BBQ was really good, I recommend the beef ribs. There sides are delicious, try the bbq beans and mac and cheese! Not like any other place. Fun Spot to watch a game, they have flat screen tvs throughout the whole restaurant and 1 big screen with a projector. They have $ 5 draft beer during happy hour I enjoyed the pilsner. They also have valet parking $ 7. Our server was extremely friendly and gave us great service, he always made sure our cups were full and kept coming back to us, making sure everything was perfect 5 stars

Best chicken I have ever tasted in my life! The hype is real, and this is the best BBQ in Los Angeles. This place has a cool vibe also. You can take a date here and have drinks at the bar or watch a game. I highly recommend!

TBH this place was OK, I don’t see what the hype is. We came 1 hour before closing time so they have already sold out on the ribs, lean brisket, sausages, and brisket ends. So we ordered the pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. We also got potato salad and collard greens as sides. The meats were ok, no wow-factor. My favorite part of the meal was probably the potato salad; it was very well seasoned and not overly mushy. The BBQ sauce tasted great, but the consistency was too thick for my liking. We got the spicy and it definitely has enough of a kick to it. If I do come back, it is to try the other items on the menu that were sold out(maybe better luck with those?), other than that, a second visit is unlikely.

If you need a place that has sexy delicious BBQ along with your favorite sports game, Bludso’s is the place to go! Arguably the best BBQ in the LA area. Simple, affordable, and satisfying menu(but how do you go wrong with a BBQ menu. am i right??). Extremely accommodating for large parties, especially since they are willing to take reservations even during happy hour(5PM-7PM)! Ordering for large parties is also a breeze with the option to get the small(feeds 6 – 8) or large(feeds 10 – 12) party trays, which have a variety of all the good stuff aka the BBQ and side dishes, all for one fixed price. As for the food itself… well I did say it was sexy delicious in my opening sentence and I meant it. My group ordered a party tray so I was able to try a bit of everything, but I’ll focus on my favorites: brisket and ribs. Most brisket I’ve had tends to be dry and chewy but this was in its own league. Juicy, smoky, sexy, delicious. The ribs(even the brisket) could easily be eaten without any BBQ sauce because of the rich dry rub. Not to say the rest of the food wasn’t great but the brisket and ribs were what stood out to me the most. You also have 2 options for BBQ sauce: spicy and not. I personally couldn’t tell the difference between the two but all sauce I had made my food sexier and deliciousier. To top it off, the huge portions left all of us full and we had many leftovers. Service on point. I have only been to Bludso’s with large parties and our servers were excellent every time. All were friendly and speedy as we ordered and received our food so quickly without feeling rushed. The restaurant atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. It can get loud if there’s a sports game but that’s expected. They can only split the bill among 4 cards but we are in a new age so each one of you Unilocalians should already have Venmo, Chase Quickpay, or whatever money transferring app of choice! The CONS: Parking Parking is probably my biggest complaint but that’s not Bludso’s fault so I didn’t subtract any stars. Damn you LA parking. They do have valet parking for $ 7 but you can get lucky and find street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods but pay attention to the signs! If you’ve made it this far into the review, thank you, and I apologize if my adjectives of «sexy and delicious» to describe you made you uncomfortable but check it out yourself and you will see…

Best BBQEVER. Get the pork ribs and a new menu fixture, the beef short ribs. I’m not much for beef ribs but these were amazing. Fall off the bone tender. Sides of Mac and cheese and collared greens were fresh and hot. The service was superb. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely coming back.

Really delicious bbq! They serve everything family style which is great because you can order different things and make your own plate. We drank a couple cocktails such as the Jackpot and the Texas margarita which were both really good! The customer service was a highlight for us. Our server was Khari and he was very attentive and offered suggestions. We had our drinks and food within 5 minutes of ordering them. Do try the brisket and the chicken sausage links !

Been here a few times and it is usually pretty solid but I stopped by this evening and the only thing solid was this 3 star rating. For one, I have had the same(I believe her name is Rochelle?) server at Bludso’s 3+ times and the reason I am able to remember her is because of her very cold-shoulder attitude and abruptness. Not exactly sure why you are working as a waitress/server if you prefer being abrupt and not very people-oriented? I digress… On to the food, we placed an order for a pound of brisket and some sides and literally 2 – 3 minutes after we order our food comes out which tells me that the meat/sides have been probably sitting out for a while especially since our food was pretty damn cold(cold BBQ is not the business). My buddy complained to one of the server/bus boy’s about the cold mac n cheese and we had to follow up with him again before he simply replied saying«it’s not possible, our food is very fresh» OK, then… Not very impressed and moving on I will be sticking to the Compton location to get my BBQ fix-in.

