7. week later, my S/​O place found a bed bug at his home (they clean every day, never had bed bug before)

Didn’t even stay here because problems and red flags right off the top. My husband and I were moving and broke so his mom booked us a room here online, went to the hotel and it was very sketchy we’re only allowed to park one vehicle due to a tiny parking lot (not ok we had everything we owned in our vehicles) we thought we would figure something out and proceeded to give them identification and filled out info sheet but then they said we had to pay even though it was paid with a credit card online, that’s when I said forget it, I asked for the copy of driver license back since we aren’t staying and the owner refused to give it to me. We argued for a few minutes and then he ripped it up n still tried to keep it! Finally after getting loud he gave me the shredded paper and we left. Super ghetto area and they take vouchers so a lot of homeless stay there. Do not go there unless you want to smoke crack with a hooker.

Friendly staff. Clean room with fridge and microwave but no ice machine on premises. Lots of tv channels on Dish. Would have given 5 stars but the bed was lumpy.

and it is also listed in one of the Lonely Planet publications. There are so many motels located on this stretch of the highway and it is difficult to know which are places to recommend. I like this place since it is one storied and on a quiet block of Hwy 1. The rooms do not have carpeting, they have a large flat screen w/​Direct tv, a microwave and refrigerator. The beds are firm and the water is extremely HOT and very fast. The caretaker and his wife are very friendly; I spent hours taking to him about life in India since I’ve visited twice. From the photos, the room looks as though it has been remodeled somewhat recently but a few items are showing wear n tear, such as the furniture or the aircon unit. ONE really important note, the noise level is generally low from Hwy 1, but sometimes you’ll hear a noisy motorcycle or open exhaust auto/​truck. The closest businesses are the Goodwill across the street or the liquor store and motel one block down. ALL of the pedestrian action takes place further south on Hwy 1 a number of blocks away. BEWARE that this is a working class area and some of you may be threatened by this reality. One negative, the wifi can be painfully slow.
