Absolutely loved it! The food can get pricey, but it was sooooo good!!! The sushi chef made anything we wanted that wasn’t on the boat. We Ioved the band the plates sat on detailing the name and ingredients of the sushi. All of the ones we chose were amazing. The waitress was okay, seemed like everyone else has better service than we did but sitting by the boat, the sushi chef was more that happy to oblige. He seemed to be watching the customers to see what was needed sushi wise. The chicken teriyaki plate we ordered for the kids was just okay. Luckily, the edamame, avocado sushi, rice, and fresh fruit was filling enough for them. Oh! Happy hour every day from 3−8pm. Too bad we missed it but we will be back next time!

Decided to come back after a while and they have improved with customer service immensely. I am so glad to be able to have somewhere to go and feel like they really are focused on making sure each and every customer is listened to and cared for. Their sushi has always been delicious and their happy hour never disappoints, so I’m thankful their staff has stepped up their potential and really shone through. I am glad to be saying I will recommend this place again and again, and note the kindness shown by their crew! Thanks, Blue C.

While I love the ambiance of this place(especially the restroom that makes you feel like you’re pissing at a train station), the food itself is average at best. Stay away from the sweets like brownies, chocolate chip cookies, etc. as they are gluten free and very dry. As for the sushi, it’s all rather bland. The California Roll is the only one that I’ve had here that actually tastes pretty decent. Happy Hour is of course the time to go here. All plates are $ 3. Happy Hour goes from 3p-6p. and 9p.-closing. Outside of Happy Hour, plates range from $ 2.50 all th way up to $ 6.50, depending on the color of the plate you’ve selected. I’ve now been to two Blue C Sushi’s — this one and the one in Seattle, and I suppose I would still go back during Happy Hour for a quick bite. Again, nothing really special about the food here. It’s just cheap sushi.

I ordered a basic tuna roll with brown rice, it looked terrible and tasted not much better, however my wife’s friend ordered Tina with avocado with white rice which was more robust looking. Overall the sushi was not fresh. Items on the conveyer belt were not replaced. Service sucked, no dishes removed from the table, as we finished. Our server was friendly but not very good. Miso soup was good. Unusually long waits for salmon bowl & sashimi. The space is very nice very cool décor, above average prices. Huge bathrooms with the temp set at 50 degrees. Parking is tough in this area

YOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! If you’re looking for some FIRE sushi, this is the spot. Looking to make your typical dinner and a movie sensational?(it’s right next to arc light) Go to Blue C. Really can’t top the price for the quality. This is about to be my new sushi spot. I wasn’t even hungry, but I ATE. I ATEGOOD. The fish was all FRE$H. The agedashi tofu was FIRE. The yellowtail Kama was FIRE. The sushi was FIRE. The sashimi was FIRE. Nothing was not [fire emoji]!! Now… it doesn’t stop there. The AMBIENCEYO! Way bigger than any other revolving sushi and it was groovy. The décor is all. The music was enjoyable. Date place? Oh yeah! FINALLY, the server. Maria was SENSATIONAL(future voice). She was very attentive, but definitely not one of those servers who butt in every five seconds. In one word?(again) SENSATIONAL. Not only was the her service great, I was never mad to see her if you know what I mean. Eyebrows on point for sure. I saw some ladies admiring. No doubt. I’m sure all the other servers are great, but Maria yo! [fire emojiX100] The manager working at the time(glasses) was very kind too, I used to work at a restaurant and I saw him making sure everything everything was on point. [fire emoji x20] DEFINITELYCOMINGHEREAGAIN — I’D COMEHEREEVERYDAYIF I COULD(I’m a broke boi :-( SOMEONECALLTHEFIREDEPARTMENT, THEREISTOOMUCHFIREHERE.

As you surely have gathered from photos, the restaurant description and other reviews, the centerpiece of this sushi restaurant is that the sushi is distributed on a conveyor belt. Sushi chefs furiously assemble rolls and put them on plates on the belt. Diners watch the plates go by and grab the ones that look good. It’s fun. It’s different. It’s how they do it in certain sushi joints in Japan. The sushi itself. It’s pretty boring. The rolls on the plates are much smaller than comparable-priced fare at other restaurants. Truth be told, the quality is just fair. It’s not much different than the stuff you can get at Ralph’s. Blue C is a short walk from a Kabuki restaurant(on Vine, just North of Sunset), which has much higher quality of food and generally costs less. This place is fun and unique for its conveyor belt style service, but overall not recommended if you really just want good sushi.

