Nice local bar, good atmosphere, good music, great wine! Can order food from the Italian next door. What else do you really need? Bar tender is a good lad, too.

I met someone here for drinks one Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised at this little gem of a place. There is a bit of construction going on out front so it may be hard to see from the street right now, hopefully the construction will be completed soon. There are a handful of street parking places out front or you can park in the apartment complexes parking structure. I’ve heard the wine bar will validate but that it’s rather expensive to park there if you plan on being there much past the validated time period. I was greeted warmly upon entering but he bartender. He was quick to show me the beer & wine lists. He also told me that I had a few minutes before happy hour was over(yes, happy hour pricing on a Saturday evening!). He let me have a few sips of the red ale and peach IPA they had on tap so that I could decide which one I preferred. I was quite impressed at the craft beer list that this wine bar had. The bartender also showed me the outdoor patio seating and the big shelving unit full of board games they had. This is a great place to grab a drink or two with some friends in a very relaxed environment and play a game or two if you’re into board games. I’ll definitely be back

Audrey and Brenton rule. They are always running out of Alex’s Beef jerky!!! Gotta work on that Alex. Wines are great with the environment. A true Cheers neighborhood bar feeling. Warm and happy. Thursday half prices on bottles!!! Great deal. As is everything!!! Without Audrey and Brenton the place would hurt. All about service and personality!!!

Brenton is a lovely guy who really makes you feel welcome. The wine options are excellent. Live music was also brilliant l. The DJ this night was playing 80’s awesome! Running out of adjectives so will wrap up this review. That’s a few 5 star reviews this week. Just wish I’d discovered this place a week ago.

The Wine Bar is great! Tuesday night has the best deals on glasses and bottles of wine. Almost half off! Brenton is incredibly knowledgable and makes amazing recommendations. My girlfriend and I have made this our regular stop after work.

I was staying at the nearby hotel, and was in desperate need of finding a chill spot to watch my game, escape the sun, and enjoy a friendly beverage. And, really, I wanted to avoid the big chain restaurant bars and their overpriced drinks. When Unilocal presented The Wine Bar as a sports-friendly spot, I was confused. Wine? Sports??? Perhaps this is a Long Beach thing, but I pretty much never see these two things(both of which I have a deep love for) paired together. In doubt, I called in, and the friendly manager assured me that this was, in fact, true. They don’t have any special sports packages, but they were playing the games being shown on the typical sports or local channels. Even more shocking is that this is a legit wine bar. The Wine Bar offers a good selection of well-priced wines(and some beers as well) in a friendly, spacious, clean environment. The games were on in the bar area, but it does not have a sports bar feel at all, so you can easily relax and converse. Extra bonuses: happy hour prices on a Saturday, an extra 10% off thanks to a Unilocal check in, super friendly service from Brenton(manager), and some snacks(think hummus, charcuterie, chocolate, etc). The next time I find myself in Long Beach, I will definitely be stopping by.

Great wine selection, good happy hour and fabulous staff. I love Brenton. He knows my palate and always suggests great wines. We even have a great game of «guess the wine». I’ve won one and lost one.

I found this place due to the live music playing that night at the bar. I’ve been to many wine bars, and they’ve been hit or miss on having good wine. Now, I only had one glass of wine, but it was very good. I will be back to try more. The reason I’ll be back is because Brenton(owner or manager??) made me feel incredibly welcome, and I’m looking forward to more live music and wine/beer.

This place was quaint, kind of hard to locate because its in an office like building. So the day i visited there was an event going on so we were the only outside party, which was fine. The reason for my 3 stars however is the fact that i wanted to order food but they literally had run out of everything… the only thing they had left was white bread. They did give us the option however to order from the pizza place next door, but really, how do you run out of everything? I prefer having some cheese or chocolate or something with my wine. On a positive note however, this place had board games, good service and the option to purchase wines you had tried, which was a plus!

Every time I go in I wonder why I don’t go there more often. Spent a lot of time there during the Super Bowl and had such a great time. The crowd was great, the bartenders were super chill(gotta love Alex ;)), they had snacks, and great wine. Definitely going to make it a point to keep coming back, you feel welcomed and appreciated. That’s a nice feeling :)

Come on!!! Not only is Brenton the best damn bartender/server, but this place has the best weekly specials in Long Beach. Tuesday night(½ off bottle wines) Thursday night($ 2 off drafts). $ 2 off bites till 7pm. Can’t go wrong with The Wine Bar. Ambience is fantastic, great selection of board games, plenty of room to watch the big game and hang with friends. BTW, what makes Brenton the best??? He works hard but at the same time takes care of the guests. He gets to know them personally, remembers the guest upon return, and makes great recommendations based on the guest wants. I will definitely return with friends and perhaps throw a private party soon.

I love a great non-pretentious place to unwind with a glass of red after a long days work. This is the place. Local, friendly crowd. Good wine. A beer tap. Televisions. Good conversation. Can’t ask for more. Bartenders are knowledgable and attentive, and most of all. Patient! Hahaha(lots of interesting alcohol lovers here, you know who you are!) Great place!

