Can’t tell you how the food is. I was asking the girl a simple question of «is that a slice?» She only needed to confirm for me that what was in her hand was in fact considered a «slice» as their menu describes. I was greeted with a answer about the price and then a very curt reply basically brushing me off. I don’t know if she was just having a bad day or what, but I really no longer desired to try their pie after such a crappy interaction.

Since I had Stolle at a market, it’s fair to leave the review at the spots throughout the city just to let y’all get an idea what’s up. So let me start things off by stating that this review is being written after having their pies at the Queens International Night Market(which was a total disaster, don’t ever go!). Now, onto the lowdown: the pies are amazing. The boyfriend disappeared in the sea of people and returned with two pies: rabbit & mushroom and raspberry & cheese. The vendor told him, «We only use cute rabbits.» Alright… One bite later, ALRIIIIIIIGHT! It was pretty darn good so tough luck Thumper lovers! The raspberry and cheese was equally delicious, which makes me wonder do they only use cute raspberries…

3.5 stars So I have been a fan of Stolle since my trip to Russia many years ago. I fell in love with the bakeries there and I dreamt of the day that I would go back. Imagine my joy when I heard of one opening here! Overall, I think this is a nice bakery(LIC being the takeaway spot and Brooklyn being the café location). Everything is fresh and yummy. However, and I’ve struggled with this review here, it is not up to par with what I had during my trip. I thought maybe I was only imagining it, but no, several other people who have had both agreed with me. The issues being: it is overly sweet(like tooth achingly sweet) and the dough here is much tougher and thicker. I don’t know if its some difference in the flour, dairy, or water, but I find this is the case with most sweets/breads between US and Europe. What I do love are the chocolate covered poppy seed buns which they always seem to be out of. I am still a fan of this place, and will continue to go here whenever I feel like putting on the pounds. With that said, here are my favorites: black currant pie(delicious! but again, I could feel the sugar between my teeth); cottage cheese pie(expected it to be like cheesecake, but was pleasantly surprised of its deliciousness!); plum pie(very very good!); fish pie(only eat when you buy it as reheating it ruins it completely); and of course, the chocolate poppy seed buns.

Beautiful and delicious pies! We came on a Saturday noon, and while the store was closed, we called and asked for delivery. The staff was very nice, and we received our freshly baked salmon pie soon thereafter. The dough was soft and the salmon/spinach combo was tasty, all while looking beautiful. Look forward to trying the other pies.

Tasty and filling. I especially liked the savory pies — its good to have a non-typical lunch option in the neighborhood, especially since they can deliver.

Had Russian pies from here. So yummi. Lemon one wasn’t the best but plum, strawberry is my favorite.

Originally from Russia, I thought would never get to experience quality Russian pies in the USA. I was wrong! I am so happy Stolle is finally in New York City! The pies are AMAZING! Also the service is incredible as well! I come for a piece of pie every morning and highly recommend you to come as well! Sometimes, I am overtired after work and do not feel like preparing dinner for my family… so I stop by Stolle after work and buy the fish pie or a meat pie, and dinner is served! My family is happy and I am happy! You have to try this place!!!
