I came here a few weeks ago to pee and buy some veggies and stuff for barbecuing. The bathroom was clean. So, plus one star for that. The vegetables were on the pricey side, but not completely terrible. The Cholula hotsauce was nearly $ 6… For the regular-sized bottle… The cashier was a really rude Middle-aged lady. I’d have gone to Vitamin City a few shops down instead, but it was closed. Great place for produce, juice, and snacks… Including lots of vegan and gluten-free treats. For regular groceries, I’d suggest going across Palo Verde Ave to Stater Brothers.

I don’t see how Haggen can be saved. Once you price yourself out of the market, people will not return. Haggen blamed it’s mistakes on it’s pricing? If I would have been running the chain, I would have worked 24 hours a day until the pricing was corrected. To be honest, this would have NEVER happened on my watch. Walmart, Von’s, Albertson’s and Smith’s are always checking the competition’s prices. These chain’s are adjusting prices every hour, of everyday. It’s called competition. As for Haggen, they assumed the consumer would not notice. Maybe Haggen can promote the stores as Ghost Towns?. In the end, the store associates are the victims in this Haggen mess.

I have never shopped here but the Chinese fast-food counter is bomb! I thought it was still Lucky’s. The lady is really nice too and hooks up the rice-noodles pretty fat. Generous portions of orange chicken and its always fresh. you get a lot for like $ 7.00

Guess I’m not the only one that thinks the same way about this market. Overpriced! Only one checker(probably because there’s not much customers). Items on sale seem to be regular priced at other stores around the area. Will stick to my combination of Stater Bros, Ralphs, and Pavillions.

Was so excited for this store to open but have been repeatedly disappointed. For one they are on the expensive side, the produce is always very ripe and only last a day or so, selection is limited on different items and the worst experience was when we bought chicken breast and they smelled like rotten trash. Needless to say we have not shopped there since. We will stick with Ralph’s.

Pros: Specials have good pricing Cons: Everything not on special is expensive; low selection variety; nothing special to compensate for higher prices Decided to try Haggen when I was looking for a salad kit and some miscellaneous items. I thought maybe Haggen would fit the bill since they advertise fresh, local items but they also carry items that are found in more conventional grocery stores. So maybe I could get by visiting only one store rather than Sprouts and another. I did find some eggs that were at a competitive price, but I quickly abandoned getting the rest of my grocery list due to the high prices. They offer the same groceries as say Stater Brothers across the street, just higher prices. As the selection wasn’t even more(like Vons), I will not be returning. One or two specials at good prices are not enough to compensate for the rest of the basket at high prices.

I like the people who work there. It originally was a Albertsons, in which I do see a major difference in the quality of the items, same stuff … But it isn’t Albertsons. It seem wider and more expensive to me.

It’s like shopping at Ralph’s without a club card! Then as I was leaving, a little boy was pointing out a cockroach on the floor of the produce department… Good luck Haggen, I won’t be returning

I am not loving Haggen. I am actually concerned they will not be carrying a lot of the brands I usually buy which will mean I need to shop at another store. I am going to give it more time to make the total transition and then write another review. Same employees which is good. Nice people work here.

I really like Haggen! It seems like most of the people who say they dislike it just want an Albertson’s back. I’m new to the area and was never an Albertson’s shopper, so I don’t really care about what this was before. What it is now is great. I love their deli section. They have gorgeous produce. Sure, its maybe a little more expensive than some of the mid-range grocery stores in the area, but its not breaking my bank. If you want deep price cuts, there are plenty of options in the area. If you want great prepared food, gorgeous seafood, bountiful organic produce, and easy parking, Haggen is your spot.

We walked in last week, didn’t realize that the store had changed from Albertson’s to Haggens. She picked up a bag of cherries which were $ 3.99 a pound(we later got them at Ralph’s in Lakewood from $ 1.48 a pound on sale). It gradually dawned on me that the store had been changed. I saw the Haggen’s logos, and saw that the prices were pretty high just for the house brands. What little they discount seems to be ‘marked up to mark down’. In other words not really discounted. Albertson’s, while it wasn’t cheap, had a nice atmosphere, which has been obliterated in the transition. What you are left with is a bland, indifferent store with overpriced house brands and no real reason to shop there. It’s a shame this store was lost, because we shop Vitamin City a few steps away, and we would normally go to Albertson’s afterwards.

What happened to my Albertsons? This place is such a joke. I didnt like the one in Palos Verde and I SURE dont like it here. If I want high priced tree hugger food I could go to Lazy Acres.

Very rude employees, and that includes the store manager who was on duty. Apparently they have not discovered the fact that consumers can spend their money anywhere, and I, for one, will be spending mine where the store has better goods, lower prices, and helpful, friendly employees. THISSTOREANDIT’S EMPLOYEES S T I N K !

Haggan is a new grocer for CA., so if you are expecting something new, they have new signing ooutside and new pricing inside, otherwise it is Albertsons with higher prices. Their«SALE» pricing is higher than other stores regular pricing(ie: Digorno pizza — reg $ 6.99, sale $ 4.99 as opposed to Stater Bros $ 5.49 and $ 3.99 respectively). We stopped in because it was new, but we won’t be back until it is someone else!
