Pretty awesome plate off of the Hollywood Strip. Just randomly found them on Unilocal and saw that they have craft beers so I had to stop by. Will definitely come back next time to try their food. Not sure where or how much parking is since i just parked for free on the street by sunset and walked here. Good for big groups. The staff was friendly.

This place is a «more than meets the eye» type of place. When we first arrived, I was honestly confused because it’s truly a little hole in the wall. But I was so pleased with my experience. The waitresses take a tag-team approach so there were a couple of different waitresses who helped us out throughout our time there. There are plenty of tv’s at this place too, which was great because we were watching a game. The food is also above average for a «bar/brewhouse.» I enjoyed my food, as did my friend. My only knock to this place was that after we ate and they removed our plates, the waitresses didn’t come back to our table. I guess they thought we were done completely but we were watching the game for an additional hour after we finished eating with basically no service. There were times we wanted to order a drink but didn’t feel it necessary to summon a waitress so we just didnt. That was unfortunate but oh well.

We stopped in this restaurant on the way to the Pantages Theatre. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived just before 6:30pm an was able to take advantage of their happy hour menu. But looking at their regular prices, this will now be our go-to dining spot for future visits to the Pantages. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We each enjoyed the huge hamburgers and micro brewed beers. But the big surprise was the Rocky Top ice cream cake which is Snickers ice cream topped with crushed Oreo cookies and served with caramel sauce. This $ 8 desert could have served 4 adults. The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. A wonderful find for casual dining in Hollywood.

Crazy busy on a Wednesday night. Its hooked to a theater(plays) and there’s another theater across the way. The place was full of people waiting for the play to start. We were told 45min wait. They were pretty close at 35min. Very loud inside but a really pretty old building. My wife ordered the bbq chicken nachos and I ordered the beef short ribs. My ribs came with three small ribs, a ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes, and some brussel sprouts. My ribs were ok, the potatoes and brussel sprouts were completely flavorless. My wife’s nachos were far better. But the bbq sauce was super sweet and overpowered everything else on the plate. This place is best visited for the drinks, not the food.

Stopped here on your way to a Dodgers game and it was worth the short walk from the red line stop and back! 1. Beer selection is stellar. varied. properly poured. gold star. 2. Order and split the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Seriously. It comes with mushrooms and I LOVE mushrooms. The quality and abundance of the lobster are top notch. This is the 2nd best I’ve ever had.(first was on a fishing boat in New Zealand with lobster caught that day, so sorry, nothing will take the #1 spot) 3. Get the sausage platter. But don’t share. It’s so good you won’t want to, and the portion size isn’t really large enough to do so in my opinion. The kraut has a welcomed kick! We tried the Elk and the Wild Boar. Yes again please. 4. Service was fantastic, all staff were knowledgeable about the menu for food and beer. Food came quickly and so did the check which were great since we were off to a game. Highly recommend anyone going to a game coming from the Hollywood area leave extra early and come here first. So much better than food and beer at the ballpark!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet! I love it so much! The best selection of beers on this side of town. The food is delicious and does not disappoint! I have been coming here for years. Any time I go to a show at the Fonda, it is a must to stop in at this little gem. I used to only have drinks here but when I found out they were open for lunch and tried their food — I was blown away. The sausages are amazing! An andouille and that grapefruit zest beer, or try one of their nitro brews — best lunch ever! Everything is delicious! The Fish Tacos are off the chain. The truffle bleu cheese fries are awesome. The French Dip is the bomb! And the service is top notch! I love the guy with the funky mustache and the sweet lady with the pretty smile. They just give me the warm and fuzzies. The only bummer is that they are only open for lunch on Fridays now. WAAHH! Oh well, I guess I will just have to come here for lunch every Friday. :)