You want cheese with that WINE I was here for a WINE focus group meeting to see if we(a few peeps) and our fearless leader liked the place enough to have a full out, invite everyone, shindig, Meetup here. I decided to go early because I was starving and wanted to grab something to eat before everyone arrived. Plus I needed to make sure I had food on my stomach to absorb the WINE and still be able to drive home. I had checked them out on Unilocal of course and saw that they had some flatbread pizzas and some sort of sandwich with fries even though I could not find either item located on their menu. The place is fairly easy to find because it’s located right on Ocean by the Camden apts. It’s pretty much located on the other side of the Hyatt the Pike Long Beach hotel which is by Shoreline Village, The Laugh Factory, Famous Dave’s, etc. So you can walk over if you’re in the area. They serve both wine and beer so you have a bit of a choice. It’s NOT a BAR, BAR type of place! If you check in on your trusty Unilocal app you get 10% off your entire bill. Since I was there during HAPPYHOUR the happy hour prices were better so I didn’t use my check-in, once I was ready to skittle, which was NOT a big deal. I get there and park in the parking structure that is located between the two apartment buildings and slightly to the right. There is a big«PARKING —» letters to point you in the right direction so you really can’t miss it! THEWINEBAR will validate up to 2 hours. I walk in and the place is small but sort of cozy! I was expecting something more casual chic being in the new updated DTLB but it was still NICE! One of the owners was there but I didn’t catch his name. He came right over and asked what I wanted as I sat down on the comfy sofa near the window. I saw that they didn’t have the sandwich of flat bread pizza I was looking to get but he had some BBQ Pork with pickles and baguettes to make mini sliders and I got a Pellegrino since he didn’t have club soda! They didn’t seem to have much seating. Other than the comfy sofa and chair near the window where I was seating all other seating was at tables or the bar area and the tables only had about 5 chairs for 4 tables. Not a good setup for an event. When my little BBQ pork plate came out I was NOT happy because there was NOWAY I was going to be able to make any mini BBQ sliders with over toasted baguettes. I did my best to just use the baguettes like crackers but by the baguettes being over toasted it made it a crumbly mess down the front of my shirt and pants. I looked like a 2 year old eating which was not cute! The BBQ Pork was nothing special. It was a bit spicy but not over the top and tasted like those BBQ meat mini tubs you get at the grocery store already prepared. It didn’t satisfy me at all and wasn’t enough food on my stomach for me to be wine tasting and then be able to drive home. NOBUENO. So I tried to order a meat and cheese plate with a Mascado. It didn’t go with any food I was getting but it’s a no brainer go-to wine for me! Just then my peeps started to arrive! He didn’t have the meat and cheese plate I was seeing on the Unilocal pics but he was SUPERSWEET and added one meat(salami) with the 3 cheese, olives and more of those toasted baguettes from before! I should have asked for crackers. More peeps arrived and we were ordering wine, small plates and having GREAT conversation! It’s a GOOD thing this was just a focus group because we filled up the little area near the winder with only 13 people and it was tight. We ended up spreading out to a table and using chairs to all be together. It was a nice evening out with peeps but I don’t think it would be good place for my group. I didn’t like that they don’t have any real food like flat bread pizza, sliders, and meat cheese and fruit plates to help with drinking. I was REALLYHOPING to LOVE this place but in the end it was just«A-OK»!

The Wine Bar is quaint and low key. If you’re looking to rage and get drunk, do not go here. However, this is the place to be if you’re looking for a nice, quiet location to converse and relax with a friend. My sister stopped by around 10pm Saturday night. It was primarily empty– which may or may not have been a result of the check point across the street. We grabbed seats on the comfy couches in the corner of the bar, and the bartender was quick to stop by and greet us. The bartender here really knew his stuff. My sister asked for a menu with detailed descriptions of the wine but alas, no menu but the bartender knew it all! I ordered a wine flight which came with three tastings, and asked for something light, medium and heavier. He took care of it and made an excellent selection of wines. I was a little disappointed that most of their wines were from 07 to present. Nothing earlier than that. We also ordered a cheese plate, which was ok– I was not thoroughly impressed. We parked along Ocean Blvd for free, but I believe there is alternative parking elsewhere.

Salute to 2014! What a perfect way to start the year with a 4.5 star review to The Wine Bar in Long Beach. My friend and I met here on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and groove of this low key establishment. As you walk in, you’ll see the bar, tables, comfortable seating in the front and if you want more privacy, head to the back with limited seating but more outside on the patio. The lighting was a soft glow which gave it a relaxed and cozy feeling. Now the drinks… they serve over 20+ wines by the glass or bottle and a few craft beers. No cocktails. My choice of the evening was a generous pour from a medium body Argentina malbec($ 9). The wine menu was extremely easy to read and the bartender was helpful with suggestions for beginners to wine enthusiasts. Service was attentive as he was checking on us several times throughout the night. They are located inside the Camden Harbor View Apartments facing Ocean Blvd. Be sure to park in the apartment complex and grab a parking ticket as they will validate it. If you looking to get drunk, this is not your place. I would highly recommend The Wine Bar to have an intimate conversation as the volume is not loud. So raise your glass and enjoy your sip with your company.

Great cost. Great outside seating. I came here to grab a drink and cigar with a buddy and had a fantastic time. They pour generously. Be careful of the parking, though. We almost got stuck inside because the machine didn’t work until we harry pottered it and escaped.
