Coffeed is located in the building where I work. It has such potential but falls short in many ways. The wait for your food can be up to 40 minutes for a sandwich, they run out of items on the menu all the time and the service leaves a lot to be desired. It’s a shame as this could be a gold mine if run properly.

I love this place. Not only does it support local charities, but they grow a roof-top garden during the summer to supply some of their veggies. I’ve heard that the house-made salsa is very good. The dirty chai latte is not sweet by default, which I prefer, so it has more of a spice flavor than others, and they offer almond and soy milk for a little variety for dairy-free alternatives. Also, they have a good selection of loose-leaf teas. The breakfast menu has been scaled down, but the frittata with cheddar over greens is great(not on the menu, but sometimes available nonetheless). I usually get an everything bagel with tomato, avocado and cheddar… yum! The location is perfect for catching the subway to Manhattan. There’s plenty of seating for working on a laptop or iPad for the morning. –1 star because at least twice I’ve gotten a drink that wasn’t hot, more like very warm. I need to start asking for it to be extra hot.

I hate to give this place a bad review because it looked very cute and I had high hopes but upon my visit this morning everything was wrong. I was given old chai which was fixed but why are you serving old drinks? Then got an egg sandwich that had microwaved foam like fake eggs in it and then was given the wrong muffin. From a place that prides itself on being local and organic quality ingredients I was very disappointed.

I go to school close by, so I pass this place pretty often. I have a three hour break in between classes this semester, so I decided to stop in to hang out for a bit. It’s a very spacious café, and very nice looking. Clean. Simple. Modest. I ordered a medium almond milk latte, and a little bag of chocolate covered almonds. I put two sugar in the raw and some cinnamon in my latte, and I sat down. Honestly, probably the best latte I ever had, or a close second. The almond milk is obviously a good brand, the espresso is strong but not bitter, and they know exactly how to make the milk frothy and thick, but not foamy. They also didn’t make it too hot which is great for me because I like to chug my coffee drinks. The little bag of chocolate almonds was also delightful. $ 2.25. Sweet, good brand of milk chocolate. The whole atmosphere of this place is great. The baristas are sweet and casual. They get along with each other and converse without being loud and obnoxious. The music is also very low, but a bit poppy to lift your mood subliminally. I will be visiting this place more often. I see that they have food as well, like a salad bar and paninis. I wish I was hungry so I could try it. Next Thursday!

Referred to this place by a colleague, I was very happy with the food and beverage selections. The cappuccino is delicious, the food seems to be moderately fresh. The biggest issues I see are with customer service and the hours. Now — I don’t need a giant neon flashing sign to tell me where to order… but at COFFEED there is(at the time of my visit) no indication of where to place your order. There is a food ‘end’ of the counter and a cash register end… I’ve stood at both, receiving no attention(on multiple visits) from the staff. However while waiting for service, a ‘regular’ will come in, and they are IMMEDIATELY greeted by the staff and their order taken before mine. Secondly, the weekend hours are somewhat troubling. Closing at 6pm? If you’ve been to this place, you’ll note that most of the clientele are college-aged/young adults working on projects or academic work. Closing at 6PM means having to start winding down and packing up your books, laptops, finishing drinks, not to mention trying to find a mentally conducive place to cease your workflow. I’m not suggesting they remain open until midnight. But 6pm on a weekend, when most people are starting their days late to begin with, is just way too early.

Hit or miss. My visit today was definitely a miss. I’m really sad to write a bad review of this place because I’ve had good experiences there in the past, but the sandwich I ordered was disgusting. I got the California. The sandwich seemed to have been microwaved and then put on a panini press. The chicken was bone dry. There was no sauce, no moisture whatsoever on the sandwich. The filling was steaming hot. The bread was hard. The side salad(just lettuce, so not really a salad…) had no dressing or oil whatsoever on it, but it did taste like it had been sprinkled with salt. I would have been ashamed to serve this sandwich to guests at my house — definitely not worth the $ 9 I paid for it. I’m very, very disappointed. I had planned to order a bagel in the first place, but their bakery delivery didn’t come today(on a weekend!). To top it off, they closed 2 hours earlier than posted on their website. I’ve been here a ton of times before and everything has always been great. I’ve never eaten a sandwich from here, though. I don’t think I’ll be back after today’s visit.

Having lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan for awhile where local coffee shops thrived, I was in desperate need of finding a good coffee shop when I moved back to Queens. That’s when I stumbled upon this coffee shop. From the different types of coffee offered to their delicious baked goods/food menu, I cannot highly recommend this place more than I do now. Their baristas are friendly which makes getting my morning coffee all the more enjoyable. Thanks Coffeed for existing!