This maaay be the best BBQ I have had in an age. Maybe. I don’t want to betray my other favorites, but Bludso’s certainly held a candle to them. A big one. The dry rub on these ribs is ridiculous. You would almost think that they don’t need sauce, but then you’d try it and realize that they take very well to it, as well as to that little bottle of serrano-infused apple cider vinegar that sits on your table. And to some cornbread and beans. The brisket is so soft you could eat it with a spoon. The spice rub on the chicken has the most lovely and complex smoky flavor. Add the drinks, and three TV’s on each wall? We’ve got a heavyweight contender here, folks!

Whenever we are craving for some good bbq, we come here. The ribs are fall off the bone good. The only thing I didn’t care for was the brisket. It was a bit too peppery. Enjoyed all the sides and corn bread. It’s a cute place and good vibe.

FINALLY. And happy to report, totally worth the hype. Came in today for a company luncheon and ordered a couple of trays. There were 9 of us and we couldn’t finish all of it. Ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, mac ‘n cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, pickles, cornbread, collard greens… good gracious! And a couple of pitchers of Shiner Bock to wash it all down. The meat was all juicy, tender, well-seasoned, and the smoke on it was just enough to add flavor without completely overpowering the meat. I hate having barbeque and feeling like I spent the entire lunch hour just inhaling the contents of a chimney. Can’t wait to come back and try their famous banana pudding!

The bbq at this joint is finger licking good. My recommendations would be the lean brisket and pork ribs. The beef short ribs are okay, but you get more from pork ribs. The sides are amazing, especially baked beans and Mac and cheese. Bf and I ordered about 2 lbs of meat and had enough for the next day

My brother was here from Australia and wanted to try some southern BBQ for dinner before we headed to the comedy store. The service was very quick and and the server was very friendly. We decided to get the plater that feeds 6 – 8 people(even though there as only 4 of us). There was a lot of left overs that we ate over the next 2 days. Would i come back here? — If we were in the area maybe. the original location in Compton i believe is better.

Dude. Dude. DUDEEEE! The food here is AMAZING. I came here on a Saturday, a few minutes before they opened. They opened promptly at Noon! I love when people are on time! The service here was great. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming when we walked in. Now, I eat a lot! And I just worked out that morning and hadn’t eaten anything really, so I was ready for a lot of food. My bf and I ordered ¼ of the rib tips(which came with 3 pieces), ½ rack of Pork Ribs, ¼ lb of Brisket, medium mac and cheese, medium coleslaw and 1 piece of cornbread. It didn’t really look like that much food when it came out, but man, we were STUFFED. I’m Asian, and I love allllll the cartilage, so I could’ve eaten a whole pound of the rib tips myself. They were SO good. Actually, everything was really good. There was so much meat on the ribs, and they were huge! I love that they put the sauce on the side, I don’t like it when the meat is drenched in sauce. The mac and cheese was so… cheesy and delicious. I didn’t want to share it with my bf. I wanted to hoard it all for myself. The coleslaw was not drenched in sauce, which was awesome. We saw that they have beef ribs too, which are my fav ribs, but they only have it for dinner. So i’ll definitely have to return to try those. I can’t wait to go back!

Heaven is a place on earth and it’s called Bludso’s. So this is supposed to be e new must eat place in LA. Believe the hype. Bludso’s rocks on every level. The food is authentic, tasty and wonderful(especially the pulled pork). Something to wash the bbq taste away? There is a great selection of beer. No worries there’s also soft drinks and wine. The staff at Bludso’s do everything to make every visit unforgettable. There can be a line but believe me that’s worth it. A visit to Bludso’s is a visit to the culinary south right in Los Angeles. My favorite place to eat in the city of Angeles.

