the service was awesome! down to the door staff to the host that shoed us our table. we reserved a table and bottle i paid $ 160.00 for a bottle of patron(prettt damn cheap!) i enjoyed their music and thier waitresses were very friendly. the only down to my experience was that my wife’s friend had her purse stolen and all of a sudden no one wanted to help us! beware of thieves at this joint.

It’s about time they shut this place down. I happened to be en route to work when the cops came to serve the eviction. George’s Greek Café is set to take its place.

It’s a good thing that this place has closed down and I’m not sure if it will be re-opening as the same thing, but really, it’s a place that does not belong on Pine St. Pine Street, of course, has been struggling for years to become a nice hot spot for the crowds here in Long Beach, but ultimately it’s been trapped because it attracts some less than desirable crowds. I’m sorry to say, but many of the clubs downtown have catered far too long to the ghetto scene, thus keeping away a lot of potentially divers fans. However, that is ultimately an issue with the city planners. Moving on… I’ve been here a couple of times, and not for some years, but every time the crowd was the same, the music the same and just nothing really good about the place. I’ve never had the food, so I can’t speak for that. The men(I am about to generalize, so look away if you’re at risk of being offended) would basically drool all over you and refuse to listen if you said no you didn’t want to dance. I did have fun once I think, but still felt like I had to keep sticky fingers off of me to maintain any sense of comfort. I also had a girl try to start a fight with me here once because I apparently was standing in «her spot.» As I glanced around me, looking down at the bar top/counter I was leaning on, I was confused as to what she meant. I mean, it’s a bar, it doesn’t have designated«spots.» It wasn’t worth it to me and I walked away without wasting more time on her. The music is Latin hip hop, and cumbia’s(at least when I went) and often times they had radio stations guest DJ’ing. The crowd was NOT diverse at all. It was cool that you could easily go between here and Allegria if you paid your $ 5 to get in to one or the other. But, I’m glad it’s gone and am curious to see what comes in it’s place.

Okay seriously… this place is sooooo OVERRATED !!! This place sucks ass… Granted, I did go every weekend non-stop for about 2 – 3 years, but back then it wasnt overcrowded and stinky… one thing stays the same, Their FOOD… ITSUCKS… OVERPRICED… if you are hungry for some MEXICANFOOD… MESSAGEME!!! I will cook some bomb ass Homestyle Mexican stuff… This place does have a live band, and thats what draws more people, but it is so stuffy in there… If you want someone elses sweaty armpits and sweat drops all over you… I totally recommend this place… LOL

It was my cousin’s birtday this past Friday and we all went to Mariposa’s. I have to say, I had a blast. There was a band playing some rock en espanol, and other spanish/Mexican music. The waitresses were really friendly, and the dance floor was never empty. Mariposa’s is a little small, but the great people inside make up for the size. You got to check it out. It’s cool.
