Okay, so food trucks are the fad. BUT, the food is not worth the ridiculous amount of money they charge for food from a TRUCK!!! I can’t believe people continue to pay crazy money to Food Trucks. We went and tried a little bit of everything just to see what all the fuss is about. Nothing was worth that kind of money. $ 18 for a small meal out of a truck!!! That’s just an example. I’d stick to a nice sit down restaurant where $ 18 can get me an entrée, a drink(with free refills), AND a dessert.

Used to go here almost every Tuesday and now it is not there anymore. It’s unfortunate because all the other food truck nights are so so crowded.

Whenever I get the chance, I definitely try to see what they have to offer here and every time I go, I am never disappointed. The food trucks at the winner’s circle(a proper name for all these fantastic trucks) all show great versatility in choice of food. My personal favorite trucks are Rancho a Go Go BBQ and Tropical Shaved Ice. The rotation of trucks are always changing each week so to keep you guessing each time. In my experience, some trucks that appear more common than others are: Lime Truck, Tropical Shaved Ice, and Fresh Fries. Like I said though, the rotation is always different. So if you Unilocalers are free Tuesday nights and want to experience the food truck craze, This place is definitely a great place to try out.

6 or 7 food trucks, including a great dessert truck, good friends, a friendly atmosphere– what could be better? They switch around the trucks every week, so there is always variety. Some of the trucks take a while because they are so popular, and my youngest gets a bit antsy, but it is a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the spread.

You’ll catch up lazy ass here every Tuesday, I come here to eat almost like a buffet, What’s not to love? They have 6 – 7 trucks every week, All parked at the lot at Mygear store lot, for the geeks, I love the resident lime truck and Tropical Shave Ice, Before I come here, I better get my dose of exercise, Also here are some of my favorite trucks that come, Lee’s Philly, Waffles De Liege, Lobsta Truck, and then some, Did you know that the lot fee is $ 25 a day for the trucks? So go and buy some yummy food and spend a few bucks! Peace!

One of the smaller round-ups out there, Los Al is a good alternative to driving around trying to find some food trucks. Lime Truck and Trop Shave Ice are among the regulars that show here, though I’ve seen my fair share of the oh-so-popular fusion taco trucks as well, with some Tapa Boy and Lee’s Philly sightings thrown in for good measure. Their space in front of My Gear Store has room for around 5 or six trucks, so it’s not as large as the 12 – 14 trucks sprawls you see in Carson or OC. They could use a few more marquee Big Baller trucks to show up now and again, but it’s a nice option for a low key no-hassle food truck event, and good to check out if you want to try some trucks without the zoo-y turn-outs.

I typically come here before my softball games and depending on the week there have been some pretty good trucks. It would be nice if a couple more trucks came though.

Line up 5÷10÷11: — Tapas Boys… talk about FLIPTIME… they didn’t open shop till almost 6pm last night. FAIL. — Lime Truck. didn’t try… –Tropical Shaved Ice. CLOSED? Fail. –Ranchan Ramen… pretty good… tried the Yakisoba. Nice crew too. –Dos Chinos… yummy ASIAN/Mexican tacos… lol. –Random Monster Energy pick up passin’ out freebies… NICE! –OC Truck… LATE…fail. Other trucks I don’t remember. Like the Los Al Din A-Go-Go…they usually have a good truck line up 6 – 7 strong. But when we go, we usually need to go right at 530pm since we have our softball games right after. We’re hoping the trucks are actually up and running by the stated time of 530pm. Thanks!

