SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union

I’ve been a fan of Schools 1^st since I joined. Today’s visit to the branch was the cherry on top. I was warmly greeted and the teller took care of my transaction efficiently with the most positive spirit of someone working on beautiful Saturday afternoon. And they were playing Watch Me Whip/​Nae Nae softly as background music!

Let me start by saying Andrew and Jenny are amazing. I bought a used car from one of dealers listed as a FastTrack location and they put my financing through Wells Fargo instead of Schools First. I came into the branch to get help and Andrew and Jenny went out of their way to make sure that I left knowing that everything would work out. I went in upset and left calm and very confident in their help. Not only did they help me get my car loan over to SchoolsFirst but they cut my interest from 8.86 to 4%!!!
I have been a member from way back (OCTFCU DAYS) and I will never bank anywhere else and the 2^nd Street branch will be my branch no matter where I end up living.

I’ve liked the branches in Cypress and Fountain Valley, but this location is like the Morton’s of credit unions. Only they don’t need to scrape the crumbs off your table because it’s never crummy. Everyone looks at you with a smile like you’re holding a puppy in one hand and flowers in the other and a pizza on your head. Sometimes I show up just one minute before closing and nobody rolls their eyes or tells me the shake machine isn’t working. The dude with the glasses always wants to open the door for me (well, when I’m leaving at least). There’s always water and sometimes coffee. I go there for quarters and they treat me like I’m depositing gold. I hope they never… wait for it… change. (giggle)

I have been a member of SchoolsFirst since it was OCTFCU. I have always received A+ service and products, but I was ecstatic when they opened a branch down the street from me in Long Beach. The service at this branch will exceed your expectations guaranteed.

All the School’s First branches are great but I recently started going to this one because of my recent move. Everybody is so friendly such as Andrew and Samuel they always have the same positive and warming attitude every time I come. Andrew goes out his way to get the job done and makes sure you are satisfied and than sends you one your way but not without walking you to the door and opening it for you. Everybody is so nice here and I wouldn’t even think about changing banks plus I love their mints

I’m not an educator so I do not have an account here and the staff still treated me as if I did. I just needed some change and I was a part of another credit union. I’ve gone a few times because of the location and even if I can’t give them the business, I will give them the praise and recommendation!

I actually created a Unilocal account strictly to write a review for this branch. I have always received excellent service here, but about a week and a half ago they blew my mind.
After a fraud scare, they sent out replacement cards to members. Probably due to my mail carrier, I never received my card after 3 attempts. They finally sent it to a branch for me to pick up. I of course left it to the last minute, and rushed into this branch on the way to the airport. I was leaving for 2.5 weeks, and my current card would be cancelled during this trip. I went to the wrong branch, apparently my card was at the Spring/​Palo Verde location. I was about to cry because there are no branches in New Mexico, obviously, and I was going to be without money. The teller who helped me (and I feel like SUCH a jerk for not noting his name in my frantic self-​absorbed rush) ended up Fed-​Exing it to me, at no charge, to my Mom’s house in New Mexico. This was Friday, my card made it by Monday.
I hope the gentleman who helped me sees this, thank you so very much for going above and beyond to help me!

I love my credit union! Always friendly, efficient and ready to help! So glad they opened another location in Long Beach. Just refinanced my car loan with them and are even happier. Thank you!

This is the best bank and branch that I have ever been to. Sometimes I just want to walk in there to feel better about myself. Everyone in there makes you feel like you were on the cover of the Rolling Stone and haven’t found out about it yet. They have parking in back, which is super convenient. I get frustrated with online banking and when I go in there, the wool is lifted from my eyes and it is just the best. I don’t know why anyone would go to the ATM when you could go inside and be helped by someone like Rodrigo.
This is the place to bank.

This is quite possibly the nicest branch I’ve ever been to. Natalie was such a great help in setting up savings accounts for both my kids. I went in today during my lunch hour and she knew I didn’t have much time. She was able to complete everything within 30min. The service is wonderful. It was also very convenient to my office and wasn’t crowded at all. This is a much nicer branch than the Cypress location.

It’s nice that, though this was an OC based bank initially, they’ve at least expanded to Long Beach.
Their ATMs are the store front, but there is an inside with tellers to the right. The ATMs are more high tech than the ones at other locations: they scan your checks on deposit, read them, and process them. No need for an envelope.
Wish it wasn’t in the hell that is 2^nd St. I suppose full time education employees live there, but some of us live further into Long Beach. Somewhere with slightly less traffic and slightly more (than no) parking would be ideal.
