There are far worse places to order take out or drop in for a quick to go order, however it is typically best to keep your distance from a mixed cuisine type of take out restaurant. I’d certainly suggest staying away from the sushi at this joint and focus your efforts more on the Thai offerings. Portions are certainly large for the price you pay so it’s a great place to drop by when you’re very hungry and can afford to compromise slightly in terms of quality. The Chinese food is typical of other neighboring Chinese delivery places so there’s not much to comment on there.

I ordered delivery from Kwan last night. While there was an immense amount of food for the price, I doubt I will ever dig into the leftovers. The food was plentiful yet bland. The delivery came quickly and the guy on the phone was really nice. I guess I should know better and stay away from places that are Thai and Japanese and Chinese style all rolled into one. I ought to have learned my lesson about cultural food mixing from the disgusting Mexican Sushi joint near my old office.

Best take out & delivery in Astoria! Kwan used to be Kwang’s(?) Japanese Noodle Shop and then they expanded and now serve Thai and Cantonese food as well. Kwan and his wife run the operation and he is even the one to come to your home and deliver your food! I can’t get enough of the huge servings of mixed veggies and and garlic sauce with chicken. The brown sauce is also amazing. Nothing is too greasy or heavy. Just light and tasty. I also always get the taro bubble tea, which if you can get past the tapioca pearls is so sweet and lovely. Kwan’s prices are also amazing. Most dishes run from $ 5 – 10. You can get a huge meal for 2 for $ 12 and still have enough for lunch the next day.
