Love this store and Amber was a great help! My old couches were 20-​years old. I’ve been looking for new furniture for the past 5 years, but nothing really caught my eye until I walked into Metropolitan Designs on 1^st. I love the look of mid-​century modern furniture, but I can’t afford real vintage pieces. At Metro on 1^st, they have MCM reproductions at fair prices.
I have a condo with a small living room layout, so it was important I get the right size. Although I knew I would purchase my new furniture here, I didn’t pull the trigger right away. I was very obsessed with getting the right size sectional so I measured my place and went to the store to measure the couches. Even though Amber provided the measurements to me on paper, I still wanted to measure the couches in person, so I can visualize what they would look like in my place. LOL! This went on several times for about a couple of months. I decided on something, changed my mind, then changed my mind again, until I decided on my perfect sectional. Amber exercised great patience with me and was super nice throughout my indecisiveness.
I received my sectional the other day and it’s perfect! I love it! I’d recommend this place to anyone. They have good quality furniture and good prices. Not to mention you can customize everything and the choices are just lovely.

Amber Lee who appears to be the franchise owner of this location of metropolitan design has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. She has a friendly personality and pretends like she is helpful but it’s all an act. I went into her store twice, emailed her twice like she told me to do, called her about three time, one of which she hung up into face, and had several text conversations with her all regarding one simple question about my warranty. All I needed was the number to get my sofa services/​cleaned because my sofa is still under warranty. Each time I spoke or text her she continued to say the same thing. «Oh I didn’t get your email» (Lies) or «oh let me give the manufacturers a call because they haven’t called me back» (more lies) Please if I can have just one person not got to this store I will be happy. If you need any help or you plan on purchasing from metro go to the other location (4310 Atlantic Ave, LB 90 807) We called Jeffery at (562)247−1667. What Amber Lee could not do in three weeks simply took Jeffery two mins He was very helpful.

Got to stop in here to this beautiful furniture showroom with my coworker who lives in Long Beach.
It was a rainy day and being in here brightened the day wonderfully.
Bright gorgeous furniture with great accents. I was very impressed first by the vivid, fun and exciting furniture pieces and 2^nd the friendliness of the owners. Great combination for a business.
This is a new 2^nd location as the original location is In Bixby Knolls. They offer everything here from sofas to beds to all your furniture needs.
I would absolutely trust their recommendations as they are both awesome. They offer interior design as well and you can feel their passion for what they do.
They will customize anything for you and order so you don’t have to just buy off the showroom floor… but you can!
The rugs were gorgeous too. Best furniture store in Long Beach area.
