LBS Financial Credit Union

I am a new member, for almost 1 year now. Since day one, LBSFCU by far had exceeded my expectations of customer service, friendliness, courteous, polite, etc staff of employees you can expect from a bank/​loan company. I also love there security guard who knows all of, his regular members, always greets us, does his job right and protects us, kudos to you! I was referred by my Honda salesman who has sold me many vehicles, asked me to apply here for a low interest rate on my cars. I had Wells Fargo for over a decade, this bank by far has excelled to me over all in everything! Got rid of banking with Wells, I should have left a long time ago. To all you thinking of signing up, there’s nothing to think about, just do it. Wells had been ripping me off for so many years, they had my car interest at 15%, LBSFCU got me at a 2%, what a difference. A+, 2 THUMBS up I couldn’t be happier :)

Been a member for 13 years so far and it’s great. They have great rates for auto loans, representatives are always nice and helpful. Even sent me a new card on their own when the target & home Depot hacking happened. This place makes me so happy that I don’t have to put up with Chase or B of A

It’s been nearly 6 months since I last tried to use the ATM here, and even though David S. from LBSFCU said that my review would be sent off and the problem would not happen again… I STILL CANNOT DEPOSIT MY PAYCHECK IN TO THE ATM. Oh, it gets better though. My wife tried to deposit cash in to the ATM –and it wouldn’t take it. CASH.
So the Automated Teller Machine will not allow deposits of cash or checks.
My options are to leave work and lose time off my paycheck to go in to the branch, or to use the app and wait up to a week for funds to be available.
Seriously, bring back the envelopes! At least then the machines were useful.

I’ve had LBSFCU for most of my life and have never had an issue with it. So I was saddened/​disappointed by my recent experience.
Sunday, my card got stuck in the ATM machine. I understand, machines fail all the time, the world is an imperfect place. So, I called and had them put a hold on my account. I was told yesterday that I could go pick up my card from the location. I also understand the idea of bank hours and all, but it seems inconvenient (for those that start working at or before 9) to have your branch hours start at 9:30.
My mother’s name is also on my account, so I asked if she could pick up my card. She couldn’t since it was in my name. Fair enough. They offered to mail it to me and I asked if there was any way to expedite the mail because it’s my debit card, I need it to buy things (and I can’t get money from an ATM without it, of course). They wouldn’t.
This is a case where I feel their customer service could have gone a little beyond the call of duty to help a customer. None of this was my fault and I’m the one being inconvenienced. Of course, I can’t demand compensation because it’s a bank, so I’m left to pretty much take it.
My overall experience has still been pretty positive, but this issue will remain in the back of my mind for a long time.

Lbs… archaic, what era are you in, can you get to the 21^st century bank! I’ve never had much success with them making a payment on my motorcycle loan. Having said that I’m always late, but hey they make the extra money on the late fee and a 7.00 processing fee for over the phone bill pay. So I recently downloaded their app, woohoo they have an app. It’s ok, nothing to get excited about. Cause I can’t use it! No tab to put in my payment info. They tell me to go to the web site, I did that, and I click bill payment, it shows me my loan. And I can’t put in my info to make the payment! I call the gal said I have to wait for the page to update. 5k and I’m done with them. Worst technological company I have ever dealt with. But they are the nicest people on the phone. I would be too with their salaries. Pffft
This is an update. Just found out I can electronically make the payment over the phone. Still costs me 7.00 extra dollars. Western union. So two stars!

My mother still goes here. I requested a history of her bank statements because she accidentally shredded her past statements. They charge $ 2 per page! If I got an online account for here it would be free of charge and we can print whatever we want. I requested for just the deposits for the past 3 months and the teller stated they could only go back 9 days. I’m sorry but my mother is not computer savvy. Also, I wouldn’t want to get an online account for her because she was a victim of identity theft. I remember a long time ago, we’re talking about 10 years or so that I requested for my statements printed (8+ pgs) and they were done free of charge.

This review is for John at the Spring St. office. His professionalism in opening my IRA was fast, accurate and courteous. Thank you in making sure the transaction was recorded correctly, so that there would be no taxes due. This office is LBS Financial Credit Union’s shining star.