Amazing!!! The ambience is super cool. Revolving sushi bar and super duper easy to get the hang of the menu and how it all works. Happy hour is amaze balls and I suggest you take advantage of that. But what really stood out to me was their service. Our server was Bryant. Super cool guy and totally went above and beyond for me and all my friends. Will be coming back for sure :)

The food here is so amazing! I love revolving sushi and this place makes a great atmosphere with its service! Our server Bryant was always on point when ever we wanted anything. I HAVE to mention the videos on the tv were wacky and I couldn’t stop laughing at them.

I’ve heard so many things about this Blue C Sushi that I made sure it was on my «agenda» while I was visiting and I was not disappointed. I made it just in time for happy hour(3PM-6PM) with an empty stomach. I had Joe as my server & he was simply phenomenal! Very informative of specials & favorites following the trait of attentive, where my glass was never half empty. While sitting, a complementary plate of edamame was dropped off! I already fell in love, lol! I got both the Pacific & the Alaskan roll, both which are considered«specialty rolls» but because of Happy Hour, I enjoyed my rolls for $ 3/plate. Chef Sisco outdid himself & I made sure I came back a second time around before I left. Note: all rolls are 4 pieces! Highly recommended!

The first time I came here, I set the bar way too high. It had just opened, I was enraptured by the idea of conveyor belt sushi and was overly excited to have a new pre/post Arclight spot. That, coupled with running into a recently engaged ex by the bar while heading toward to bathroom, totally sealed Blue C’s fate for me. And then I came for late night happy hour, and regained some warm fuzzies for this place. Their happy hour is unreal. $ 3 for any plate on the conveyor(plus if you don’t see your desired plate on the belt, they’ll make it for you). Some plates will even come out to $ 2.50(the ones with the gray rim — surprise!). There’s also a $ 3 drink list, and they’re open on Friday/Saturday until midnight. I came here with friends and had a great experience pulling off plates and lowkey stuffing our faces. My only consistent gripes that remain, even after a $ 3 glass of plum wine sangria, is that while the nigiri is ok the cut rolls are a little shabby, and that it can take awhile for them to replenish the options on the belt. Not a five star 100% vote of confidence, but I think it’s ok to keep this option in mind for happy hour if you’re in the area and have been curious to check it out.

Happy hour after a movie is always a good idea. Came here after watching Danish Girl at the AMC dome. What attracted me to it was their revolving conveyor belt, the brightly colored yet minimalist looking interior, & their happy hour! FOOD: Like most revolving sushi conveyor belts, you just need to have a good eye for which plates look the freshest because some plates have definitely been a bit longer than others. We got a taste of the crunch roll, caterpillar roll, & some nigiri(seared ahi tuna in particular). I enjoyed the sweet and chili sauce that paired with the caterpillar roll. The sushi is moderate size, not the freshest quality. Plates range from $ 2-$ 6. DRINKS: Also included in happy hour, sangria was delicious & red wine was great. Drinks were cheap & crisp. Not too strong but gives you a quick alcoholic taste. SERVICE: Blue C is easy eats and right by the theater so convenience is key here if that’s what you’re looking for. The waiters check up on your and seat you quickly. Sometimes they need to be reminded of things they missed after your first ask. The look and design of the place is fun, the happy hour is enjoyable because it lasts for about 4 hours(2:00−6:00PM, I believe), BUT there are plenty more places to venture to. Give it a try but a one time visit is good enough.

I’ve been coming here for ages due to its close proximity to the Arclight, but only recently did it figure out its true calling: Happy hour. These days happy hour runs 3−6pm every day and recently again from 9-close with beer, wine and EVERYTHING on the belt priced at $ 3 apiece. Most things on the menu are also $ 3, but they have many sections and who has the time or interest in a Unilocal review. POINTBEING, this place basically has happy hour all the time, every day and is a much better deal as this has effectively halved the price on many things. It’s also busier, so people must have noticed. The sushi here is pretty good. It is better than nearby cheap sushi option SushiStop and better, cheaper and not nearly as obnoxious as the local Katsuya. It’s decidedly in the crazy roll camp of sushi, so if you’re looking for Jiro it might be best to pass. The people here are also super nice. It’s actually a good place for people who aren’t all that into sushi as they have some zanier fusion options, little teriyaki bowls, and salad and noodle dishes. There’s a deep fried brownie thing for seriously criminally small amount of money that’s pretty good too… It’s a great option before a movie because well, it’s fast. Plus conveyer belts are fun! If only beer and wine came around on it. I suppose now it’s a pretty good place to grab a cheap drink AFTER a movie. Anyway, there’s a chance I’m headed there now. See if we can keep it under 6 items apiece. I doubt it…