Despite paying $ 30 for parking directly next to this place. It was worth it. The selection on drinks seems endless, first place I’ve ever been to where you can order your food and pay for it at the same time. I’m from the Bay Area but this is one of those places that make you fall in love with LA. It was very busy when we went, expect a loud environment mostly of people talking, the place isn’t very big but it has a nice social setting to it if that even makes sense. The bar has a digital screen and has everything you could think of lol We went here when there wasn’t waiters or waitresses available, they give you an option to wait(you can just hit the Hollywood strip no problem) or you can seat yourself at the smaller tables and put your order in through the bartender when you’re ready. The food… LOBSTERMACANDCHEESE, LOBSTERMACANDCHEESE, LOBSTERMUHFCKINMACANDMUHFCKINCHEESE!!! Fire!!!(Good) I was put into another world after the first bite, yes I was drunk but I still know my food. TRYTHELOBSTERMACANDCHEESEORYOUHAVEN’T BEENBORNYET. Price? I never really pay attention to that when I’m drunk, but my gf didn’t put a knife to my neck the next morning so I’m guessing it was pretty light on the account haha. I think it was like $ 45 for both of us? That’s with drinks. Oh she took me here(just thought I’d give her some credit or she’d call me out on it) Seriously the service here is very good and our food came out in 15 minutes max… I’ll be back in my terminator voice.

Trying out new places in Hollywood before heading to Avalon our group stumbled upon Blue Palms Brewhouse. This establishment shares the same building as the Fonda Theatre so looking for it on google maps is a bit difficult. On that Friday evening the place didn’t seem to busy. I read on other Unilocaler reviews that the service is not all that great but ours that night was awesome. Our waitress, Darby was excellent on attention and also a good sport. As a group we ordered multiple items and shared. Lobster mac and cheese was great. The sausage platter had a good variety of sausages to choose from. The liars fuego sandwich was delicious but lacking the spice(liar!!) but I must say that the roasted habanero was great! With friends, we did a pepper roulette(took a bite and passed it) and we felt the burn! Salty pretzel bites was a good appetizer but the Nachos were disappointing. The only thing I can comment on the nachos is, if you like sweet baked beans, the nachos are for you. All in all I enjoyed my dinner and service. The items are easily sharable and fairly priced. I do want to check out another item which is the truffle burger as it is one of the other featured items on the menu. VERDICT: Rise and repeat.

Where should I start here wow! I have been eyeing this place for the longest time and finally got a chance to stop by after a wonderful show. Small quite brew house on Hollywood Blvd across from the W hotel and the Pantages. Wonderful location, Food is Amazing and about 20 rotating beers on tap daily. Inside really is beautiful. You can look up the brew list online before you go for ideas. TIP — Unless you have been under a rock or never heard about this place or never ever read anything on Unilocal before … Lobster Mac n Cheese!!! is to die for. You will be truly disappointed if you stop by here and watch the person next to you enjoy one of those beautiful dishes and you did not get one. Screw the diets for a night, GETTHELOBSTERMAC N CHEESE!!! TIP: If your going to the Pantages Theater or anything around there, even if you just want to try this place out,. take the underground metro. It lets out about one block from the brew house. I come from the Valley and very often take the metro from Universal straight to there so there is no $ 20.00 — $ 30.00 L.A. parking fee and once I’m done you can even take something like Über back to universal to grab your car. Über will cost you about $ 10.00 for the life back to Universal for up to three people. So no excuses anymore. I expect to see a lot more pictures of that Lobster Mac and Cheese! =)

Love the burgers and beer selection here. The pretzel balls are a great appetizer to get things going. I’m a fan of the Brew and Truffle Burger. I want to try more, and I wish I was fatter so I could consume all 24 beers on tap :-( The place is cramped and it takes a while to get a table. But overall it’s a nice place for dinner and beer.

We swung by with a group of friends before we hit up a concert around the corner from here. This place is much smaller than I had anticipated. It was quite busy when we walked in and when we asked for a table we were quoted 45 min wait. Well we put our name in and headed to the bar. The room has a bunch of tv’s. Some playing sports and some have the revolving tap list. Cool way to the info out there. I ordered a jalapeño margarita and was pleasantly surprised, I was expecting something pretty mediocre. It was lightly sweet, a little tart and spicy. Yum! After about 15 mins were were sat at a table. Not too bad! We all ordered small bites. The mussels and beer were delicious. They came out piping hot! My only gripe is it came out with a slice of white bread. Feels like an injustice is being done to those beautiful mussels by pairing is with plain ol’ white bread. Please, pair it with a more interesting bread! We also ordered the pretzel balls and the sausage plate. The sausage was very flavorful. Overall, I was pretty surprised at how good the food and the drinks were. Service was great too. Great place to get some grub before your night out in Hollywood!

