Horrible noodles! I didn’t even eat it cuz it was that bad and told the chef myself and he still didn’t take it off the bill. He just looked at me like«k well that’s too bad». Zero stars!!!

We were staying at a hotel around the corner and were looking for a good place to eat. Friday night and most of the surrounding restaurants were crowded. We passed by this location walking back from the mall and decided to give it a try. Best decision EVER! Cute little ramen spot with such welcoming service. The spicy ramen was very tastey and their lobster hand roll and spicy tuna rolls were AMAZING! We even tried thier plum wine and their house cabernet, both delicious! We’re definitely coming back here next time we’re in DTLA.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch and was impressed with the quality of the hand rolls. I had the four rolls and liked each one, especially the one with the white wrapper. I would definitely come back here whenever I’m in town.

If I could give no stars I would. Ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and it tasted like the 25 cent creamy Ramen with spaghetti noodles. $ 11.00 wasted. Now have to spend more money to get lunch. Smh

Went here on January 5th for a friend’s birthday and ended up leaving after 5 min. The sever was such a turd that my guests and I couldn’t stomach being around him any longer. This guy is ruining your business. My friend Erin who invited us here couldn’t wait for us to try the food, she said it was great. Guess we’ll never know. If you don’t enjoy your job, move on!

My coworker told me about this place and I finally came here for the first time! The place was small but got quite a vibe! I I ordered the spicy ramen with chicken for $ 10.50. The think noodle was very delicious but the chicken Es a little bit dry. Maybe I should try pork next time. The half marinated egg was fun! There were also some bean sprouts inside the soup. I can see it’s a popular place to have lunch for people working in downtown if you are craving for noodles!

A bit pricey, but given the area not bad. The ramen was pretty good, a nice creamy/garlicky broth steeping the fresh noodles. $ 9-$ 14 bucks for a bowl of ramen is a bit much, but in a pinch, it’ll do.

If you work downtown and need a ramen fix but don’t have time to drive to Little Tokyo, this is the place for you. The ramen here probably won’t blow your mind but it’ll get the job done. I got the 3G ramen with pork($ 11) and my friend got the spicy miso ramen with pork($ 10.50). The 3G broth wasn’t that hot or that flavorful but the thin noodles were pretty good, al dente and plenty of them. I typically prefer a saltier, heavier broth but for a lunch break it was fine(less chance of a food coma lol). Good portion size with plenty of noodles and three small pieces of chashu pork plus a full hard-boiled egg. I didn’t finish the noodles. Just FYI the spicy ramen comes with thick noodles. The space is small-ish but clean and service was fast. Came by around noon and we were seated immediately and got our ramen pretty quickly after ordering. I didn’t see a lot of big tables, mostly 2-tops, so don’t come here with a huge group.

So they closed early when I tried to come here for the first time, but now that I finally tried the ramen the broth was so good that I had to change my review. Also, the chef/maybe the owner, was very friendly and came to help serve us even though it wasn’t busy. Plus the sushi is soooo soft and fresh, I love it . Also, way better than Octopus!

Enjoyed the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen Soup! I tried it with beef, egg, bean sprouts, and spicy paste on the side. I really enjoyed the spicy broth they cooked the ramen in. I also tried the hand roll the baked crab which was wrapped in soy paper. The other roll I tried was the spicy albacore it was alright could of been a little more spicier. Definitely true the Mango Nigori Soju Sake Martini it was delicious. The drink was surprisingly smooth and not too strong just the way I like it. I would love to come back with my boyfriend and have some cocktails and sushi.

Went here for lunch with my co-workers today. We arrived around 1pm as a party of 7 and was seated immediately. We got started with some water as we looked at the menu. The restaurant seemed pretty short-staffed, so the waiter didn’t come to our table right when we were ready to order. The waiter was a really funny guy and tried to join into our conversations — he was very personable. We eventually got all our orders taken and our items started arriving shortly. The waiter didn’t write down our orders so they brought out 1 wrong order to our table. Anyway, I got the Pork Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The ramen was satisfying — it wasn’t the best ramen that I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t the worst. The broth was pretty clean and wasn’t as fatty as I’d like. I enjoyed it a lot more after adding some hot oil and pepper flakes. The ramen was also firm and satisfying. The one thing that I did not enjoy much was the pork meat. I thought that it was a bit hard too chew and my other coworkers agreed. One of my coworkers got a lobster roll and really enjoyed it, although she mentioned that it was a bit pricey. At the end of the meal, we were asked if we wanted dessert by a waitress. We ordered a green tea ice cream and waited approximately 10 minutes and it never came. Our lunch break was ending so we asked to cancel the order, but our waiter went to get us some and gave it to us on the house. Overall, we had a good experience here. Sure it wasn’t the best ramen in Los Angeles, but it was definitely satisfying and we will be back here for our next ramen fix!

The food was OK! The service was terrible. They probably need more waiters. We had to wait more than 30min.

Service 5⁄5 Food 3.7÷5 Peach sake 6⁄5 If you want a great drink, a chill not-too-crowded place, definitely come check out 3rd generation. Sashimi is good– not great. Fish is mostly fresh but there’s something missing. Edamame isn’t quite that great. SESAMEICECREAMWILLKNOCKYOIRSOCKSOFF!!! I will always be back to a place with amazing service & that insanely amazing ICECREAM. Rowena is incredibly down to earth and gives great suggestions!

