Living in Boulder, I would usually come to the walmart in Broomfield, which is one of the offices of Dr. Baker, for my eye check up, and I’ve been doing that for years. Since Dr. Baker has taken the office, I’m forced to go out of my way to Denver to get my eye check up. Don’t go here. You’ll pay more, and I’m not sure you’ll have a good experience. When I did my eye check up, it was a substitute doctor, and the doctor wrote my prescription WRONG. I KNOW she did because I’m the sciences, and when I tried to buy contacts, and the assistant also said it was written wrong and I should come back for another check up. Taking time out of my student schedule, I went there again to have the prescription written right. Dr. Baker did check up again(which would be REQUIRED since the prescription is written wrong in the first place and you can’t simply rewrite), and then CHARGEDMEEXTRA $ 25 for«office visit fee.» I had already paid over $ 90 for check-up. I called to have it refunded after learning from another office that I shouldn’t have been charged, SINCEIT’S A DOCTOR’S FAULT. Dr. Baker responded saying I was charged because I «wanted cheaper contacts.» I looked through my previous years of contact purchases and it’s been the same contacts lenses, and if I had already paid the amount for an ACCURATE prescription, I shouldn’t be charged when you mess up as a doctor and write the wrong prescription. Not to mention, I bought my eyeglasses there last year, and THEYLOSTMYPRESCRIPTION by the time I picked up my eyeglasses. Dr. Baker hasn’t taken the time to respond back to my phone. Honestly, I also found her unnecessarily rude on the phone. Her tone is unwelcoming and unwilling to deal with the challenges of her job. I’ll never go back to this office again. Go the offices in Denver. They’re about $ 20 cheaper for first timers, and $ 30 cheaper for returning patients. No need to compromise principles.

I made an appointment at this Walmart-based clinic in the fall of 2011. After waiting for half an hour past my appointment time, with no one even at the reception desk, I finally spotted someone in the back and called out to her. She said she’d be with me «shortly,» but when she came to the front, she took back someone else, who didn’t even have an appointment. When I balked at that, she said, «Oh, I didn’t realize you had an appointment. I’ll be with you in about 15 to 20 minutes.» I left. Afterwards, I realized that the doctor at this location(Dr. Baker) is the same doctor my daughter had seen previously at a different Walmart location. On that occasion, I don’t think my daughter received a good prescription. She couldn’t see very well right from the beginning, and when I took her to another eye doctor a month later, she was given a dramatically different prescription. Maybe her eyes really did change that fast(or maybe she really wasn’t given the right prescription in the first place). In any case, everything about this operation felt«bargain basement.» I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. I’m not taking my family to ANY Walmart eye clinic again.