The most professional and kindest group of people one could ever hope to meet. I am greeted by name, with smiles and a handshake every time I go in. Nothing is too much trouble and everything I am fuzzy about (I’m just an English teacher) is cleared up and explained fully. Would that everywhere I go could be so nice. Trust me. THE BEST.

Purchased a brand new car through this branch and it was a flawless process. Nile was awesome to deal with help and Denise found me the exact car I was looking for at a cheaper price any local dealer was willing to give me. I definitely recommend this credit union to anyone!

It is a bank… not much to review here lol. They do ok at bank type activities… no bad issues so far.

Thank you John for making my car buying experience and comfortable and easy process. I came in with a few questions you answered all necessary questions and then connected me AutoNation Direct which proceeded me to find met exact car and a amazing price. You got everything figured out and when I arrived at the bank today tall the paperwork was ready for me and my car was there waiting for me. The worst service ever! I’ve never been so disrespected buy a bank on numerous visits. They still cant explain why I need to go thru 3 steps to cash a check. Verification, phone calls and all. They just lost the refinance on our home. Changing banks asap!

After being tired of the big banks who do not care about me as a customer, I switched to the lbsfcu. Great service and go above and beyond to help their clientele. Keeping my money and investing in the local economy. Glad I did and am looking forward to a good banking relationship. Dump your bank and stay locally with your credit union.

I’ve been a happy customer here since the mid-1990’s. The LBS Financial Credit Union rules compared to the others credit unions because they do not have fees and provide more services. At least my account has no fees and I have never paid a fee for anything ever.
I have checking, savings and a Visa credit with them. All 3 of my accounts are linked and my online transfers take effect immediately. Their online banking and bill paying is better than the other banks I’ve tried. My husband’s new LBS account is also tied to mine so online we can manage everything together and be linked. With regret, I’ve also had accounts with Wells Fargo, Bank of America and the Mattel Credit Union. Luckily, I got my husband to close our non-​LBSFCU accounts and we have moved everything to LBS. Hooray!
Lot’s of credit unions don’t offer homes loans. LBS does. An old friend of mine loves their used car buying/​loan service. She basically gave them a dream list and they found her the perfect ride. I don’t know what kind of magic they worked for her because that girl was so broke and had so many loans… but she had a long standing stable job with the school district and got herself a nice ride with LBS.
A few years ago I was in Greece on vacation. My Greek friends told me my ATM card wouldn’t work in Greece but it did with no extra fees, mistakes or problems. They said B of A and Wells Fargo were nightmarish when traveling internationally.
A long time ago, during El Nino rains I was in Belmont Shores at B of A making a withdrawal from my LBS account. The power went out mid ATM transaction and my account reflected the withdrawal when in fact I never got the cash. They worked with B of A to remedy my balance very quickly and they were super nice to me. They never treated me like I did something wrong which was what B of A did immediately to me after the outage.
They have a number to find local ATMs and website for finding affiliates. I was on a cross country road trip and had no problem finding free ATMs either. They work with a huge national network of credit unions.
Their telephone customer service hours are shorter than most place but it’s never caused me a problem. When I need them they are consistently terrific. I think they enjoy their work because they deal with happy customers. It’s been over 15 years since I’ve walked into an LBS branch. I do everything with them over the phone or online. I’ll always be a customer of LBS because they are the one an only bank for me.

Los Altos Branch wasn’t listed on Unilocal?How can this be? It is actually the one whispered about in lines at other LBS locations. The rumor is that they are polite, and speedy quick.
Well they are, except when a tweeker chick is at a counter having a meltdown because she let her account zero out for quite some time and must have the five dollars she is sure is still in savings. As she’s told that she has to come back with proper ID and it will take 24 hours to fix the situation. Yep, there was some shouting and she was pissed about her five dollars. So pissed that she told three other people — who had overheard the whole situation.
I really have to hand it to the staff at LBS. They were calm, repeatedly told her what 2 steps she needed to do to fix the situation, and no one rolled their eyes, and the security guard in the lobby was not called over. They are a local institution and they know life isn’t easy and people have all types of tempers.
I guess its nice to be a local in Long Beach doing the things locals do and supporting the businesses and credit unions that act like they are local too.
