Devil Dogs BBQ

This place is a bit out of the way, being almost in Platteville, we had to put the address in Google maps to find it, and when it said «you have arrived at your destination» we just looked around confused as to where it actually meant since it took us to the back of an industrial/​farming complex. But when you see the big black food truck you know you have arrived. Seating is actually in the neighboring Black Canyon Distillery. The brisket burger was fresh and hot and straight off the grill. The potato salad was thick, chunky and also taste fresh. Too bad this place is only open around the weekend, or I would stop by more often and sample the other things on their menu.

This was a unique experience. The food was prepared on a food truck and served to u inside a distillery. The price was worth the food. I had the pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. You could choose your own sauce which was a bbq sauce called chesty. The sauce had a little kick which add more flavor to the pulled pork. The baked beans could have cooked a little longer but good none the less. This was a great find!

Just heard about this place I’m a trucker and get tired of truck stop food so went to try it out and I wasn’t disappointed. The Brisket Burger awesome the Cole slaw just right and wings were great. Everything just right. Will be back.

Amazing food. This is by far the best BBQ I have ever tasted in my life. I recommend this food to everyone I know. The staff is friendly and, of course, food is delicious. I’d say the pulled pork sandwich, brisket burger, and cheesy fries are the best items on the menu. The pricing is amazingly reasonable. What more can I say? Go try this food and find it’s awesomness for yourself!

Great stuff esp for the price. We had a tour planned at the distillery and decided to get a bite to eat beforehand. I had the pulled pork without the bun and slaw. My bf has the brisket nachos with a side of beans. First off, the pork was awesome and left naked to allow you to add your own choice of sauces. The sides were for my BF but I tasted the slaw and it was great. His nachos were huge and came with homemade nacho cheese sauce, beans, brisket, jalapeños, and sour cream. He had them down in no time and still had room for the beans. He is somewhat of a coleslaw snob but in his words … «It’s legit». We talked with one of the owners, he was super friendly and helpful. This place deserves more signs pointing to its location because it is truly a hidden bbq gem!

So the address is misleading — they now seem to have a permanent home at Black Canyon Distillery, which is east of I-​25, off Rt. 66
But stop reading this and go there right now. This guy makes the most amazing burger I’ve had since moving to Colorado. Here’s the trick — it’s a *brisket burger*. That’s right, brisket. It’s called Chesty’s burger, and it’s got onions, pepper jack, and jalapeños. He cooks it just right, so you’ve got patty juiciness mixed with the crisp onions and the heat of the jalapeños…it’s so good. Seriously, go get one right now.
