit was for a party of 30 and they did everything to make sure that we were comfortable and taken care of. Best of all, they didn’t require a deposit for a group this size(yay). I can’t narrow down my favorite drink although there are so many options to choose from but the hamachi tostada is my favorite food item there — so good. Everyone from the doorman to the servers to the manager and owner are all very accommodating. You can’t beat the service here. Only thing that could use improvement here is the bathroom situation, there’s only one for each gender which makes for long lines.

I would say this is kind of a hidden gem filled with decent drinks and a pretty damn good burger, especially during the sunset on a cool spring day. FOODQUALITY: Looking at the burger here, I was pretty skeptical that it could be a good burger until I took a bite. It’s oozing with greatness. The egg brioche bun is grilled on the bottom with butter and it delivers a really nice crisp with light-densed airiness, and as you bite through the buttery crispness you reach the intensely seasoned patty and melty cheese. It’s a strong-flavored burger of just pure meat and butter goodness, so if you’re trying to watch your weight then forget it. Definitely recommend to eat it with fries since the ketchup provides that acidic sweetness to counter the semi-heaviness of the burger. SERVICE: Service is attentive, polite, kind, and welcoming. ENVIRONMENT: Go out doors where it’s quiet and comfortable, but pick a spot where the sun isn’t glaring on you or in your eyes. I’m not going to lie: that’s probably the best burger I’ve had overall since Father’s office to me has problems in consistency. I’ll be back. Especially during happy hour!

Came here for friends birthday party. Loved the ambience in the back patio. Plenty of chairs and a large block which can be used as benches. I’m not a drinker and normally don’t drink but I was introduced to Bazant Radler here and oh my it was delicious. Only 3% alcohol and grapefruit flavor! Found my drink! They should have more restrooms or more stalls for a place that holds a lot of people. Hate waiting in line for the bathroom. It felt like I was at a club in line for the bathroom. It would also be nice if they had a bar in the outdoor patio so we don’t have to make our way back in which is towards the entrance so there’s traffic when the night is poppin. The bar is really close to the tables as well so it gets jammed and no space for people to comfortable walk through to the back patio or leave(same entrance/exit).

Great patio, small bites that are a bit pricey but good and good drinks. Great for date night, girl’s night out or celebrating with a large group. The drink list has range and the staff is friendly.

So DTLA has been trying to go on the up and up and Everson seems to be at the heart of it. Right next to skid row, driving here may seem a little unorthodox but once you go through the doors under the classic red nyon light spelling«Bar», you enter a whole different world. There is an inside seating area with an awesome looking bar as you walk in. However the outside is the main attraction. A patio full of treas and a fun seating arrangement make this place the true definition of neighborhood gem. The drinks are perfectly done and the food is simple yet delicious. Staff is very nice and the manager is constantly walking around checking on guests. There is a designated parking lot next door with valet and security. I highly recommend Everson Royce Bar for anyone looking to experience the new DTLA. Keep up the good work!

Loved this place. What a hidden gem in the middle of downtown LA! Totally not what I expected from what it looked like from the outside! I can see almost every girl in Southern California falling in love with the outdoor atmosphere of the patio! Honestly the food and drinks weren’t the best to my expectations, regardless it was a really nice place to sit and talk with friends! There a many seatings and many heaters to keep you warm even though you are outdoors! I fell in love with this place with just the arrangement of their outdoor patio and how it’s located in the middle of nowhere so there’s less noise around the place! They are known for their wide range of drinks and alcohol. They have a phenomenal looking bar with a really cool display of their bottles inside.

Thank you Everson Royce bar for providing the most perfect space for me to host my birthday party last weekend! Could not have asked for anything better! The service, the space, the atmosphere, and the music were amazing. My friends and I had an amazing time. Thank you so much for being so accommodating for 30+ people. It was perfect for everyone to mingle and really enjoy their time. I can’t wait to go back when the weather gets a little warmer. The back patio will be perfect during the warm summer nights!

This is place is pretty chill. Dress code: it’s casual/hipster. They don’t really check anyone on that because the guy who let us just pointed to the door. Drinks: They made us bartenders choice of drink. It was a super strong whiskey drink. I took one sip and I had to lean back on that one. Décor: The main bar hall it was tight nit space to walk through. There are tables where you can order food and drinks. The bar had a variety of whiskey, scotch and unique brands of liquors. Most definitely not your typical house hold names. In the back where the patio is very well lit. Nice lights for the selfie barrage of pictures that you will see happen all night. Lots of asians. Like lots. Other: we met the owner of the restaurant. His name is Randy, he was being courteous and just thanking us for our business. We asked him a couple of just questions on how long the place been open. It has been open for 5 months and the bar Everson Royce bar. It’s name because of his two sons, Everson and Royce. Drink prices– 2 Stars Décor 4 stars Other — 3 stars. I gave it a four because we had a swell time and I didn’t break my pocket two bad for two drinks and we met the owner randy. I took some nice pictures in the back so that is always good. Haha.