To be perfectly honest, I had just finished an improv grad show at UCB when my group and I came here, so I was on Cloud 9 when I ate at this restaurant/bar/brew house. My review might be a little tainted by the good vibes. Overall, the drinks are pretty darn good here. It’s a brew house so you can expect to find a wall-full of boozy drinks from lagers to wine, gluten-free ciders to trendy beers. I can say from experience that those Pear Anthem Ciders add a sweet finish to anything you order here. I do have a bit of a sweet tooth. The food is not your typical bar food… Unless you’re used to high-end bar food. The menu is very well-rounded, with hefty burgers such as the succulent Truffle Burger, to the favorite sides like the Pretzel Balls & Sweet Potato Fries, and yes… even salads, Lord help me. Oh, and don’t even get me started on that Lobster Mac-n-Cheese. Really, there’s something for everyone. The dessert menu is short, but with options like the Rocky Top– snickers ice cream, Oreo cookies, skor candy bar, & caramel sauce– who needs more? Word of caution: It ain’t cheap! So save those pennies if you’re planning on being a high roller and ordering lots of drinks & food for your friends.

Wanted to check this place out for a while now and was a bit disappointed with the atmosphere. I thought it would be bigger, louder, and fun. The restaurant is small and yes they do have a wide selection of beers on draft. It was pretty quite in there and it’s definitely a place to chill. Sit, eat, drink, and converse. They have a pretty good food menu with different options that all sound delicious. I was here for happy hour so I went with the burger and fries combo! The patty was thick and pretty good on it’s own. It has some herbs in it which made it taste great. I also like the soft bun that they use. The skinny fries were also great! Seasoned well. My bf ordered the truffle burger and YES it was exactly what the menu stated. Delicious. The food was good. This is true. 25 beers on tap. This is true. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. If I were attending something at the Fonda theater next door, I would probably grab a bite to eat and drink here but that’s pretty much it.

Stopped here before heading to Create Nightclub for a quick bite. I can honestly say that everything was pretty sub-par. The food is nothing special, their service is nothing special, and the ambiance is nothing special. The only thing that brought me here was the reviews that the establishment had when we were looking for a local place. I had the Imperial Burger with Fries and to be honest I would’ve preferred In N Out. It is $ 16 for the Imperial Burger. PASSERINO

My buddy drove up from San Diego to see a taping of the Late Late Show with James Corden. When that wrapped up, we used Unilocal to find a place to get a birthday dinner for him as his birthday was at midnight. After dinner I turned to my cousin who lives in LA, and she recommended the Blue Palms Brewhouse. We arrived to a crazy scene of EDM fans who were seeing a concert next door. I figured a bar on Hollywood Blvd. couldn’t be that great and we’d just have one beer and then bounce, but boy was I wrong. Instantly we got into a great conversation with our bartender CLAIRE. We were talking about old school indie/emo bands like Jimmy Eat World and The Ataris. She actually took great care in helping us pick our beers, and at midnight she made some birthday cake shots. All in all it was a great night meeting great people(and not so great people) at the bar. Will definitely come back to pay Claire a visit next time I’m in this area.

Another recommended burger spot. Had the happy hour brew burger $ 8! You can taste the meat quality(Kobe), but I think I have gotten used to lower quality. It was super tender and had a little more pepper to it. Very good, the onions could be roasted or carmelized longer-they were a little strong. I highly recommend it, also for their tap list, but it wasn’t my favorite.

Fantastic selection of limited beers from Russian River and all over the world. The food was surprisingly good, had the truffle burger and spicy steak sandwich, both excellent and would gladly repeat next time. Pricing was very good, $$. Parking is a little tricky but there is a garage around the corner for LA Fitness parking. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Great beer selection. Great service. Waitress was so sweet and attentive. Fried chicken sandwich — unimpressive. Both the cheese and sauce were out of place. Lobster Mac — really unimpressive. Was not a fan. The sauce was lacking and the bits of lobster did not compensate. Fish and chips — very thin fries. Good.

This place has a lot going for it– a great beer list, creative vegetarian options, and a location right on Hollywood Blvd. I came here with a friend prior to a show at the pantages and I really appreciated the ease at which we were able to get a seat, and the ability to get a reasonably priced meal a few blocks away. My friend and I shared a sausage plate and fries, and for two girls who weren’t starving, it was the perfect amount of food. I wish the beer list had more variety, there were a lot of ipas and stouts on our visit, but the quality was there. For all the Pliny heads out there, they had it on draft during my visit. They charge $ 1 for tasters, which is a bit annoying considering they really are just small tastes, but I believe if you order the beer you tried then you don’t have to pay for it.

