The classiest beer hall I’ve been to yet. Jazz music and a Charlie Chapman film were playing in the background providing a feeling of being in the jazz age. The bar was exquisite an the bartender was very cheerful and helpful. Would have expected more beers on tap but will defintely be back!

this place is great. awesome beer and food selection. its onlya 5 minute walk from the first stop on the 7 line. great service. if you like craft beer and food, this is the spot! less than than an hour from No. Bronx on train. i ride my bike a lot down there, so in summer, i will stop by and have a nice beer and pretzel. it samazing how LIC has changed.25 years ago, no one wanted to go there. now its all craft beer and millon dollar condos and hipsters. Change is good sometimes. PS.I had a root beer float with beer in and ice cream in was amazing!

Bottom Line: Solid Addition to the LIC Neighborhood I agree with every other LIC resident who reviewed this place — Bierocracy is a great place to grab a quick bite and drink. What I like the most about Bierocracy is their prices. Beers on tap range from $ 7-$ 9. If you’re a bourbon fan, Ridgemont Reserve 1792 is only $ 11, Basil Hayden and Blanton’s are only $ 13. The food is good and not overpriced. I ordered the Sausage Sample — 5 pieces of sausage with sauerkraut and mustard for $ 12. A great cheap little meal. What separates Bierocracy from all the other German, Bavarian beer halls is their love of all beers. You’re not stuck just ordering European beers. You can order American craft if you want. Bierocracy’s B-Witte is actually Ommegang Witte — a solid white wheat beer.

Great athmosphere, great friendly staff! Good bier and delicious pretzel you must try! Just delicious! Wasn’t that blown away with fruit dumplings through. The fries here is good too! Definitely a place to check out!

A nice beer hall in LIC with huge tables and a pretty good German inspired beer menu. The beer is brewed on premises and though the number of choices isn’t vast, the wheat beer and dark Belgian style witte are pretty good if not a bit generic with appropriate maltiness and clove flavors. Service was good, but nothing outstanding and they didn’t seem to know the beer or brewing process super well, but could at least describe the flavors and similar styles. To stick out a bit more, they may need to differentiate the beer a bit more with unique flavors, especially in the quickly growing craft beer scene of LIC.

New beer hall in LIC is nicely done with tables up front for small groups and large picnic tables in the back for large groups. Beautiful bar in the center of the space and white subway tile throughout the restaurant create a bright space. Unfortunately their kitchen was down the night I visited due to an issue with con ed, so I was only able to try the pretzels, which where served with beer cheese and some very spicy mustard that I loved. Beer menu had several good German choices and thankfully there are rotating daily specials for folks like me that don’t like German beer; Founders IPA was available when I was there. Service was very attentive and friendly.

Great addition to the LIC hood. Decent beer selection with a couple of rotating drafts. Tasty pub fare with good service both times we’ve been there. Bierocracy also has ample room with a nice big screen TV for sporting events. Definitely coming back.

