Acquired a leftover computer in parts and brought it to the team at Computech (Kevin and Kevin) to assess what parts were still working and what else it would need to get it running.
They helped me understand what specifications the parts needed to be and gave me the choice of either using their parts they had on hand, or installing parts I would purchase online. They were extremely patient and responsive with my questions and helped pick out the right pieces for what I wanted in my build. They were never pushy or tried to upsell, just gave them their advice and let me choose in the end.
I’ve built my own PCs for years but lately have not had the time to do all the assembly, OS installation, driver troubleshooting, etc. It was a real pleasure working with the team at Computech and I found their prices to be very reasonable. I shipped the pieces I wanted installed to them directly from the vendor, and they inspected them carefully upon arrival to let me know if there were any issues (there was a slight scratch on a part during delivery that they caught right away and informed me about!)
Really fast on the turnaround and always kept me informed as to what was going on via phone call or email. I have tried working with computer repair stores in NY and had extremely negative experiences; this was a complete 180!
Only request is that they do delivery service! Would gladly pay for door-​to-​door consumer pick up and drop off.

Kevin and Kevin are the go to people for affordable and professional service. They picked up my MacPro for a modest price, and got it up in running in hours. They stand behind what they do, and have decades of experience. They are minutes away from the Court Square subway in LIC. I am recovering IT person myself and they were able to help where my experience ended.

This might be a bit unusual but Computech was not able to repair my damaged hard drive, since, as we had expected, it was internally damaged and needs to go to a specialty lab to get the work done.
So why would I be writing a review about someone who couldn’t fix my issue and give them 5 stars (as you can see, I am pretty objective in past reviews, and rarely give 5 stars)
The owner of this business, Kevin, is as honest a person as you will find in this business. Many of his peers know that when your computer malfunctions that you are desperate for a fix, and charge 3−5x what they should, to take advantage. Computech’s prices are more than reasonable, and their communication is excellent, from the time i left my hard drive with them until i picked it up, they were in contact every step of the way, and detailed everything they tried with suggestions for what further steps need to be taken
I highly recommend these guys to anyone in the NYC (its 10 minutes to get to their offices from Times Square or Grand Central) area and will definitely go back to them in the future with all my computer needs

Last week, my friend called me and told me that her computer fell whilst trying to turn it on. She asked me what she should do because there was a clicking sound coming from the computer and she was worried about her stored information. I recommended these 3 guys whom my husband had used about 3 months ago. She called them and they were able to save her data. She was back up and running within a few days with a new drive in her computer. They were kind enough to help her set up a back up system, at a fraction of the cost which was quoted higher from another service repair place. I highly recommend Computech Center.