Stopped by this place before catching a movie at the Arclight. Was pleasantly surprised. I forgot what IPA they had on tap, but it was really good and reasonably priced. I also got their prime rib sandwich, which was absolutely great, and reasonably priced. Prime rib was a great medium rare, bread was tasty and toasted, and the au jus was good enough to drink on its own. It also came with a side; I highly recommend the onion rings. I think if I lived closer I would probably come to this place more often, but this is now my pre-movie-go-to bar/restaurant in Hollywood.

We also ordered the Mac-n-Cheese, it was good and had great flavor but the noodles were slightly overcooked and kept falling apart.

It was date night and we just went to see Riverdance(freakin amazing show!!)! I hate being in crowds and getting out of crowds… So I said lets get a bite to eat afterwards so we can wait til the parking lot empties out. There were a few choices but we chose Blue Palm. We walk in and what do I hear playing??? SKIDROW! I was like… This is a wonderful! Our waitress was really kind and sweet. We ordered wings and rings which the wings were seriously really good! The onion rings were pretty good… My wife ordered fish and chips and I ordered Lobster Mac n Cheese. My wife didn’t say much about her food other than their fries being really good but my lobster Mac n cheese was freakin amazing! I loved it! Thank God my wife said we should order a full order and not a half order, cause I couldn’t finish it. Sooo… I get to eat more as left overs! So happy! Check this place out, they play rad 80’s Rock music, they have good service, and they have great food! I have only one complaint actually… Update your bathroom guys… The pig trough urinal was outdated about 20 years ago, lol.

Since yesterday we decided to go to Pantages and watch the final performance of Beauty and the Beast, we stopped here to grab a bite before walking over to the theatre. I’ll start by saying this place has a really good vibe, it felt cozy and fun. They have a very extensive selection of beers. I had a wheat beer, something Hefeweizen like. It was good! My husband ordered the Liars Fuego burger and I ordered the Truffle burger. We both ordered the fries with truffle oil and blue cheese. I’ll start with the Fuego burger. WOW I did not realize it was going to be that hot when I took my first big bite. I am so glad I only had a half of it and not the entire sandwich because I would have been in trouble!!! It is super tasty, the meat was warm and a little salty… it was delicious. But holy crap it was so spicy!!! The Truffle burger was good, but I can say I’ve had better. I ordered it medium rare but yet it still felt a little overcooked for my taste. The condiments were fantastic though, and the bread was mushy from all the oils. Overall I really liked it, it was good. Now onto my favorite part of dinner, the fries!!! OHMYGOD. Delicious!!! The blue cheese crumbles were all over the place! The fries were perfectly skinny, with enough oil soaked up to make you gain 5 pounds on the spot. They were so damn good, I ate the entire bucket by myself! The only thing I noticed that I would say needs some improvement(but not enough to take down a star) would be the service. We got everything in a timely manner yes, but the wait staff is so scattered that I did not who was out main waitress the entire time we were there. I like to at least know who I’m tipping at the end of the evening. Definitely coming back to this one!

I like beer, I used to obsess over beer, and would hunt down rare beer places. I’ve gotten a bit older and more mature. However, I still enjoy going into a beer bar which has a good selection of beers. For the most part I like the blue palms, but I am a bit on the fence about some of the way things are done here. The last few times I have been here they will have like 20 – 25 different beer on tap, but they were have like 11 beers by one brewery 10 by another and then a few extras. It’s like they always have some sort of tap takeover. I actually prefer there to be more variety of breweries. For instance, I’m not a huge fan of firestone, but they always seem to have a lot of beer from firestone. The service can be a little spotty, however I understand they are next to a concert venue and the bartender can get pretty busy so I’m not really gonna knock them too hard for it. The food has also been pretty decent from what I have eaten. At the same time, I really just feel they are a-ok. I will probably go back in the future though.

Craft beer — check. Pretty good scotch selection — check. Vegan sausage with several options — check.(I tried the vegan smoked apple sage — it was OK, not really memorable. My standards for meat substitutes are fairly low though — generally just happy to find them on a menu) Plenty of carnivorous grub for everyone else — check. Casual vibe, works for a group or a date. I came on a Wednesday night though so it was fairly calm. Service was friendly and quick.

