My pre-​teen nephew started fencing here and has been consistently very positive about it. This is now his favorite sport. He made a point to say that the coach is a big part why he likes it so much. (never mind his impressive credentials). They must be doing something very right.

My son has been in the SVFC youth program for 5 months, and we’ve both been extremely pleased with the entire experience. He has fun, he’s challenged, and his fencing has improved tremendously. Aleksei and Yuliya are both calm, patient and kind — yet they’re serious about the sport and develop some of the top talent in the area and the nation. Under their direction, my son is already learning that hard work and discipline (balanced by a good dose of fun!) pays off — good life lessons that extend well beyond fencing. He can’t wait to get to his classes (he even insists on arriving early, he’s so eager!), and the other students I’ve observed also seem very happy and dedicated. I feel very fortunate that we found the SVFC!

My six year old seems to think he is a Jedi master, so I brought him in for a taste of the real thing. We signed up for the introductory course, it is very reasonably priced and they do not make you sign a contract, which i really liked. The staff is very patient and knows how to keep it fun for the little ones. I am thinking of signing up myself…