My friends and I graced the Everson Royce Bar with our presence for my birthday. I, however, did not plan far ahead enough to reserve a spot for a huge group. Apparently if you do that, you get to order these boozy punch jars that they make ahead of time. A group next to us was kind enough to offer us some, though we really couldn’t, you can tell that this a very friendly atmosphere outdoors at least. Indoors, it’s more like a club and it’s packed. The space is tight and if you’re at the bar or more likely trying to make your way to the bartender, you will be elbowed and stepped mercilessly and occasionally by the passerby. That being said, I enjoy the drinks here and love the selection of whiskeys. The bartenders are busy and the hosts and hostesses are incredibly sweet. The outdoor area is a bit hipster, rife with reserved albeit empty tables(not enough servers for them, I think) and has a sort of shuffle bar x pool strip. You can be sitting and drinking and a ball will come over to you and you just move your feet or give it back to the players. It really breeds such a friendly environment, which was my favorite part of the place. We were just leaving as a table opened up, and the hostess was very sweet to all of us. I’d come back again when it’s not THAT crowded as this is a cool place with a fine selection of whiskey and bourbon.

Update: This place never disappoints! Other than getting busier and crowder… That burger is da bomb! Simple. Perfect. All around. But if you can’t have medium rare patty(which is best taste, personally) please don’t order and rant about it :) I went on a soft opening night. When I walked in, I felt as if I were in one of the hidden bars in NYC. I ordered 2 cocktails: Mammie Taylor(like a penicillin made with scotch which I love) & a reverse vesper martini that was one of the best vesper I’ve had in LA(surprisingly, not a lot of bars could make a decent one). The skills of the bartenders are undeniable. They also have impressive selections of scotch, Japanese whisky, bourbon & Mezcal! On the food side, the prosciutto plate and the pané pomodoro(tomato garlic paste on a crunchy flat bread) was yummy! The fries too were perfect as in a French bistro. I can’t wait to return and try more bar bites by Chef Molina & test the skills of the bartenders :) keep up the good work!

Also known as ‘ERB,’ this bar will pleasantly surprise you once you step in from the street. There is something not-that-alluring about a 3-letter neon sign spelling out the word B-A-R above an orange door in a building that looks like it doesn’t have any windows … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Once inside, BOOM, you will thank the person who brought you to the ERB. The bar is impressive. A 40-foot long marble counter with mixologists whipping up some of the coolest craft cocktails from behind, better-than-good craft beers on tap, and a menu that will suffice since Bestia is around the corner. Tables across the bar where people can dine, drink, or just mingle. Can’t forget about the big patio out back with wine-on-tap? Really? I took advantage of one of their craft cocktails called the Barrel Aged Talent Scout, which was a good substitute for an Old Fashioned. A few craft beers later and I was in a super-good-mood — minus the drunk texting. Overall, we all had a great time. Parking sucks, but you wouldn’t want to park on 7th Street anyways. Highly recommend. We will definitely be coming back to the ERB. Enjoy!

Now these are some great cocktails! JL and I have been going to the Everson Royce in Pasadena for some years and were stoked to read about their new offshoot. Even ran into Elliott from the Pasadena location and chatted for a bit. Fantastic dude! The bartenders here were A++. Had the Paper Plane(bourbon, lemon, aperol, amaro nonino), Siesta(tequila, lime, campari, grapefruit) and a Mule. All stellar. J got an Infante(tequila, lime, almond, nutmeg, rose water) and a Mezcal — based cocktail(off menu) that one of the amazing bartenders concocted. The fresh ingredients brought me back to the ones they used to sling at Rivera during the Julian Cox era. So great! There’s not a descriptive sign outfront; rather it just says«Bar» and has a small little plaque by the door. Keep your eyes peeled and stop by for some refreshing cocktails. Can’t comment on the parking because we Ubered, so it wasn’t an issue. Stay thirsty and drink responsibly, my friends.

Yes! Yes yes yes! ERB is a very welcome addition to this part of downtown! I haven’t had a chance to try the cocktails yet, but the food is spectacular and the beer list is brief yet well curated. If you’re visiting for the first time, the smoky potato taquitos and burger are the way to go. Trust me. The tomatillo they use on the taquitos is really zesty and vibrant, absolutely delicious. And that burger, man. There’s more character and thought put into even just the bun than you’re used to. It’s sensational. That back outside patio will be quite a pleasant place to hang once it gets warmer! Hats off to this place.