Originated in the heart of Compton and quickly regarded as the best BBQ in LA. NOW — it’s conveniently located on La Brea just a few blocks from my apartment. YESYESYES, WELCOMETOTHENEIGHBORHOOD!!! Awesome set up. So many TV’s and the perfect place to catch the game. Sunday football and BBQ? Lakers and BBQ? = Perfect. My visit was long overdue, but I’m so happy I finally got to try it. Their menu is simple but plentiful — consists of meats, sides, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks. For 2 people, we ordered: + brisket(¼ pound) — SO tender, moist, and flavorful — my favorite and definitely a must order. + pork ribs(quarter) — Aight. Sorry the brisket stole my heart. + Texas red hot beef link — My boyfriend and I are into spicy food and we loved it. If you like spice, this is a must. + baked beans — THEBESTBEANSEVER! For sure– get the beans! + mac and cheese — omg… really went well with all the BBQ and so decadent and creamy and goooood. + cornbread — Also really good. And it would be wrong for me not to mention how AMAZING Bludso’s sauce is. I wish I saved room for dessert — by the end of our meal we had leftovers and I was SO full. I’ll be sure to come with a bigger group next time so we can try more of the menu.

Whenever I go to LA, I make sure to checkout Bludso’s because I think it’s hard to find other places that beat their quality. I have lived in California long enough to confess that it is super hard to find high quality barbecue. With most places their food is only edible if you cover the meat in sauce(or they do that for you), due their meat being so dry. However, Bludso’s is not like that. Their ribs are perfectly seasoned and very tender, and probably my favorite item. The reason that I am giving them a 4 star is because their quality of their brisket is not consistent. There were times that I went there and their brisket was kind of dry, but usually the brisket that they serve is moist and tender. Their chicken is good too, but I am not a big fan of chicken when there is brisket and ribs. Some of the staff are really friendly, and some of them aren’t. Thus, the service is OK. They have lots of tables inside and a few tables outside. Sometimes, it is super loud inside(well, they are a sports bar), and that is why I prefer the outside seating. Their beer selection is not bad, and they have a full bar!

Where better to take your man on a date than to a bbq spot! THEAMBIANCE: When I walked into Bludso’s I felt like I was in the outdoors camping. Wood everywhere. The tables are bench-style and there is a large wooden bar. A beer was in order! THEFOOD: The barbecue was great! We tried the brisket and the pork ribs. It is pricey but worth it. It fell off the bone and was very tasty. The sides, on the other hand, were underwhelming :/We tried the mac n cheese, potato salad, baked beans, and corn bread. The mac n cheese was the best out of the sides we tried. I have to say it was really different. It had a thickness to it and I enjoyed its uniqueness. The potato salad and corn bread were«meh.» The baked beans are way better at Gus’s Barbeque in South Pasadena. I have to say I was really disappointed because the meat was on point :( THETIPS: The four(4) stars definitely went to the meat.

***3.5*** I was referred to eat at Bludso’s by a friend. She told me it was the best BBQ she has had in CA. I have not frequented many spots, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I did enjoy the food. We came super early around 10AM before heading back up North and there were already a few tables dining. We ordered a quarter pound of brisket, half pound of ribs, mac and cheese and potato salad. This was the perfect amount of food for two people. The brisket was tender and some of the fatty pieces were really good. The meat is smoked nicely and you can definitely taste it. The ribs were the highlight, the meat fell right off the bone. Mac and cheese was also another highlight. I liked how cheesy it was and very smooth. The potato salad was good too, just to have something to cool off with. Service was spotty. I really was disappointed with our server to be honest. The place was NOT busy… but there was a football game on and some other sports on TV and he was so busy watching TV that he barely catered to his tables. I saw him standing around watching TV almost the entire time I was eating. The other guy who brought us water, always made sure our waters were filled and took away our dirty plates was amazing. I wish I could have given all of the tips to him. but of course we know that isn’t the case. Our«server» only came at the end after I had to gain his attention to get the check and asked how our meal was. I think I just expected more since it was slow and I read about how good the service was at Bludso’s. I guess not everyone is amazing at what they do. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, but the lack of service really gave the one star deduction in my total score.

I am always down for a good sausage and this restaurant had two! The beef and the chicken. I was mindblown. Especially dipped in the hot and mild BBQ sauces. We also tried the tips, brisket, and the pork ribs. All were excellent! And I have to say, we ordered 3 sides and they were equally as delicious. We had the coleslaw, beans and the collard greens. I don’t have words to describe how good these were! Yummy! We devoured everything! Also, kudos to them for having a sweet and short beer list with good beers! We had the Baba black lager, YUM!
