Max Burger

This restaurant is right in my small town yet I’ve I had never visited until today.
Both my sister and I order burgers which we were extremely pleased with. I had heard about the truffle fries. Im glad I tried them, they were tasty but way too salty. That was minor.
Overall, the meal and drinks were great.
Service very efficient. Glad I finally stopped in.
Outdoor seating for warmer weather.

Great burgers, but the hot dos are even better. The tomato soup is rich, thick, and has tons of tomato flavor. I recommend it with the grilled cheese. It can be crowded at the usual times so call ahead on your way there to get your name on the list.

Went to Max Burger with Jill and 6 friends last night. I imagine that they’re going for a vibe with no reservations but going there and having to stand around for a half hour after call head is tiresome. That being said, the food as well as the beer menu is great, with the beer being on the expensive side. In many cases a 8 oz pour is what you’d buy a pint for elsewhere. Longmeadow I guess.
For appetizers we had wings, prosciutto wrapped pickles, onion rings, and smoked bacon lollipops. All good.
I had the fun guy burger in medium. It was cooked well and very tasty. The fries were good. I tried one of Jill’s sweet potato fries and it was very good.

Hard to rate a place that I frequent so often — sometimes off-​the-​chart great and sometimes totally ewww! Would love if they would keep children out of the bar, but this is Longmeadow and all their entitled little brats are perfect, right? Usually, Sunday afternoons are good so they will pay attention to you at the bar, kitchen isn’t too busy to get the orders right, and not so many screaming kids. We love the buffalo shrimp, pickle-​wrapped pastrami, bison burgers and great beer selections.

Very good. Great menu selections. Plan ahead because the place fills fast.

My last two experiences of food were blaah. The first time I went I found the truffle fries to have taken a complete hit in the mcdonalds drive through, served with hardly any flavor and just a bunch of parmesean cheese dumped on the top. Once upon a time, they were cooked properly and had just the right amount of truffle oil spread through them with parsley and sprinkles of cheese. Most recent I went I went and replaced the fries with salad… way too much dressing on the salad. The burger meat has taken a turn for the worst too, bland and tasted like something a blend I’d get at stop and shop. I was also told they raised their prices… no, I do not look at prices when I go out to eat, it’s something I love. but seriosly… you are going to raise the prices and cut your quality?

Went for dinner tonight and it was amazing! I don’t remember our servers name but I know she is pregnant but she was great! Food was so good. Definitely we will be back!!!

Burgers are fresh, very nice looking restaurant. Given this whole area is devoid of decent food should do well in Longmeadow. Try the tomato soup, I’ve never had better. Well done.

We love this place. We drive up from Somers to eat here. Great burgers and fries with a good selection of beer. Service has always been good for us!

I wish there were more late night restaurants in the area, Max Burger would attract a lot of alcohol deprived students. There is a full bar with an expansive selection of drafts and bottles. Also they have a few craft sodas available. I ordered the blackjack burger with regular fries on the side. I asked for the burger to be cooked at medium and it came out perfectly. Unfortunately, I was not too impressed by the other ingredients in the burger. The onions and chilies tasted too sweet for me but it wasn’t terrible. The fries were good, well at least the ones on top were. As I got to the middle of the fries it was nothing but potato skins that slipped into the batch. I appreciated the variety on their menu but the food didn’t meet my expectations, especially for the price. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive, luckily we came when it was slow.

I was so excited to get out on a date without kids! We decided to check this place out since it’s near our home and rated so highly.
There was a short wait on a Thursday night and the atmosphere wasn’t upscale as some have said — nice but definitely causal. Lots of kids and families. It was a little loud, but that was okay because it meant no one was listening to our conversation.
The room was lined with booths with most tables out in the open — a little cozier (read: crowded) than I prefer.
We both got the Grateful Veg, which was totally disappointing for $ 13. So mushy. I know, I know, who goes to a burger place and orders the vegetarian option? But we’d had such tasty ones at Shake Shack last week that we hoped for more deliciousness. Not so. Very bland and mushy. The fries were just okay, but the coleslaw was rather tasty
The highlight of our night, however, was the nutty buddy (I think?) boozy milkshake with amaretto, peanut butter, and coffee ice cream. It was SO good. Really great flavor combos and one of the best treats I’ve had in western mass since moving here in September!

Service is very good. However, the pastrami paradise was a fatty greasy mess on a roll that was soggy from all the grease. Mr. Manager how about a regular pastrami on toasted rye and hold the grease. Prices are not cheap. I’d rather go to five guys for better quality food. The inside of place is nicely done. I always order pastrami because nothing else on menu gets my attention. Tonight’s sandwich was greasy. Not sure if I’ll be back soon?