This is the perfect place for me to spend a lazy weekend afternoon. Delicious coffee, hearty sandwiches and tasty pastries in a fun, decorative space. When I first moved to NYC, I immediately noticed that there was no shortage of a coffeeshops that made a mean cup o’ joe and museum-worthy latte art. However, the majority of these spaces are quite cramped. Only enough space to grab your coffee and go. Which is why I was so happy to visit Coffeed, only a few blocks from my house. The renovated industrial space has a few small tables, a bar with whimsical unicycle designed stools and a big comfy sofa– all of it surrounded by funky art. You can see employees roasting their beans in house, which is pretty cool. The roasts are all tasty and rotate to showcase different origins. My girlfriend and I like to try different single origin drip coffees to see how their flavors contrast. So far, the Ethiopian has been our favorite! A cute gesture they do is they give you half a cookie or a hunk of pastry when you order a sandwich. It’s that little extra touch that makes this place stand out; a place that is as sweet and comforting as a slice of cranberry walnut bread. P.S. This place donates a portion of their sales to local charities in Queens!

The ambience of this coffee shop is pretty sweet. Original artwork can be found hung on the wall and hanging from pipes from the ceiling. It’s very spacey, which is needed for the large traffic that bustles in and out in the mornings. Their brownies are one of the best I’ve had in Astoria. I’m not a big coffee gal, but theirs pleases my taste buds. The staff is friendly and nice, and almost every customer that comes in here seems to be local.

I stayed at the Paper Factory Hotel close by, and so happy to find this place to have a good quality coffee in the morning. Rustic café with friendly baristas and paid a great price for an Americano with steamed soy.

A great place to study or chill with friends. They don’t have the largest selection of food or drinks, but it’s enough to satisfy. The prices are inexpensive yet their food still tastes great, which is amazing. There are plenty of seats, which is great for groups. The only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars is because the AC is really weak. I came here often this past summer and I was a sweaty mess every time. It isn’t too big of a deal, but it would be great if it was cooler.

An outpost of excellent coffee in a land(Astoria) generally bare of high quality coffee. I love this place. Their coffee is flavorful, reasonably priced and they have decent food options. This is a good place to work with a reasonable number of outlets and lots of good seating. Baristas are all nice and overall this is a great place to spend a few hours. They seem to have beer also, though I’ve never been for anything besides coffee.

Their coffee was great and their lox sandwich was pretty delicious. The reason why Im only giving it three stars is maybe I had high expectations on this place. I’ve passed by it a lot, loved the outside and for months I’ve been wanting to try it. Finally I did and I can say that I’ve gone to better coffee shops. The inside is pretty messy still, you can kinda tell they’re new, I saw storage stuff tucked behind one of the counters that wasn’t being used. The ambiance wasn’t as great as I expected either. However their staff was pretty friendly and helpful. They were welcoming when I mentioned it was my first time there. I will come back though to try their banana cake because they ran out of it when I was there. That was the main reason I wanted to check it out. We’ll see what my next experience will be, first impressions aren’t everything.

COFFEED serves up strong cups of joe, and their staff could not be more welcoming. Not to mention, if you’re into the stiffer stuff, they’ve got a few decent beers on tap as well. The space itself is nicely laid out, with couches, chairs and tables. But if you’re looking for a café to get some work done at, I would say skip this one. I went on a Saturday afternoon which was busy but not packed. I had to search pretty hard to find an outlet(there are only two in the whole place, one of which was occupied and the other which was hidden by a giant stuffed teddy bear they had seated on one of the couches.) I could have overlooked the lack of outlets, had this place had some A/C going. It was an 85 degree day and all they had to cool their customers down were some measly fans. Between the heat and the group of people who were getting turnt up at the«bar» by the beer taps, I ended up leaving and working at a Starbucks down the road. Also noteworthy, there’s a ton of construction going on outside this place. If you want to get to COFFEED, be prepared to brave the fake sidewalk they laid out on this really busy street.

I totally forgot about this place & then saw them at Queens Taste & it brought back good memories. I ordered delivery bc I’m lazy & they brought it to my work in a Coffeed tote bag!!! I mean if that’s not worth 4 stars alone idk what is!!! Ok, containing my excitement, their cold brew is smooth. I like my coffee black so I’m a good judge of quality. I totally would order this again. I don’t even know what else I ordered other than the fact it came in that awesome bag, woops.