DELICIOUSSLURPS It seems ironic to have soup in 80 degree weather but when the degrees fall to a high 70’s that sure changes that. Came right before the lunch rush which hits at its prime around 12:30pm and grabbed at seat at the bar area. Tips say eat ramen and hand rolls so I did just that. Lunch they do not offer the half bowls but they were kind to 1) go prepare a half bowl 2) prepare the other half to go(soup and noodles separately) so I don’t waste food and have dinner. TONKOTSU($ 13) — pork bone broth, braised pork, soy marinated egg, bamboo shoots, green onion. This ramen was very good — from presentation, taste, and execution. The broth really makes this ramen really good as all the other stuff in the bowl are typical. Do add the chili oil for extra flavor and heat. HIGHLYRECOMMEND. BAKEDLOBSTERHANDROLLWITHSOYPAPER($ 8) — with dynamite sauce and soy paper. I wanted to try any of the hand rolls with soy paper because I never had soy paper before. The lobster one sounded appealing at the time but afterwards didn’t feel it was worth the eight bucks, maybe six. Br not eight. It was a really good hand rolll. The soy a paper is white with sesame seeds, it has an interesting taste that I can’t put into worlds. The baked lobester was was nicely prepared. RECOMMEND. Will I be back? For the ramen. JABAAPPROVED. Until the next review…

I was a little skeptical about 3rd Generation Sake Bar since there are already so many Japanese restaurants in the Financial District — Sugar Fish, Wokano, Q, Takami, Octopus, etc. I just wasn’t sure how this place would compete in terms of price and quality. But I came last night with my boyfriend during happy hour and we both LOVED our dinner. I would skip the tonkatsu ramen because it wasn’t that great. We ordered a small portion($ 6) and it was a decent size but I’ve had better. It wasn’t horrible, but I’m a little picky when it comes to ramen. The broth wasn’t that great and the chasu was on the dry side. GREATEGG though. I probably will come back for it since it is so convenient to my apartment. There aren’t any other decent options in the neighborhood. We ordered 3 hand rolls each, and they were fantastic! + Eel & Avocado — SOBOMB and flavorful. The eel was perfectly cooked and HOT, and the avocado was the perfect ripeness. That creaminess from the avocado was insane. + Salmon Skin — CRISPYGOODNESS. God I wish I ordered another one. The rice is nice and warm, and the salmon skin had a perfect crunch. + Scallop — I LURVYOU. This was my favorite of the 3 hands down. The scallop was sooo fresh and buttery, and they did not skimp on the portions. Just amazing. We also tried the UNI Shooter and HOLY F*CK…don’t even question it. The shooter had two fresh pieces of uni, a quail egg, and tamago in a ponzu sake mixture. It was so creamy and refreshing. We also tried their Tako Wasabi and it was SOGOOD. The octopus is marinated in a wasabi mixture that had a nice zing to it. The portion is really small for the price though, but it was delicious. I WILLBEBACKFORSURE.

I am so sad that Green Hut is gone! I think that was the last $ 1 oyster place in DTLA. But I was pretty excited to see a ramen place opening up. The only other place I ever found ramen in DTLA is at Octopus(just across the street) and that wasn’t that great. Came in for a late lunch with my coworkers. They only serve tonkotsu ramen for lunch which is kind of disappointing because I wanted to try their miso. I still got it because I really needed my ramen fix. The ramen I would say is just okay, a little bit pricey for the quality and quantity you are getting. I definitely had better ramen for less than $ 13 a bowl.

YESYESYES. I am beyond excited that financial district is finally getting some legit Asian places. As soon as I found this place replaced Green Hut, I was on it like white on rice. Came in for dinner and it was empty, but I wasn’t too worried since they’re still in their soft opening phase. Asia took excellent care of us and although the menu is pretty straightforward, she shared some of her favorite dishes and drinks. We ordered the spicy tuna hand roll and avocado hand roll, and a bowl of the soy chicken ramen. The hand rolls were reaaaal tasty, didn’t even think about soiling them with soy sauce. The ramen was a pretty good size, and unlike the previous review suggests, the soy broth was nice, flavorful and light. The noodles were a little al dente and had great texture, and the chicken was tender. What else could you ask for? I really like the clean, modern interior — it has a very laid back vibe. Service was top notch and while prices were a little above average, the food is definitely worth it. I’ll be back for soju cocktails and dessert soon!

Great spot for your ramen fix without going to Little Tokyo! Bedsides sushi, there is not enough Asian cuisine on the south end of downtown. With incoming residences and major financial offices moving closer to the south side of downtown, it’s obvious that more diverse spread of restaurants are headed that way also. I, like many, am living and working in downtown, therefore tend to walk for most of my daily lifestyle. Japanese cuisine that includes a great bowl of ramen is exactly what I’m looking for. Out with the old, in with the new This location used to be a dark and slow paced restaurant called The Green Hut which for the most part was«busy» during happy hours where they offered $ 1 oysters and a decent selection of draft beers. The revamped space now is a lot brighter, designed with raw wood and a lot of staff on hand, apparently opened by the same company that owns Wokano. Ramen as the star They offer three types of ramen, tonkotsu, miso, and soy which are available in two sizes, full and half which is great for people who want to try more of what the menu has to offer. The tonkotsu was actually really good. They give 4 or 5 slices of pork which is a lot if you’re used to the typical 2 that most places put in their bowls. The noodles are very soft, so if you’re a person who likes it «al dente» this is not the spot for you. My only complaint would be that the broth, although very good, was pretty heavy on the oil. You can see it glistening in the light. Great for Happy hour They offer $ 4 draft beers which include about 5 types of your usual suspects and wine also during their happy hour. Overall, a great time and now I don’t have to drive to get my Japanese cuisine fix.
