Portfolio coffee is a quaint coffee shop with lots of sitting room and cool décor. I had the chai tea latte for $ 3.15 and it was nice and foamy :) it’s a great place to sit and get work done

I love how cute this coffeehouse is! Located right next to the thrift shops on 4th street. The cashier was nice and friendly, but I wish she told us that even if we asked to dine in, our drinks would be at the counter to the right. My friend and I didn’t realize our drinks were done for a while until we stood up and checked after we got our meal. Overall, I had a really good experience and the BLT we ordered for the daily special was good, along with the iced vanilla latte I ordered to go with my sandwich. I will be back soon!

Decided to jog here one morning for coffee after reading others reviews, and I absolutely loved it! I ordered a large iced chai latte & a mini bacon breakfast sandwich. The coffee came up quick and was one of the best iced lattes I have had! I had an emergency Coke up and told them to cancel the sandwich or give it to someone on the house house and they offered to rush it, or make it to go. I politely declined since I was the one who had to rush out and the cashier handed me cards for two free coffees on my next visit! Super sweet! Will definitely be back… today! :)

I spent a lovely afternoon here this past Sunday. I ordered a peach herbal tea and a Chinese chicken salad wrap. Both came out to around $ 12 and the wrap was really small but very tasty with cranberries, spicy hummus, and crunchy uncooked chow mein noodles. The coffeehouse itself is beautiful and spacious while being cozy and easy to settle into. There are small cushions on the couch seating, a bar area with outlets for your laptop, and small tables scattered across a pretty big space for a coffee shop. Natural sunlight brightens up the whole area and the AC is just right. Great place to study or get some work done!

Came here on a recommendation. I really liked it. Its on a corner, when i came it was pretty busy. But the service was fast . 4 stars only because we had to take it to go since there was no sitting.

Good lattes and sweet desserts to pair with your coffee. Roomy place, nice in door seating… not so nice outdoor seating. Felt like there could be a drive by at anytime

Salted caramel ice blended is the most unique beverage ever! So good, worth the drive out here whenever we pass through Long Beach. Parking lot is tiny, but we’ve always had good luck and found a spot.

Came here about at 9 am Monday. A lot of seating, front area for talking and back is quiet. The small latte was good and friendly service. Prices are reasonable. There was a lot of coming and going, and more people come to work and study so come early to ensure getting table in the back. People shared the tables. Has a mixture of clientele: young, old, street people, students, pets, etc. Right on the corner of 4th and Junipero. Seating outside too.

Eh. I only got a Mini Breakfast Bacon Panini and sat outside. If you’re trying to do work/study, sitting outside can be distracting cause people talk loudly, loud cars, people walking by, and the school bell across the street. Sandwich was like a Starbucks sandwich, they’re good but nothing special. They ran out of croissants sadly. I’ll maybe come back to try a drink if they have seating available. Also parking sucks. You gotta park residential or in the back lot which is 1 hour max before tow. Literally every table you could possibly use is packed with other students so good luck!

I enjoy this place for cranking out the papers or whatever needs to be done. They have plenty of seats available and even more towards the back side of the store. The workers are very helpful here, and always quite friendly! As far as the coffee goes it was pretty good, many dairy-free options, the Mexican chocolate mocha with almond milk is probably my favourite. The reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because they don’t have vegan cream cheese, they offer so many vegan pastry options but no cream cheese? Didn’t really make sense to me! Also as far as parking goes make sure to check the signs around the area, my last visit I received a ticket! When the sign says 2 hours they mean 2 hours, shocker right? But just be aware that you will need to move your car if you plan on staying in the coffee shop for a while.

I’ve been coming to Portfolio Coffee House for six years. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in all of Long Beach. Recently the bike racks outside of Portfolio were removed. This was very surprising to me in light of the fact that LB is such a bike friendly city. I biked here today for my usual Saturday morning coffee and was disappointed to see that the bike racks had still not been replaced and that the only other rack available was full. I bike to Portfolio because it is close to my house and I want to allow for parking spots for the other patrons who don’t live as close as I do who have to drive here. Furthermore, easy access to secure bike racks promotes bike commuting, which helps reduce the amount of carbon emissions that we, as a city, produce. I would like to respectfully ask the owner of Portfolio and the owner of the space that Portfolio operates from to replace the bike racks. I really enjoy coming to Portfolio and would hate to have to find another coffee shop simply because there are no bike racks for patrons to use. Thank you!

The Portfolio café is located in the trendy and eclectic part of 4th st in Long Beach. This is the type of coffee house has that European feel. Beautifully arched windows line the café and with a mix of nice dark wood seats and tables. It’s a nice departure from the sea of Cookie cutter coffee houses. Sometimes you just don’t want that ultra modern, stainless cold feel. The back room has a small stage so it appears to be used for entertainment. As you know, atmosphere can change at night so I wouldn’t mind coming back to check it out. I happened to order a dirty chai with a double shot. Where ever I order this drink its usually a hit or miss so I gotta say, it was damn good here! The Barista did a great job and finished it with a very nice fleur on top. You won’t see that a Starbucks. It feels good to drink a cup of coffee that’s been prepared with care. Enjoy!

