First of all, Nadia is a BEAST. She took care of the whole restaurant all by herself! I am in awe of her ability to keep all of us happy with enthusiasm and friendliness — thank you! When I saw that this event was not allowing plus ones, I immediately thought how cool it would be to get to know other Unilocalers! Shout-out to my new friends Pamela T(WELCOME to Elite!), Jena S and Mel D! What a happy coincidence that the food we were enjoying was as comforting as the company! Holy Mac-n-Cheese, batman! 3 kinds of cheese and Arugula Salad — Jam PACKED with goodness. You’d better be hungry if you’re going to get the large size! Katie B – I want to study at your feet. You are the most gracious host-planner in the universe! Thank you for this opportunity to mix and mingle with honestly, the best company i could’ve picked on a Wednesday night! And not a single Panko breadcrumb was left.

Early bird gets the worm! Showed up early with a few other Elites and helped Katie briefly with Unilocal goodies on the tables. Sat down in a both with Javier, Linda and Gloria, my new friends! Our server was on top of it and came over to us after we sat down. She had a big smile and very enthusiastic about our courses. The first was the arugula salad, a jam packed salad! Full of corn, diced avocados, cheese, and many, almost TOO many pecans. We all chatted about past Elite parties, people who check in but not really, travel and dogs. Next came the mac & cheese — something we all were excited about. A smoked gouda, swiss and mozzarella mac & cheese even. The trio of cheeses were divine, perfect melty, creamy texture. The shells were al dente but just needed a liiiiiiittle more salt. We kept throwing out comments around the table about the dishes, textures and tastes. I loved and noticed how the mac and cheese and the chicken dish all came out piping hot, something to appreciate! And finally, the last dish of the night, fried chicken breast with a heaping pile of mashed potatoes and fire roasted zucchini, carrots and sweet peppers. The carrots were my favorite part about this dish, but the creamy garlic sauce on top of the chicken was pretty delicious too. The chicken was tender, juicy but needed a bit more salt on it as well. Maybe that hot sauce would have been better? The mashed potatoes were perfection, I couldn’t eat all of it! We all even had to pass on dessert, we were so full with happy tummies. A huge thank you to Katie B., per the usual girl! I loved the style of this event, casual, fun and different. It’s always nice when you have a booth full of really cool people and super friendly. And lastly, our server was on point, serving that entire room on her own and kept such a positive attitude. I was happy to tip her well!

Another awesome Elite event! I arrived super early and ended up helping Katie and a couple other Elites swag the tables! As we were the early birds we ended up sharing a table. A great bunch of Unilocalers Alexis B, Linda T, and Javier O are! We chatted it up and laughed while getting to know each other! This event provided us a chance to try some comfort food from The Hollywood Corner. We started off with an arugula salad with corn, avocados, and walnuts. I wasn’t really impressed even with the added ground pepper… something was just missing. Next came the 3 cheese Mac & Cheese which consisted of smoked gouda, swiss, and mozzarella cheeses. The creaminess of the cheeses especially the smoked gouda made this dish for me!!! It was definitely yummy. Finally, came the main course of smothered fried chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and roasted veggies. I dove right into those veggies, they were perfectly cooked and seasoned! The chicken lacked seasoning and maybe the suggested hot sauce was a hint to cover the blandness. I really did enjoy the garlic mashed potatoes, they were creamy and seasoned well! There was definitely a party in my tummy, so yummy so yummy! I was pretty stuffed and couldn’t finish any of the food let alone try dessert. Everyone at our table was stuffed and unable to get dessert. It did look pretty good as I glanced around and saw what other tables had received. Service was on point! That girl worked the room like no other, she was cheerful and always coming by to see if everything was ok and refill drinks. She worked the room all by herself and I was amazed!!! Thanks again to The Hollywood Corner and Katie B for hosting another awesome event!!!