I had a great time at my introductory visit to Blue C Sushi over a year ago at a Unilocal Elite event. One of the night’s perks was a $ 20 gift card for future use. Wanting the bf to try another type of conveyor belt sushi, we finally found a free weekend to make the long drive to Hollywood. We arrived around 8 pm, and there were plenty of seating. We picked up over $ 90 worth of plates to try, including a gluten free chocolate chip cookie that bf liked. What was disappointing was that they ran out of the uni that we wanted to order and when we tried to order the loaded potato roll, the sushi chef had already packed up the ingredients for it. Luckily, third time’s the charm, and third request, an order of the spicy tuna on crispy rice, was available. Service was decent. There were times we had to wait for our server to come our way to flag her for water refills and roll orders. When it came time to pay the bill, that’s when more issues occured. They tried running my gift card through 3x and also tried to manually apply it. Apparently, the card was never activated! Doing a quick search on this Unilocal page, it looks like I wasn’t the only one with the same problem. The manager on duty was very nice but not able to assist much, as she was new to this location and was not present at the Unilocal event I attended last year. Luckily later on that week, after some communication, Blue C Sushi was able to right the error. Validated parking is $ 3 at the structure right by Blue C.

I had seen Blue C Sushi several times while in the area, and really wanted to try it. I didn’t like it all. I hate the entire idea of the conveyor belt. You have raw sushi sitting on a plate, and going around in a circle over and over again. How can that be properly refrigerated. The sushi I grabbed off the conveyor belt had bacon in it and it was okay. I ordered the sushi tacos, and the serving was very small. The tacos were okay, but at that price there needed to be more on the plate. When the guy brought me the tacos, he handed them to me over the conveyor belt — he didn’t even come around to my table to serve me properly. And a few times, I tried to grab a plate off the conveyor belt — and it went speeding passed me. LOL ! My sushi ran away from me !

Blue C Sushi is a pretty good, inexpensive sushi option in Hollywood — especially for happy hour from 3 – 6 p.m. on weekdays. I enjoy the novelty of the conveyer belt sushi a lot. It’s fun and easy to just grab plates as they twirl around the restaurant without having to interact with a waiter or a chef directly. However, I am also pretty wary of how long exactly the plates have been twirling around out there before you grab them. The plates are color-coded according to price(ranging from $ 2.50 to $ 6), which can be tricky because you have to make the call really fast before the plate passes you by and twirls on without you. Or you can just sit outside and not deal with this stress. Happy hour is really the time to go. I’ve enjoyed all the rolls I’ve gotten, and the service has always been great when I’ve gone. I can’t say the same about their non-sushi«signature options.» They talk up the loaded baked potato($ 6) a lot — it’s Japanese potato salad gunkan topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, sour cream, chives, bonito and caviar. Man, some things just don’t go together. Baked potato and sushi do not go together. Anyway, I enjoy having Blue C Sushi in the neighborhood! It’s a good choice for a casual sushi dinner before a movie at the ArcLight or having a low-key evening out in Hollywood.

I came here yesterday with a few friends. They have a great happy hour: all plates are $ 3 and draft Sapporos are $ 3 as well. I usually go to Little Tokyo to get my conveyor belt sushi fix so I was pleased to find a place a bit closer to home. I had five plates and a beer and it ran me just under $ 20. They also validate parking(it’ll still cost you $ 3 for 2 hours but that’s really not bad considering the area). The service was great too! The manager(I believe, since she wasn’t in uniform) was attentive to our needs and even though we paid a little after happy hour ended she made sure we were charged happy hour prices. There was some confusion for us as to how to get the attention of a server… It turns out there is a blue button on the wall, and if you push that it illuminates and someone will swing by and check up on you. I highly recommend coming during happy hour(weekdays 3pm-6pm)! Otherwise it can be a bit pricey(prices are based on the color of the plates and those are listed on the wall — some run as high as $ 6).

