Been going to the SuperMex off First and Alamitos for over 20 years but this Jr. Mex is right down the street from the Pad so I come here when I need a quick fix. I LOVE their #30 whith the shredded beef tacos, something about the flavor and texture of the meat that when I crave it, nothing can take its place. The rice is consistently good, the berms are ok, nothing to brag about but like I said earlier, the seasoning and tenderness of the beef makes everything else worth it. Occasionally I’ll get the taco salad which they use the same shredded beef in, ohhhhh sooooo GOOD!!!

Junior max is practically the same as super Mex just smaller. The food is about the same prices are about the same. The presentation of the food is great. The salsa is really really good. Can’t really complain about anything the staff was very courteous smiling very welcoming and helpful. The meat and shrimp are fresh. Rice and beans are great I had a carne asada burrito and my wife had a shrimp. Not a bad wait time. I work down the street and walk there and it was worth the walk. Come hungry leave happy.

Great Mexican food at a decent price. Salsa is incredible! If you like it hot, ask for green sauce instead of red. They are family owned and the employees are great.

i would like to give it 0 stars my reasons: 1. horrible service(cashiers are awful! even their faces! and they have no manners what so ever!) 2. super high in sodium !!(which gives it an awful taste!) 3. too pricey(like come on its rice and beans! i ordered a asada burrito and had a hard time finding the meat) 4. just a horrible experience and parking is horrendous

They have very good restaurant quality food there at reasonable prices. Take out mostly but fast service.

Tl;dr The food is okay, but definitely not worth the price. About 90% of the cashiers are rude, makes it less appealing to go back.

This place doesn’t live up to the Supermex name. The food seems more bland and the portions seem smaller. Really disappointed with all the plastic they use. It’s worth a bit more drive to go to a regular Supermex or even the take out shops next door to Supermex for to-go orders. Pretty disappointing.

Great old fashioned Mexican food served fresh and quick-and at a good price. Place was clean, service was very nice. We both had a Taco/Enchilada/Chile Relleno combo and everything was great-in fact it was one of the best Chile Relleno I have ever had!

Ordered the chile relleno burrito tonight. It’s about a third of the size of a regular bean and cheese burrito and 1.5 times the price. Super disappointing. What a ripoff!

While I think the food is pretty good, the prices are a travesty. I ordered 3 shredded beef tacos a la carte plus a drink. Almost $ 12 later and I get three tortilla’s filled with a sliver of meat and barely any toppings. Taco Bell offers much more food than that and at a greater value. I’m done with this place.

This is probably one of the best supermex cuz i know the people working here and they try to make it fresh if you go to other supermex you would get food from days before :)

Giving 5 stars for the simple fact that there food is amazing. So simple, yet so flavorful. Both green and red salsas are good. The chips too! This isn’t a location to eat at, but it’s obvious when you arrive that it’s not that type of place. Togo only, I call ahead and then pick up. Only thing that sometimes is questionable is the person taking the order. The guy who answers seems to have it down, but sometimes it has happened where it seems like new girls or something and they were having a difficult time taking the order. Besides that this place is great!

Still hungry. Taco Tuesday, small tacos and the wet burrito was $ 10 and it was kinda small. Just saying I ve had better.

Ugh, the only thing this place has going for it is convenience. It is next to a bunch of car dealerships so if you’re waiting for a car it’s quick and easy to grab a bite. The food is edible… Barely. Tortillas are dry and don’t seem fresh. The chicken and carne asana were tough and dry as well. The only thing that gives their food flavor is their salsas which are spicy. I think since they focus on take out, they premake stuff and just leave it for fast service, which is why everything tastes old. If you’re looking for good Mexican food, AVOID. If you need a quick bite and are nearby, this will suffice.

I don’t try to come here very often because for some reason, it just isn’t as good as the Super Mex. Maybe it’s the take-out factor but they’re definitely lacking in flavor in comparison, and as a matter of fact, overall. Maybe it’s just me but for some reason they also seem to be more expensive. I think they should be cheaper, they don’t have as much overhead, less employees to pay, and they give you smaller portions! On the rare occasion you’ll get someone friendly working here, on the majority of my visits the cashiers are just not social. Not too smart if you’re trying to earn a tip IMO. Catch me here when I’m burned out on all the other local take-out Mexican restaurants.

What, you ask, could jump a 4-Star up to a 5-Star for a «comida rapido» take-out? Well, I’ll tell you. I arrived at the lunch hour, one person ahead of me to order, most seats taken. «Number 7, two shredded beef tacos, rice & beans?» I’m asked. «No, one beef, one chicken,» I reply. «Oh, that’s right. You know where the salsa’s at.» I got my salsa and had just taken a seat to wait for the order when the counter girl calls me up with my order ready. «What? My order’s done so soon?» I ask. «The chef saw you drive up and prepared it.» Now, I’m not what I’d consider a «regular» but get here maybe once or twice every couple of weeks and though I’m tempted to stump the chef next time with a different order, I am pleased to know that someone in the food chain appreciates my valuable time. Que bueno.