Big shout out to Fia R. for being the first person to encourage me to trek out to the Los Al Din. This has, by far, been the best truck lot I have ever enjoyed. I do like the Century lot for the band but the time of day and cool energy of the Los Al lot is unmatched. It’s the perfect place to relax on a lovely summer/spring/fall/winter evening. Bring a chair, set it up in the grass and just breathe in the joy. The truck rotation is awesome and they are conveniently set up so that the lines rarely run into each other. Lines, just like at any truck, do exist but here they are rarely more than 2 people deep. It’s a relaxing, no pressure environment and everyone is smiling. Last night Ted and I had a wonderful time here. I was very glad we brought our chairs but we have done it without and been fine before. A blanket would suffice too. Some people are so intense that they bring a whole table and chair set up. Hard core and totally worth it. Los Al Din Din A Go Go is my favorite place to enjoy a truck and a few laughs. Join us!

I’m a huge fan of any of the Din Din A Go Go’s. Great for the trucks cause it’s free for them to enter. Great for the patrons cause it’s free for you to enter. And they always boast a strong line-up of trucks for you to choose from. Does it get crowded? Sure sometimes depending on the trucks. But that’s the point of these gatherings. Bringing trucks, food and people together in one spot. And they do a great job of it. Kudos to My Gear Store for putting this together!

It’s funny; I think one of the original ideas behind food trucks was convenience, but it can be downright stressful trying to track down the trucks and get there on time and wait in line, etc, etc. That’s why a love a weekly casual food truck gathering like this. Especially since the LBC is devoid of food trucks, it makes Los Al DinDin-A-GoGo and even more welcome way to get your fix. There are usually some of the awesome trucks here like Lime Truck, Seabirds, and Rancho A Go Go — and the whole vibe is just very laid back and relaxed. There are a couple of very small grass areas you can sit on, but it seems like either standing, taking your food to go, or bringing some chairs are all better options than dubious parking lot grass. All in all though, a near-perfect way to try out some of the food trucks you’re always hearing Unilocalers rave about.

Came to the Los Alamitos Food Truck gathering and was impressed — some big names came out to play and the crowds were manageable and parking was easy to find. It’s in a discrete parking lot off Winner’s Circle across the street from the Cypress Costco every Tuesday from 5:30 — 9:30p.m. **Just a note — some trucks do tend to close early and the crowds died off around 8pm. My friends and I gathered for a my friend’s PT’s birthday. These trucks rotate on a weekly basis, so you have to check their website to see who is present. The Lime Truck is usually a resident at this event, as is the Tropical Shaved Ice Truck, so you’ll be sure to find them here if you don’t want to chase them. Other trucks present were: Tapa Boy — Filipino cuisine Komodo — Fusion cuisine(tacos/burritos) Swingin’ Kitchen — a new concept truck Lee’s Philly — Philly cheesesteaks with a Korean flair Calbi — Korean fusion I ended up trying the following: Tapa Boy($ 7) — They ran out of their chicken adobo bowl so I opted for their«Tapsilog» bowl — beef Tapa slices served with special garlic fried rice(sinangag), an egg*(itlog), & a side of papaya relish(atsara) with tomato and cucumber slices. Swinging Kitchen($ 5) — The bf tried their pulled pork sandwich… so delicious! It was but probably one of freshest and unique take on the traditional pulled pork Calbi($ 5.99) — Two taco combo + drink — I’ve gotten this before, and opted for chicken and steak tacos. Overall, a pretty decent gathering of food trucks without having to follow them on Twitter! Next time I think I’ll bring a lawn chair or something to sit on.

Compared to the cluster-duck I hear most food truck festivals become, a small gathering of food trucks can be refreshing and welcoming. This little gathering happens every Tuesday from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. I don’t normally chase food trucks, but I saw that the Seabirds truck was going to be here, so I had to go. The 5 trucks(Seabirds Lime Truck, Lee’s Philly, Chomp Chomp Nation, and Rancho A Go Go) gathered in a parking lot on Winner’s Circle down the road from the Gourmet Café and Pie Company. The trucks vary from week to week, so check their websites, twitter, facebook, etc, etc, etc to see who will be there and if your favorite truck will be there. There is a lot of parking, both in neighboring lots and on the street, and while there was a decent crowd, there were little to no lines. Now that I can«chase» Seabirds without driving far, I think I’ll be here again when they are!
