Came here based on reviews. Wife ordered a Gyro pita sandwich. Waitress says, «we’re out of gyro meat.» Okay. Then orders a lamb gyro and I order medium-rare filet gyro. Both were terrible. Lamb was so tough and grizzly it was impossible to eat. Had to pull sandwich apart to eat because the lamb was so bad. My filet meat was super tender except it was so rare, almost black/blue instead of med-rare. I eat half and when the waitress asks if anything is wrong I say, «since you asked, the meat is almost raw.» I ask if they can replace a few pieces cooked medium-rare and when I get the new pieces they are even more rare! Sorry, I knew they were rare just by pressing on them. Any good cook could tell, or at least cut into it to check. Lentle soup and service was very good. Everything else was a fail. Had better Mediterranean at the food court at the mall.

Yea best Mediterranean food ever. They bake their own pita bread and they also have vegan options. Dennis our server was so awesome and accommodating his recommendations for appetizers and main dishes and beer were great he made our experience at this place worth the while. We’re coming back for sure !!

I’m from Los Angeles, but came out to LB w my beau to take or dogs to Rosie’s Dog Beach. After a couple hours running around and splashing in the water we were ALL hungry, thirsty and ready to relax. Enter Magic Lamp, a short 10 minute walk from the beach… Now being an Angelino, places that cater to dogs hold a special place in my heart. The fact that we were given a bowl of water for our pups and the love and attention the staff gave to them made my heart skip a beat. The staff were all so accommodating to us and our pups! The staff have such good energy and sweet spirits. And they’re funny too ;) But first, coffee. I finally got to try Turkish coffee! I’m an aficionado and was so happy to see this version of everyones favourite caffeinated beverage for me to try. We ordered the falafels to share, and they were so perfectly cooked! Crunchy outside and flavorfully moist inside. I don’t tend to eat meat, so I ordered the Arnabeet cauliflower plate and OHMYGOSHHELLOFLAVOREXPLOSION. I’m sitting here wishing I had the plate in front of me right now. It was so good! And the tahini sauce just really rounded the flavor profile out perfectly. My beau got the gyro plate which I assume was just as phenomenal as he demolished all of it! We gave our pups little bits here and there but the food was just so delicious we couldn’t share anymore more! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Lebanese food, great customer service and a dog friendly atmosphere.

I came here with a few of my co-workers for a bite to eat before an event. We ordered a few appetizers & a bottle of wine, and everything was really good. From the cucumbers to the hummus, to the pita bread to the bottle of wine. I always get the chicken kabobs wherever I go, so of course that’s what I ordered. Delicious! The chicken was really well grilled, and the hummus paired really well with the rice. They would’ve gotten five stars if the waiter didn’t steal my hummus reserve and fork. :) Will definitely be returning again soon. Seriously addicting!

Pretty long wait if you’re with a group of more than 2 people. Apparently this is more of a date place, but I’m not surprised because the place is very intimate and dimly lit. Service was pretty quick and the waiters are extremely nice and friendly. They give a basket of very fluffy pita bread, which of course is really good with the hummus that can come with the entrees. Entrees come with rice, choice of side spread(i got hummus), and salad. I got the spicy kafta which wasn’t very spicy in my opinion. All of the entrée portions are huge and extremely flavorful. With the decorations and set up of the restaurant, everything felt authentic. 10⁄10 I would recommend checking out.

Quality of food isn’t fresh – appetizers tasted premade! Good service but they are very cheap with the portions! Shawarma chicken was purely dark meat and undercooked! Filet cubes was not filet, don’t be fooled, I know my steak… great menu and great idea and theme, but zero execution on the food.

it was ok. The service was ok and the food was ok. Nothing Great about either. My dates fish was so stinky. He didn’t eat it but he didn’t send it back. I was terrified he was going to be ill. The smell alone should have kept it off any guests plate. I wont be back because the cook or server MUST have smelled this fish. I smelled it as soon as the plate was sat down. I wont return because the empoyees dont care about serving spoiled food

Some good-ass Persian food. The lamb is amazing. Good for kids(they even have fries and cheese pizza — basically my four-year-old’s daily diet). They have pretty booths with cushions inside where you can sit with a friend, partner, or relative for a feeling of clandestine mischief(having children with me, this is not where I sat). Love this place!