Steelers fans and vegans REJOICE! This is your bar!!! I am neither and had a kick ass time here. My friend– a vegan– was elated. She usually goes through a menu and has to pick something that is merely ok, and still customize it to where it fits her dietary concerns. That was not the case here. She actually had a hard time deciding because there were too many options. From sandwiches to salads to meatballs(four different types!), she was in heaven. Being a carnivore, I ordered the pull chicken sandwich which was equally awesome. A solid portion of pulled chicken was sandwiched between bbq sauce and cheese. I asked for some lettuce and onion and they happily obliged as well, no additional fee required. You’re also not stuck with just fries but can choose from a plethora of sides. As for the football. I was rooting for my Chargers as I was walking in, but seeing all the Steelers jerseys and excitement with the crowd, couldn’t help but watch both games. The bar had a great energy and it wasn’t too overly crowded to get annoying. The beer selection was stellar with over twenty different beers. Both local brews and regional ones were offered with happy hour specials during the game. While this isn’t the fanciest or most exciting bar I’ve ever been to, it does make up for it in uniqueness and hospitality. Definitely a great place to visit if you’re a vegan, craft beer or Steelers fan. If not, it’ll probably win you over anyway.

Easily my favorite pub in LA, would go here every day if the wife let me! I still make it down 3 or 4 days/nights a week, 24 revolving taps of of craft beer from around the country so there’s never ever any question of finding something to drink! If you aren’t a beer fan they also have a really impressive list of both Scotch whisky and American whiskey, there are other spirits too but I don’t know anything about them. The food is simple but good comfort eating pub grub, I love the sausage plates, the sandwiches and the burgers! The décor is nothing fancy but it’s perfectly nice and doesn’t have any cheesy hipster themes going on at all. and of course the bar staff are all top notch people! Protip: check the website to see what beers are on draught and also what the daily specials are.

Came here with my boyfriend prior to a Mortified LA show a couple of blocks away. We ordered tuna melt, fish & chips, three beers and their only dessert: The Rocky Top. My boyfriend said his fish & chips were alright. I’m very particular with my tuna melts and I love love love this one! The sweet potato fries were delectable as well! As for the beers, my boyfriend got two and I got one beer. I like their lambic beer selection. The chocolate beer I had was initially okay but got increasingly bitter. I personally think that the highlight of this dinner was the rocky top dessert. I love ice cream, and I’ve had my fair share of delicious ice cream desserts. However, out of everything I’ve tried, this dessert definitely took the cake. The serving is huge too, so you might want to share it with an inordinate number of friends. Both the service and ambiance were okay. Nothing spectacular overall but I’d come back for the dessert and tuna melt any day.

Happy hour and food review. Happy hours vary: Monday to Thursday — happy hour is 4 – 6:30PM for select food and drink specials. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — happy hour DRINKS are ALLDAY, but HH food does not start until 4PM. Upon entering, the space is quite dark. There are lots of small tables scattered throughout and ample bar seating. The server greeted us promptly. We arrived during lunch time on a Friday and were informed that it was happy hour, at least as far as drinks were concerned. HH food did not start until later in the day. The selection of beers, which rotates regularly, can be viewed on projection screens above both the bar and windows. Happy hour beers are designated by(HH). Also, their website and facebook will show updated selections after they open for the day. Service was very friendly and helpful. They have a nice list of beers available. Even at regular prices, the beer is reasonable at about $ 6 – 8. The French dip sandwich($ 15) and Imperial Burger #2($ 16) were surprisingly good and were served with our side of choice — tasty, crispy sweet potato fries. Pretzel balls($ 6) were warm, soft, and chewy. tip — on Tuesdays, ALL draft beers are $ 4ALLNIGHT, as long as long as there is no show scheduled on that day at the Fonda Theatre next door. parking — metered for $ 2/hr with maximum of 2 hrs, parking lot next door charges $ 10 before 6PM

Great place to go after watching a show at the Pantages Theater across the street. My friend and I ordered the Truffle Burger with the Lobster Mac n Cheese and the Imperial Burger with White Truffle Oil French Fries. I really enjoyed my Imperial Burger. It was juicy, flavorful and filling. My fries however were slightly greasy. I’m not sure if it was due to the truffle oil or because the fry oil wasn’t hot enough. My friend found her Truffle Burger to be too heavy on the blue cheese. But she really liked her shellfish mac n cheese. Overall the food was a hit or miss.