Bierocracy is fine addition to the neighborhood as nothing covers this cuisine. The place looks nice… and still smells new.(I hope to give a better review after some of that wears off.) The beers were fresh, and I’ll be the first to admit I’m no sophisticate when it comes to beer. Ok. You can call me all out boring, and I couldn’t necessarily disagree. but I do love simple German/Belgian Pilsners that aren’t too hoppy or acidic.(Goffel, Stella, etc) Nothing on draft fit the bill for me perfectly, unless I missed something. That said, the lines were clean, and the beer fresh. The food was good, but didn’t send me to the moon. The menu says«a new take on Czech bierhaus food…» What’s wrong with the old take?(I’m a boring traditionalist that likes boring beer.) I felt like I wanted the food to be more simple. The sausage plate was good. The sauerkraut was excellent. I’ve had Czech style sausage that I’ve liked better elsewhere in NYC, but it’s nice to get it just down the road. I wish the mustard sauce that came with the sausage was just… really good straight-ahead prepared mustard. The potatoes were tasty… had a mustard based sauce on them that was a bit reminiscent of the mustard sauce you get with the sausage… The cucumber salad felt more like a greek or Mediterranean style salad with garlic and yogurt. It was tasty, but I was jones-ing for a more vinegar based pickle-y kind of salad that cuts… well… the mustard! Maybe I didn’t do a great job of ordering, but the dishes didn’t compliment each other as much as I hoped they would.(We ordered the sausage sampler, the fingerling potatoes, and the cucumber salad.) And now for the cultural/esthetic cheap shot section of the review: Right now, Bierocracy feels like a concept restaurant with investors doing diligent research on the tastes(and the incomes) of the new folks in the neighborhood. The bartenders wear theme-approved uniforms, and the staff we talked to seemed really«happy™» It’s also a very welcome place for the statistically proven increase of children in the neighborhood, and I hope Bierocracy doesn’t allow them to sit at the bar with their parents. When we were leaving, a huge group with many many strollers lumbered in. I have nothing against children per se, however, if you’re not in the mood to have them around while you’re swigging swill from your stein, consider yourself forewarned. When I bring family visiting from the Midwest to the neighborhood with their kids, I’d probably bring them here. My other cheap shot is the name…“Bierocracy” I’m all for puns, believe you me. I love other places built on puns. But, it’s all about the root of the word that’s being punned. Who wants a bureaucracy? When is that fun? All right. Cheap shot section finished. All in all, nothing here was bad. I’m sure I’ll be back more times,(I live very close) and perhaps I’ll update this review. If I could give 3.5 I would. In the past I’ve usually rounded up to 4, but, alas, as I’ve mentioned about certain other places in the hood: Not my scene, man.

Large, beautiful, new space. Great for crowds. Service staff is warm and welcoming. Great beer list. Pretty cost effective for NYC, if a little pricer than other places in LIC. Would enthusiastically return!

Well-considered but not extensive selection of beers vom Fass, mainly of the German or Bohemian persuasion, in an absolutely gorgeous, pristine, expansive beer hall with bar, beer hall, and four-top seating. A Bock would add further dimension to the beer list. Their great house lagers(a golden and a dark lager… the house Witte is brewed by a well-known upstate NY brewery) are brewed by the original Czech Budweiser, Budvar, from Budejovice, which a few years ago told Anheiser-Busch where they could stick their buy-out offer. The food… I had duck confit… was really good, but the somewhat lackluster, wilty brussel sprouts with bacon that was nothing but charcoal suggested perhaps the kitchen needs some to time to solidify its game.

The place is big and great for large groups. The bar is large and has a huge variety of fun drinky drinks. They didn’t have any gluten free beer options but have only one cider. We sat at the bar, just two of us. The service was ok. We were never asked if we needed food and when we ran out of drinks noone made any offering. We had to ask for attention. Overall, it was a decent experience, however, I like other LIC spots so much more and would pick those over Bierocracy.

What a great new place!!! It is amazing! The beer list is wonderful and the food was great too! I had the pretzel, which came with the best cheese to dip in!!! I also had the sausage sampler, which offer a great variety of deliciousness. For beer we had the B-Witte and a special Czech beer, which both were great! The service was impeccable! Irena was fabulous! So attentive and offered great descriptions of the specials! The décor is beautiful! Perfect atmosphere. And finally for a Tuesday night, there were a lot of great people, a really nice crowd of business professionals! Can’t wait to come back!

So I Came again on Thursday, they had an amazing band some funky jazz serenaded us while we dined, we actually came for just some beers but the kitchen was open late so we had to get a couple of pretzels, and a brisket dip sandwich, again everything was on point, and the bar serves booze too so my «non beer drinking friend» had some great options. 5 stars this time, Im a fan!