My family and friends have been going to Magic lamp for over a decade … Always good good foood & good service . Tonight we did take out, and I paid cash(100 $ bill)… Well it took the young lady 10 minutes to get our change … ??! She walked to the front, then came back to bck register … No change OH, she said the manager had to get my change hmmm okay(go figure) …I’m sure as most business do, ck 100 $ dollar bill make sure the bill is not counterfeit. I understand. But to make a customer(did I say a loyal customer) wait 10 min, WOW My husband was livid … I may go back, no time soon though

The food is less disgusting than the attitude of the owners. My advice is to steer clear of this place. There are many other Mediterranean Grills in the area that do not leave its patrons so violently ill after a visit. I am not alone in my disgust. According to other Unilocal reviewers, they sent one child to the hospital, allowed a man to beat a woman during dinner, harassed a homeless woman, and have already been reported to the Health Department.

Cute little place on the 2nd, small restaurant with comfy seatings, the long couch seating was perfect for us, intimate and cozy on a cold early evening. Lebanese food is Middle Eastern food right? But the food tasted different from the Middle Eastern /Mediterranean restaurants we have been too. So I did a little research, Lebanese food uses lots of lemon juices, they eat poultry more than red meat. Oh oh, that must be the reason hubby and I didn’t like the food too much, everything was extremely SOUR! I loved it they have so many vegetarian /vegan choices on the menu, ordered a Stella to sip on, spicy chicken soup, garlic fries and spicy potatoes to munch on while studying the big menu. The soup was alright, a bit bland, garlic fries were very good, spicy potatoes were disaster, SO sour, I have never tasted anything THAT sour in my entire life! Hubby couldn’t even chew on them! For entrees, I had grilled trout with lemon capers, spicy hummus, rice and Tabouli salad. Fish was fresh and tender, it wasn’t sour, phew… Hummus wasn’t flavorful, Tabouli salad was extremely sour too. I love parsley, mint and tomato salad that’s why I picked this one, but it was also hard to swallow because of the sourness. Hubby had filet with Tabouli, rice and hummus, filet was too cooked, so hard and chewy, he didn’t like it one bit. I guess poultry is more of their specialties, maybe lamb but not beef. Hubby didn’t touch that super sour Tabouli salad of course. The complimentary flat bread was pretty delicious though, but the hummus was not that good. Everything was either bit bland or extremely sour, completely off balanced flavors, we just couldn’t stomach it. I guess Lebanese food is just not our thing. The service was very friendly and attentive though, and I really liked this romantic little restaurant, if we ever come back, we will have to decide what to order very carefully or ask them not to use lemon juice! Or come back for Hookah nights, that ought to be fun! Ps. Plenty of street parking or lots nearby.

Took my GF here for a date on a Saturday night. Walking up to the restaurant we were greeted immediately and taken to our table. The restaurant is small, like all others on 2nd street so the noise level is a little high. The décor however is very unique and interesting. Our waiter was really nice and quickly came over introduced himself and took our drink orders. Upon ordering our food they had a lot that looked really good. We ended up ordering — Dolmas — Chicken Shawarma — Spicy Kafta Panino The Dolmas were delicious I just wish they included more per order! The chicken shawarma was pretty good, the chicken was a bit dry but the sauce it is served with helped it out a lot and tasted great. My GF had the Panino and stated it was really good as well. Overall the service was good, reasonable price for the amount of food you get too I would return

Very well made, excellent flavor and really fresh! Had the Raheb app, and the Pesto Pizza. Everything was so good. My mint lemonade also tasted great I think they added lavender or something… :) We love coming to this place for Lunch and Dinner!

Ended up picking this place after walking up and down 2nd Street. I had the lamb chops, which were very tasty. All the sides were pretty good if I recall correctly. Friendly service. The A/C was broken that day, so they were very apologetic, but all and all, a good meal.