Our servers were great, we had two waitresses. They were both friendly and attentive. The food on the other hand was very disappointing.
The pastrami sandwich was horrible. It looked delicious, don’t get me wrong. But as soon as I picked it up the whole entire bottom bun was soaked and soggy. Tried cutting the sandwich but that didn’t help. The pastrami was very thick and lacking flavor. not that great for a restaurant specializing in beef. I took the sandwich home and threw it away.
The eggplant fries, which I’ve gotten before, were so unbelievably salty I only ate four of them.
Between the salty sticks and my soggy pastrami sponge, I was quite disappointed.

Über chic burger places are the trend these days– and Max Burger is right up there with the rest.
The place was pretty busy when we got there (Friday night) but they were able to seat us before we even finished our first drink at the bar.
I had a pineapple cocktail, which neither I nor anyone else at the table liked. It tasted just like canned pineapple juice and alcohol were put in a glass together. The others had beer and wine– my husband loved the clownshoes beer and a friend who had the Pinot grigot said it paired quite well with the meal.
The veggie quinoa– sunflower burger and cream of tomato soup were pretty good. The vegetarian chili was probably a ⁶⁄₁₀. We were recommended the fried pickles and don’t regret it for a bit– they made for great bar food.
Our server was great! We discussed our matching apple watches :). He was friendly, didn’t rush us at all and didn’t make us wait too long for anything. That being said all the servers, bartenders, hostesses were all very friendly.
With a better cocktail selection, this could become our burger place to go.

Holy tenderness! This was one of the most perfectly cooked and flavorful piece of beef I ever had. I had time to spare while waiting for a wedding two miles away so I googled this. The service was great, Shaun could have been the most courteous and helpful bartender I’ve had the pleasure to meet. The sliders were cooked to order. Shaun asked «how you want it cooked?» As rare as you can get, I said… «You got it!» It takes skill to cook a smaller amount of beef to order, but as you can see by my photos… They were not small and they did it to perfection. Let’s not mention the special sauce, hand cut fries, local IPA, and a smooth whiskey. I’ll be able to sit through this Mass now because of this delightful experience. Thank you Max Burger! I will definitely make a pit stop next time in western MA. And believe me… Because I like food, and food tastes good!

I wasn’t really looking for a new dining experience on the way home after a half-​day at Six Flags, but I’m really glad we came here. The wing appetizer was juicy and delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had Saranac Draft Root Beer as well.
But hands-​down the best food I’ve had all week (if not month or year) was the Fatty Burger. Not for the faint of heart, it is a delicious 8 oz. burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches. With bacon. The truffle spuds were a perfectly-​matched side as well, and melt in your mouth.
I didn’t even mean to come here today, but I’m glad I did. I don’t write many Unilocal reviews, but this place deserves all 5 stars. Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. I’ll be back!

Ok ok ok. I gave this place another try. The burger was slightly better — I had the Blackjack burger and it was actually kind of tasty. The combination of the sweet onions with the spicy burger was kind of tasty. The fries were okay — nothing special. I tried a few eggplant fries and those were mostly just batter (the eggplant inside had basically liquified in the cooking process). This place is close enough to my house that I’d come back again, but I still think there are better burgers around.

We’ve been here a bunch of times and have never been disappointed. From the apps, to the burgers, to the entrees we would recommend everything! The service is always great as well. Definitely give it a try.

Hands down my vote for best gourmet burger spot in Western MA. High quality meat, cooked to perfection. It’s a bit shocking, but they actually cook their burgers to desired temp. Great example of true craft.
Plenty of additional options on their menu if you aren’t in the mood for a burger. Not many more things more decadent than candied bacon lollipops. Must try.
Talented bartenders with some pretty creative offerings. Booze and especially beers are overpriced, but I suppose that goes with the location, and the West Hartford influence.

This is a great restaurant! We wanted to try out the various ones in the town since we have family coming into town next week and we just moved here, so we weren’t sure where to take them. Glad we came here! Our son is always craving fries and a shake .
There was a huge crowd of people when we walked in. I was a little hesitant, because in Hawaii, a crowd like that means a wait of at least 30 min. This was at 6pm, FYI. But that wasn’t the case at all. The host told me it would be five to ten minutes. Whoa! And it actually was.
As you walk-​in, you see the beautiful décor. Like my fiancé says, it looks like San Diego (where I’m from) meets Montana (where he from). It has a tasteful rustic chic to it.
Our waitress was amazing fast and attentive. I got the Saturday special (BBQ burger) with eggplant fries, my fiancé got the Kobe Classic burger and our son got edamame, chicken fingers and a strawberry shake. They were all magnificent. Our burgers were cook to perfection (medium rare)! Totally happy. We devoured our food and ordered dessert. Let me tell you, the flour less chocolate is to die for! My fiancé got the lime and ginger sorbet. The beer list is also very extensive and very good. They also have seasonal cocktails as well as some classics.
There is a membership card that will earn you points for ever dollar spent, which is perfect for people who want Max tone a frequent staple for their tummies. Can’t wait to bring our family here. Nom nom!!!