I was here a few days ago and I love this spot! I am obsessed with neighborhood joints and throw place fits in perfectly! LIC has been known for copycats once a restaurant does well! So I am happy to see a new place that isn’t afraid to take some risks being first! The staff is super friendly and courteous! They were really helpful with the beer options as well. We only order a side but will be back for entrees. The place isn’t opened for lunch yet but will soon! The place ha also baby friendly with high chairs and all!

I was super excited to see that Bierocracy finally opened and recently got to try it out. The beer was good but the food and service were pretty abysmal. The beer was tasty and fresh. No problems here. The food however was another story. The«brisket» sandwich consisted of strands of brisket on bread. It was more bread then«brisket». Look at the picture attached to the review for visual proof. Further it just didn’t taste like much. None of the flavors really stood out and there wasn’t enough brisket to over power the bread! Avoid at all costs. The charcuterie was decent but not anything special. You can go to Murrays in Grand Central and get the same exact cheese and meats. What would have been nice though would have been any sort of identification as to what we were eating. The menu description just says a «selection» of fine meats and cheeses, so when you pay $ 19 for three meats and two cheeses and threes sauces and they are plopped down in front of you, I damn well want to know what I’m going to be eating! Service… It’s a new place so the staff still had to be broken in I suppose. While deciding on food, the waiter came twice in the span of one minute asking for our food order. after we said we needed a minute, we had to flag her down after waiting 10 minutes. Getting the check was like trying to get a taxi in Manhattan during rush hour. To make a long review short– come for the beer, avoid the food.

I’m really disappointed in this new addition to the Long Island City beer scene. Rating breakdown: Food — 1 star, Beers — 4 stars, Service — 2 stars. This explains my overall 2 star rating. When we first entered the establishment at 7 pm on Saturday night, we were immediately asked for an ID and a credit card to «Hold our table» before we even ordered drinks. I think this is really weird and unnecessary — and even a little offensive? — for the laid-back location and vibe of the restaurant. Considering the place was only half-full at the time, and it was just my boyfriend and I wanting to eat(not a huge group), it seemed really odd that we had to provide a credit card before we ate/drank here. I guess they get a lot of couples that like to dine and dash? Not sure, but it’s an odd policy. The beers we ordered were fresh and came quick. No complaints. It took a while for us to order food because our waitress disappeared for a bit. Finally, we ordered the open-faced brisket sandwich and the cheese/charcuterie for two. For the $ 11 brisket sandwich, I was envisioning a heaping portion of brisket, steaming hot, thick sliced, and piled high — much like what you would receive at Katz’s deli or Mighty Quinn’s. Instead what we received was a single piece of white toast covered with a thin layer of torn, grayish mystery meat hidden under a layer of shaved pecorino cheese. The sandwich was more cheese than meat and a total disappointment. There was no flavor here and no warmth. The charcuterie plate was a bit better than the brisket — it consisted of four different dried meats and two cheeses. But the bread it was served with was dried out and inedible, and the waitress was unable to tell us exactly what was on the plate(the menu did not have a description), so we were eating mystery meats for the second time in one meal. Everything on the food menu was too pricey and we weren’t full at all after ordering two dishes. I would definitely return to sit at the bar and have a beer. But I would never order food here again, and I wouldn’t sit at the tables and deal with the odd service again.

I had a great time. Our server, Krista, was hysterical, engaging, and attentive. That was definitely the high point of the visit. The beer menu had enough variety but wasn’t overwhelming. The crowd seemed a bit corporate initially, but that changed towards the end. I would visit again.

2nd night here, both times the food and bier was spot on. Tonight the belly was nicely caramelized and fork tender the complimenting slaw cut the sweetness and fat nicely. Paired with the Hofbrau well. First time around had the Duck salad. It was to say the least intresting explosion of flavors and textures. The fishnchips with Whiting was fresh and light. Tartar sauce exceptional reminded our daughter of Swiss tartar. Schnitzel with Fingerling tater salad and cucumber salad delicious a classic. Seems like Otto is on the right path.