Other than suffering through a truly horribly greasy yet dry almond croissant there’s packs of Apple computer sporting hipster zombies that complement the experience. I’m really upset.

Went in for the hell of it because my friend wanted a coffee. I begrudgingly accompanied her seeking a «reasonable» line, but nooooooo! I would expect the staff to have opened up a 2nd register to eliminate the line which was now obstructing the doorway entrance… no such luck. As such, my lofty quest for a mocha was shattered and I looked at my friend with an «I told you so» face. Off we went to R.P. down the street.

Whenever I’m back home from school and I have schoolwork to do, Portfolio is my home. I like to make myself a little nest in the corner of the café with all the papers i need to write and drown myself with their excellent coffee. Honestly, this is a great place to study at. The atmosphere is really chill and casual and there’s people chattering away but it’s nice background noise as I write furiously. There’s also a lot of tables, both in the front and in the back and my personal favorite are the seats in front of the window because you get a lot of light, a nice view out into the real world where things are happier, and also outlets! The coffee here is pretty solid and not too pricey. Personally, I like their iced soy latte and their green tea latte. I haven’t had much else but so far so good. The workers are also pretty nice and I haven’t had a bad experience yet! There’s a lot of coffee shops in Long Beach now but I’d still say that Portfolio is my favorite. It’s big, perfect for studying, serves good coffee, and overall, just a really nice and pleasant place to be. Go here.

This is the type of coffeehouse I wish was closer to where I live… Cozy, plenty of seating & tables, laidback vibe perfect for studying or unwinding. I found this place on Unilocal after visiting Bluff Park. It’s on the edge of a string of cool vintage shops on 4th and I found free street parking nearby. Reminds me of the type of coffee shop you’d find in a nice college town. If you are seeking a place to do some homework or just write down some thoughts, try here. The barista was friendly and the iced blended mocha I ordered was on point.

Cool place to have coffee, or other beverages. They also have sweets and gelato, plus a few sandwiches to eat. There is indoor or side walk seating. But all the smokers use and abuse the air quality big time outside. The service is good. Most of the people are friendly. But the place is really busy everyday! So no problems with long winded conversations about life, yeah! The prices are fair. Most of the other customers are nice and friendly. More of an artist type hang out. So cool people over all.

Overview: Portfolio Coffeehouse is a large, hip, coffeehouse that sells juices, sandwiches, and desserts in a delightful part of hipster Long Beach. Prices are in line with Starbucks($ 6 for a large blended drink as of Jan 2016) but the atmosphere of the establishment, the neighborhood, and the unique people who frequent this place make the overall experience quite pleasant. The Establishment: With more than adequate seating with both tables, couches, benches, and outdoor seating, art on the walls, tall ceilings, lots of natural light, and stylish wooden accents, I applaud the owners’ taste in design. The Service: Pretty and friendly people behind the counter preparing your food and coffee quickly. No complaints. Not sure if there’s table service but I’ve always picked everything up at the counter. The People: The hipster movement is alive and kicking here with handlebar mustaches, fixie bikes, and tattoos galore. While I am one of those boring people with very little sense of style, I love the vibe Portfolio’s patrons impart on the place. The Food: While the espresso and latte’s don’t taste too different from other coffeehouses, my last blended mocha was much more malty/Ovaltine tasting(which I loved) than mochas at Starbucks or the Coffee Bean/Tea Leaf. Kudos to Portfolio for trying something new. Conclusions: Portfolio Coffeehouse is well managed, well designed, hip coffeehouse that I would recommend to anyone who wants to sit down and people-watch, write a term paper, or just hang out. Prices are too high for me to recommend it to people who want to just grab something and go(though if you do, I would recommend walking 4 – 5 blocks south to go to the beach.) I will definitely be back.

Hello Unilocalers! I’m a fan of Portfolio and so should you! The ambiance is welcoming and décor is rustic with garage sale-ish furniture. Nothing matches but everything matches, if that makes any sense: P The coffee is delicious but the nitro coffee is not. It’s strong, but very sour where it was not enjoyable to me. The affogato is delicious with your choice of any gelato flavours for the day. Warning: Gelato is very sweet. The lattes are smooth and sometimes on the right day you can get an art! The customer service is always consistent and very friendly. It’s like entering Central Perk and all your friends are waiting for you! Pros: 1) Welcoming ambiance. 2) Anything with an espresso is delicious. 3) Bike racks are plenty. 4) WIFI is available for 2−4hrs? for paying customers. 5) Plenty of seating. 6) Friendly staff and customers all day. Cons: 1) Little parking for cars. Happy Caffeine!

From out of town, trying to find a coffee shop in walking distance from where i was. Came across this on Unilocal.I got my daughter a blueberry muffin. Banana and apple juice. The muffin was ALL over the floor when she got done with it. Im so sorry!!! I actually was going to ask for a broom but then my friend was in a hurry and we had to leave :( Anyway, I got an almond pastry and a dirty iced chai. It was very good. Huge place!!! Very neat, clean and tidy. Friendly employees…
