CARQUEST Auto Parts

I used to go here when it was CARQUEST, they always had the parts I needed at a better price than Advance Auto Parts. They are now Advance Auto Parts, and along with replacing the décor and signage, they seemed to have replaced all the staff.
I walked in and asked for the brake caliper tool set, and right away I was told they do not have it. After I questioned him, he said «oh wait a minute I might have it,» and went back and retrieved it. For those of you who don’t know, Advance Auto Parts offers a tool loan program, where you pay a deposit and get it refunded upon returning the tool. The sales person told me that I’m better off buying the $ 14 individual tool instead of loaning the professional tool, and was insisting that I would be saving money if I did that, and even after I told him that I’d rather get the FREE tool, he was very hesitant to give it to me. Weirdest thing.
I came back to return the tool, and asked for a brake caliper bolt kit, as mine was damaged. Again, without hesitation or a moment to think about my request, he said «No I don’t have that.» After going back and forth three times and insisting that he check the computer, he finally gives up and looks it up, and shockingly it was in stock!
I don’t know if the old staff was fired or quit, but this new guy managing the place is incompetent, and since it’s now part of the same chain and I don’t get the benefit of a better price, I’ll drive a little further to get to a better managed/​stocked Advance Auto Parts.