L.I.C. is one of my favorite places in the city, but it’s still in the process of adding desperately needed businesses. While making plans with a close friend, I thought of a summer Unilocal event hosted by Coffeed. This time, I came here during the middle of winter, not too long ago, and the space looked comfortable enough to spend hours talking. Large industrial spaces like this can come off as cold. However, the tasteful placement of wooden tables, plush seating and greenery make it feel much more welcoming. The tall windows let in tons of sunlight; this would also be a great spot for studying or working. When I walked in, I was greeted in a friendly manner. There was a Unilocal promotion going on for a free small coffee with the purchase of a brownie. I wanted to order the Sumatra blend, but the cashier informed me that they had just poured it out. She offered me whatever was left. The coffee I had was very sub-par; it was almost tasteless and I struggled to discern a difference between the one I consumed here and one I might have had at Dunkin’ Donuts. The brownie, however, was deliciously decadent and so smooth. I was ready to order another coffee to accompany the chocolate richness. Until a half hour through our talk, one of the staff came over to say they were closing. It was 5 pm and they had ‘winter hours.’ This was a shock to us since they 1. had no signs anywhere to indicate they would be closing sooner, nor 2. did not tell us while we were ordering(my friend arrived before I did). It is not uncommon that winter hours would be in effect, but I have always been told upfront– before I order and pay. As I had said, the area is not known for many choices in terms of restaurants and businesses. We had to cut this coffee break short to walk 10 minutes in search of warm shelter. Had the coffee been stellar and the staff been thoughtful and mindful enough, Coffeed would have easily garnered higher praise.

2.8 Not my cup of coffee. Given that Coffeed seems the perfect formula in a location with easy subway access, I would have predict I would become the duchess in no time. A big open space that keep the industrial warehouse style that once was, dressed in vibrant colors, modern designs together with rustic pieces of furniture like in a coffee plantation house somewhere else. The surroundings are extremely addicting to look, for a few minutes at least, and each element stands on its own. Wifi on the house with a catchy password, diverse seating options including round tables and colorful chairs, or comfortable armchairs and sofas. You may perhaps prefer a long wooden comunal table to get more personal space and spread your work around. You got it. Studying, chatting, having a relaxing time is something you will surely get. Coffeed seems the perfect formula also because of what is said in their website; locally produce everything is served, community support and charity are ingredients composing their mission Food options are simple; salads, sandwiches, sweets and other treats are available. Coffee is their specialty and preparation seems something that is been taken care in deep detail. I personally find beautiful the display of several slow drip cold brewer towers. However the coolest idea and space will hardly make up for average coffee, average tea and below average service. While everything sounds perfect on the paper, it lacked substance on the essentials. To me, in order to get Coffeed, I would stay just for the space and to support a business with conscience, overlooking however anything else.

Wanted to come here ever since it opened. Today I finally got free time and dropped in for an iced latte which was pretty good. But the whole likeability of the place lays in the casual hip/quirky atmosphere. Along with the coffee, not only can you just lounge out, hang out, play games/cards but also grab a brew of beer. I think I noticed SingleCut and a small wine list by the cup or bottle. And you can also get bags of coffee. There’s also a food/salad bar. The strip on Northern Blvd it is in is a bit odd and hard to get parking but the view of cars passing by near the windows is not too bad.

Close to the subway station. If you are passing by and in the area, getting their banana bread and coffee is the best combination around. Especially when this place is in the middle of nowhere and all other buildings are just industrial lofts and car dealerships. Coffee tasted a bit watered down, but compared to Dunkin donuts it’s about the same. Plenty of tables and people on their laptops leeching off that wifi. There are event nights for poetry and whatnot that’s worth a visit.

In Long Island City, an area that is seemingly desperate for quality coffee(amongst many other things), COFFEED offers Queens residents a great destination for flavorful pour-over coffee from single origins that are great for consuming in-house or for brewing at home. They also serve excellent beer and wine, but I am all about the coffee. The space is actually sizeable as far as a coffee shop is concerned. The combination of large wooden communal tables, small two-seaters table tops, and couches give COFFEED a loungy ambiance that is quite unique for Queens in general. The large windows are great for soaking in natural light for the space, something that 90% of coffee houses in Manhattan do not have. Being located near the subway and accessibility to the R and M subway trains also encourages travel for Manhattanites to know more about this part of Queens. And for those who gravitate towards good causes, a percentage of their coffee sales also goes to charity. Good coffee and charity. I am sold.
