Sadly the place is never open. Like now. Site states«open». Just drove by… certainly not true

I took over at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Café in Silver Lake over a year ago. When I got there the coffee was generic and the roast wasn’t anything worth mentioning. We switched to Bicycle Coffee after a few months and couldn’t believe how much things changed over night for our business. Bicycle Coffee beans are delicious! Great Aroma, Beautiful Crema on the espresso pour, and our house made cold brew is off the charts amazing now with their dark/medium blend espresso roast. They offer Mugs & Growlers which are all sleek and simplistic with a great design. Their online marketing has driven business our way as well which really helps with a new or growing businesses. Andy & Kellen run the place and are my favorite two vendors! Definitely recommend them if you need a supplier or just in general for a great cup of joe.

Temporarily closed? I came by at 9a on a Saturday(9÷19÷15) and everything is locked up. Super frustrating, please keep store hours updated!

I had the pleasure of meeting Kellen this morning at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market and bought a cup of coffee and shared a great conversation with her about the company and the philosophy behind Bicycle Coffee. Not only was it super cool service, but amazing coffee. This needs to be my new thing. It was nice meeting you, Kellen! Thanks again!

I’m giving them four stars because I love unexpected places like this. Bicycle Coffee is located in the unlikeliest stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard near Western. They serve coffee, not espresso drinks. My cold brew was nice, not earth shattering. Not the nicest guy who served me. Come on, just be sweet! It’s already a bare bones experience so a cool staff would have made the experience better. Anyway, probably won’t go back because of that but nice to know this spot is bringing coffee to an under served part of town.

Bicycle coffee is a rare find these days – offering high quality roasts at prices you can’t find anywhere else. These guys are super helpful and friendly, and couldn’t be more different from the uppity coffee joints just down the road in silver lake. I highly recommend giving them your business.

Bicycle coffee is an amazing venture into an eco-conscious and economically conscious business paradigm, that happens to roast and brew delicious coffee. It combines two things I love: bicycles and coffee… and serves free coffee on Fridays! Glad it’s in the neighborhood!

The coffee is great. The best cold brew I’ve had. I’ve got two growers and I’m there almost every week for free coffee Friday. Love it.

This is very good coffee, and well-sourced. We stock it in our buyer’s club/food coop. It’s a best-seller. This is a business-to-business shop that roasts coffee for other local shops, and delivers the product by bike. They make brewed coffee on the weekends(and for free on Friday) to get people interested in their product. The coffee is very high quality, sustainably product, and freshly-roasted. I recommend the espresso roast, though the cold-brew has a smooth taste without bitterness, and is available in various quantities. They have limited hours, Friday to Sunday. It’s not so much a café as an outlet. As you can see in other comments, they’re not a retail business with regular hours. They might expand hours to serve the local market, but, during the almost a year they have been in existence, they’ve yet to satisfy the walk-in traffic. That’s okay — the folks, like our buyer’s club, who enjoy their coffee, have no problem getting a regular supply.

Bicycle Coffee offers a Free Coffee Friday promotion, which means I got a free cold brew, so this review is a thank you and also a spreading of the word that there is an independent coffee shop* in the center of East Hollywood! I also hope Bicycle Coffee gets more people visiting(presumably, if that’s what they want) as there are more bicycles than people in here. The shop offers a cool bicyclist vibe for the 1% of bicyclists living in LA who are not the 1% and their cold brew is really delicious and refreshing. I’m wondering how they stay in business since they are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 to 5. I assume they sell beans or something, but I have yet to see a shop that says they are proudly roasting bicycle coffee beans. While I hope that they stay in business, I looked at their website and they offer absolutely no hint of their existence in LA but they have blog posts about their Oakland and Tokyo locations. I love that they are located on a crazy and not-so-friendly intersection for bikes to counter the other review that suggests they would be more properly located on pricey and grotesquely post-gentrified Melrose or Abbot Kinney in Venice, which already have a ton of coffee shops. This busy, crazy intersection definitely has room for –a– coffee shop. *I was informed that this is NOT a coffee shop. Considering that they sell cold brew, coffee and have benches to sit and drink coffee, I consider this place to BE a coffee shop, whether they are too cool for school to be labeled one or not.

I love their cold brew and growlers! Everyone is super sweet and the café has a clean, open vibe. It’s so exciting to have such a cool place open up in the neighborhood.

Great coffee … Cold brew is super bomb. He’s primarily a roaster so I believe it’s only open a couple days a week(check the hours). Fridays you can get a free our over for showing up. Perfect area between gritty Hollywood and Silverlake. Cool vibe. There is also a nice collection of sweet road bikes.

Coffee is smooth with just the right amount. I ran into it in Oakland and drove 20 from home to grab a cup from time to time. I’m glad there is one in LA but location wise need to be in a more strategic place such as Santa Monica, Abbot Kinney or Melrose to fit the whole mentality of what their coffee is all about. If you’re particular about pour-over coffee, give this coffee shop a try.