You can’t expect«gourmet» Sushi at a Kaiten(kah ee ten)/revolving Sushi restaurant even in Japan. The very nature of freshness in traditional Edomae(eh doh mah eh) Sushi is by creating each order one at a time. The conveyor belt production technique necessitates making the Sushi & letting it revolve around until it is taken by the consumer to be eaten X number of minutes after it is initially placed on the belt. Blue C does a good job of creating acceptable Nigiri/hand molded Sushi as well as the Maki/rolls. The Kaiten system is ideal for people on a schedule to go back to work or going to a scheduled event since all you have to do is pick the Sushi you want. No muss or fuss. If there is something you want to order that is not on the belt, you can always ask the Sushi chef to make it for you. The few items that need to be kept warm such as Gyo-za(ghee yoh zah)/pork dumplings have a flame under them. The theme to this restaurant harks to the To-kyo– subway system with its various color coded lines. Their motto, «Mawaru Gochiso-» can be translated to a Revolving/rotating Feast. 1) Spider Roll: Tempura soft shell crab, avocado, cucumber, masago/smelt fish roe, mayo, rice and nori/Japanese dark green seaweed paper. 2) Pacific Roll: Seemed to have fried coconut shrimp, avocado, bit of snow crab, Red colored Masago roe, Thai style sweet chile sauce for a Southeast Asian flavor slant. 3) Tempura Shrimp roll seemed to be slathered w/a mayonnaise/sriracha chile sauce blend that added a mildly spicy unctuous tone. 4) Gyo-za: ground pork dumpling pan fried on one side, turned & a bit of brothadded to steam. 5) Chicken Katsu Bowl: Panko(pahn koh) breaded & fried, cut up over Japanese short grain steamed rice, dab of sweet«eel sauce» garnished w/Edamame & pickled cucumber infused w/red Shiso/Japanese basil. 6) Udon Bowl: Udon is the thick chewy wheat noodles with cubes of To-fu, Edamame, slivers of Nori. The broth was unusual because it was flavoured with So-su/Japanese Tonkatsu sauce which is a taste reminiscent of Worchester sauce. 7) Edamame: standard soy bean in its pod boiled & sprinkled w/Kosher salt. 8) Age Dashi(ah geh dah shee) To-fu: Cubes of To-fu covered in a light, thin batter & fried to a crisp in a light Dashi/broth probably made from Katsuo Bushi/bonito flakes that adds a touch of ocean meaty Umami. This was quite well executed. 1−8a) Sapporo Draft beer was paired with the above. Bright hops, golden Pilsner-like brew that also had a refreshing yeastiness, light acidity & sweet, smooth finish. The color coding for prices: Hibiya Line Grey: $ 2.50 Ginza Line Orange: $ 3.50 Yu-rakucho– Line Red: $ 4.00 To-zai Line Light Blue: $ 4.75 Mita Line Dark Blue: $ 5.25 Hanzo-mon Line Purple: $ 6.00 Three of us shared this meal & it came to about $ 22 per person tax & tip included. We came out full to the gills. Considering how much we had eaten, it was overall a good deal. 3+ Unilocal stars.

Patio sashimi dining before movie, there are a few restaurants in this ArcLight cinemas complex, certainly couldn’t do veggie grill or Stella Bara pizzeria, cause hubby can’t do vegan I can’t do carbs, and I saw the banner says it’s organic sustainable, that’s good for environment for sure. It was a lovely early evening, not too warm or too cold, the perfect weather for patio dining! It was peak time for the restaurant, we chose to sit at a tall table in the patio, more quiet and relaxing. It’s great that they have a regular menu, not just the dishes on sushi belt. We started off with bottle of Kubota Senju, it was around $ 55, definitely not overpriced. I just love this sake, stronger and very smooth. Starters: Miso soups, spicy edamame and hamachi tacos: I have been a little addicted to miso soup lately, I can’t seem to get enough of it, but it’s good, very healthy! Spicy edamame was so good, spicy and strong flavors. Hamachi tacos were fresh and delicious, liked them a lot. Entrée: Sashimi platter, 30 pieces of chef’s choices of sashimi for $ 45, great deal if you ask me! They were surprisingly fresh and tasty! The sashimi was perfect for us that evening cause we weren’t too hungry from the big dim sum brunch in the afternoon. The food was very fresh and yummy, the service was very slow at first, but after peak time, all the servers were very attentive and fast, everybody was extremely friendly! Finished our meal with Mochi ice cream, just enough sweet to balance out the light sashimi dinner. What a pleasant patio dining experience, I absolutely loved it, definitely a great spot before a movie in Hollywood!
