New Miyako

1^st time coming here. The place is very clean! I only came in here because I wanted something 1) healthy 2) and PLUS they had a plug so I can charge my phone. 3) the prices are reasonable good price! I ordered the vegetable tempura very satisfying meal. The employees are very nice and friendly. I will definitely come back if I’m around the areas again :)

The lady who works here is super nice. The food is cheap and the service is fast. But I really have to wonder what I’m eating here. It’s really run-​of-​the-​mill, hardly authentic fast-​Japanese food. And if those few descriptions scare you you’ve probably eaten actual Japanese food before. It’s fast and cheap and if that’s what your looking for that’s what you’ll get.

The older lady who works up front is very friendly. I ordered the teriyaki chicken & tempura combo and found it appetizing, considering the cheap price. I liked the mix tempura, chicken and the rice. I was not a huge fan of the beansprout salad.
Food quality will not blow you away but it sure is healthier for you than McDonald’s or any other American fast food.

I tried the beef bowl (white rice) it was really really good. The place was very clean and quiet. Their customer service is good. The lady that took my order was very nice and had a smile on her face.

Have been coming back to this spot since high school & it’s always been the same– classic & timeless.
Food hits the spot everytime, prices are just right & within my budget, and I always leave full/​satisfied. I usually come here to order ramen or udon, but lately i’ve been trying my best to try everything on the menu!
Service is great & you get your food fairly quickly. I see a lot of people come in for to-​go orders & the speed at which you get your food, I figure this place is great for takeout.
The spot itself is what I consider somewhat hidden, since it’s in between other food joints & in a corner street but it’s definitely worth checking out!

This place is outstanding! The lady is super nice and the food is awesome. The pricing is just right, and you get what you pay for. I go once a week to this place and I won’t stop going. Good job guys.

Stick to the normal rice dishes and you can’t go wrong.

New Miyako is a solid place for fast Japanese food. Relative to what you are paying, the quality and quantity is satisfying. Most items are less that $ 10 each. They aren’t trying to blow you away with any of the food by doing anything out of the ordinary. Everything is pretty standard fair, but it’s filling. You have your choice of tempura, teriyaki chicken or beef bowls, and sushi (rolls and narigi).
I am a fan of the chicken bowls ($ 6). The chicken is properly seasoned and not too dry. It comes with a good amount of rice. If you are a normal person, you should be pretty full once you finished.
All the staff is very friendly, and amenable to any changes you have with your food. If you order in, they will bring out your food and take it away when you are done.
In case you are wondering, Miyako has multiple meanings depending on the Japanese characters used. Miyako may refer any of the following:
1) Specific towns in Japan such as Miyako in Fukuoka
2) A general term for «Capitol»
3) A woman’s name which multiple meanings such as «Beautiful Child» or «Beautiful Night»
It is unclear what they owners intended from the name from the signage, décor, or literature in the Restaurant. So you’ll have to find out on your own what «New Miyako» means to you.

Chicken bowl is amazing! The chicken is cooked very well and the flavor is amazing. They always follow any extra instructions I give them when ordering my food. The lady in the front is very nice and always greets me with a smile. Fried tempura is good as well. Their California roll needs a bit of work but for the price they sell it for I would get it again.

Miyako udon soup and their thai ice tea always keep me coming back.

I was only here getting my hair done in the area. And i was desperate hungry. I came here, and its what seemed doable. I came here, and i got salmon and veggies. It was actually decent. But i give 5 stars, if the food is impeccable and the ambience and décor are on point. Not entirely the case here, so, there.

Been here numerous times over the years. It is close by Lbcc. Never been disappointed with the combo plates or chicken bowls. They don’t charge for using ur debit cards or extra for sauces. I am surprised I have never written a review for this place. Prices are fair and not overpriced. Would recommend this place for a good value and good food.

Ive been coming here for as long as ive been going to lbcc and ive never been disappointed. First of all, for 5 $, they stuff the chicken bowl with tons of chicken. The teriyaki sauce sooooo good! And the bowl its self is a good size. The staff is friendly, but does get busy around 12pm with all the boeing people for lunch. All in all, i recommend coming here!!!

Food is pretty good and super cheap. Love the food but it isn’t the cleanest place. Definitely go whenever im in the area though.

Its cheap, close to LBCC, and family owned and operated. The owners are friendly, cordial and provide good service.

This place is perfect for cheap, large servings of Japanese food. Granted, the food is not super, but it is very filling. The cashier was very nice, and our orders came out quickly.
The Teriyaki Chicken Combo ($ 6.25) comes up with miso soup, veggie tempura, salad, and a ton of chicken and rice. Everything was ok, but kind of bland. That kind of summarizes my whole experience at New Miyako, actually. Really great if you’re a student or working in the area and would rather not have fast food during your lunch break. Not so good if you want to expand your palate.

The place has really good milk tea drinks! And the refill is $ 1 dollar! :) boba would make it so much better. The beef bowl was good! And the chicken bowl was better! I put soy sauce and spices in the bowl to give it more flavor! It’s a good spot if you’re a light eater and in the area of LBCC. Subway is close by so if you want more food or a bigger portion, you can go there.

I have been having health issues and recently found out that I have severe allergies to wheat and peanuts. I was happy to discover that this place has tofu, VERY GOOD tofu at that! I always get a bowl of brown rice with broccoli, carrots and tofu. It’s my favorite! It’s always hot and fresh, and the people here are so friendly.

Combination # 8 (Teriyaki Beef & Shrimp Tempura) for $ 7.85 it is well worth the price.
