My wife and daughter love this place. The coffee is excellent. On this visit, my wife had the salmon & capers sandwich with red onions for $ 7.45. She could only eat half of it and took the other half home with her. It is one of her favorites. I had the very berry muffin for $ 2.05 and the cheese croissant for $ 2.05 with my French roast coffee. The muffin was very good. The cheese croissant was just OK. You can get one refill on your coffee, which is nice. Very good service. Plenty of parking.

Nice bakery with cool price. Reg coffee is so so but Americano is pretty good. Bagels are fresh and wonderful if you dont mind lightly sugar glazed buns. Roast beef sandwich with croissant is great but i will replace the beef with ham.

They used to be much better for lunch, more like a real deli with a large sandwich menu featuring NY style deli sandwiches. Now it’s like the average donut or bagel shop that makes some plain sandwiches. Bread is good, bagels are nice but it’s no longer anything special.

I got the blueberry bagel for a quick breakfast. It was definitely a unique tasting one compared to typical blueberry bagels but it was really good. Seems like a good, cozy place to just chill and catch up with a friend. I think there was a minimum card purchase of $ 5 or so. Service as decent. Pretty large café.

Enjoyed the sandwich although I found the sourdough tasted a bit stale. Almost like someone had put it in the toaster for a minute then changed their mind. The tuna salad filling was okay. Normally they hit it out of the park with their sandwiches. Maybe just a bad day…

Meh. If you’re looking for good coffee, look elsewhere… Neither the cashier nor the«barista» knew anything about coffee, and it showed. Coffee was poorly made and tasted burnt.

Although I have heard good things about this place from my coworkers, despite their Cumbersome Menu which tends to take a while to figure out what you actually want(it was my first time ordering from their Menu. total confusion but ok, what the hell) I called in to place an order as their delivery time is a bit random, cutoff time is 3:00pm for some reason, and while placing the order mistakenly told them someone would pick it up. Upon realizing the mistake i made, i called back 5 minutes to change to delivery. this is where it gets interesting. The gentleman who i spoke with earlier was rather adamant that i said pick up and their driver was gone for the day & «i should pick it up because that’s what i said»…ok wow. I explained that it was actually 10⁄11 minutes before the cutt off time and he reiterated that the driver was done for the day and that i «would have to pick it up». I found his attitude to be a bit condescending despite explaining that it was miscommunication on my part, apologizing for the confusion and since they assumed i had a car(which i dont nor did they ask). The day went by & no one was able to get 3 sandwiches so while at work I get a call from their Manager, a lady who also came off rude & bullish stated that they lost money from this sale & «i was specifically told» … you can guess where she was going with this disrespectful attitude and condescending behavior. So I basically got a call from the manager saying we owed her money, it wasn’t her fault & what was i going to do?.. Yes that is right . I told her that were busy and we cant come & dont know what she wants me to do but have a nice day. Well today i ordered from there again & the first thing she brings up to another employee is the same issue and said she ‘was going to start charging us before we picked up our meals.‘ I work at a very reputable Business that has spent Thousands of Dollars over time supporting this establishment. I believe her actions were uncalled for and the fact that we Ordered 2 Lunch Boxes today & my order was incomplete just proved that she is out to get us back by skimming on our orders! This is completely unacceptable. Telling people i work with biased information is both unprofessional & unacceptable. I’m not sure who hired this person but i guarantee i will be letting my job, my clients &EVERYONE else know about her actions & attitude. Working in Customer Service, things can happen but taking it personal over 3 sandwiches & tarnishing my image at work just goes to show that maybe she shouldn’t be doing her job ift his is how she deals with people. Very nice place to come to for a quick breakfast or maybe to meet up with a friend for lunch. They have a self serve coffee station that I was a bit surprised with but the coffee quality was actually very good. The coffee is what it’s all about after all. Right? Sometimes you just need it! They also have all the great espresso machines as well for any espresso infused drink you happen to be craving. The cool thing about this place is that it’s also a bakery as the name implies. I must have passed this place a million times but finally decided to go in. Now I have another nice place to stop in for a macchiato when I need a pick me up!

This was a convenient spot to meet a friend one weekday morning; it has plenty of indoor seating so we were able to sit for awhile and shoot the breeze. I looked over the pastries behind the glass. The almond croissant caught my eye but I ended up choosing a chocolate chip muffin. I also ordered a latte which was brought to our table a few minutes later. The latte was standard. The muffin was the size you’d make at home rather than the gigantic sized muffins you often find at coffee joints. The top of the muffin was very dry but oddly the lower part was moist. It had plenty of little chocolate chips throughout. I don’t know why they put powdered sugar on top but that stuff sprinkled all over the place; by the time I finished eating, the table looked like a two year old had been there. Plus I had powder-white lips. Service was good. The man who helped me was very friendly but there was a woman at the second register who seemed stressed and afraid her face would crack if she smiled.

Our favorite breakfast place to go to on the weekends. They recently changed their menu, but the quality and taste are still the same: delicious and comforting. I always get the lox on an onion bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes, red onion and cucumber. My husband gets the pastrami on sourdough with Dijon mustard and we always split. We have also had the turkey sandwich with sprouts and the ham and cheese croissant sandwich. I have not tried any of their baked goods(cupcakes, cookies, muffins, pastries, etc.) but there is always a fresh variety displayed. The service is always good and the staff are very accommodating and attentive. Recommendation: pastrami sandwich

They changed their menu here… now it’s confusing and time consuming. You used to be able to make a custom sandwich or order a «Cuban» or «turkey cranberry» that was a predetermined sandwich. Now they do everything as a custom so the cashier has to ring it all in. So example, my wife ordered the turkey cranberry and they didn’t put the cranberries on it because the cashier didn’t ring it in right. The food is fine but this new ordering system is dumb. The menu is hard to read and it makes things way more complicated than it should be. Every time I come here there is someone staring at the board trying to figure out the da vinci code to order the sandwich they want and how much it will cost. If I wanted to choose every single item on my sandwich I can do that at subway. I come to places like this because they«have the best cuban» or «try the hot pastrami at grounds». What am I supposed to do now? Tell my friends to go to Grounds and order a panini with pastrami on rye with pickles and yellow mustard? No thanks. Instead I’ll tell them to go to ToGos lol.

What I ordered: Breakfast sandwich #13 turkey sausage patty w/omelet, cheddar cheese on an onion bagel. It was really good. The sausage patty has onions, spinach, and is seasoned. I could tell the patty is made there fresh and isn’t some frozen turkey patty. I read in a review that the bagels here are more of a bread consistency rather than a «bagel» consistency and I’ll have to agree with them on that because the onion bagel was super soft. But I personally liked the bagel. Fudge mocha freeze It was average. Could’ve had more chocolate flavor in it but still good.

I had the pastrami sandwich on seedless rye and it was really good! smallish portions for a deli, but, IMHO perfect for lunch because who wants to take home half a sandwich? Wife had tuna salad sandwich and she loved it! Everything seems priced well, especially the loaves of bread, so affordable as well. Not the best deli I’ve ever visited, but, very good all the way around!

It took me awhile to try this place because I thought they only served coffee and I am not a coffee drinker… They also serve smoothies that are delicious. In addition, the have an assortment of bakery items and they are all so good. I love their frosted brownies, bagels, and challah bread. Their sandwiches are also very good. It’s a great place to stop by for lunch or a snack.

It’s a bakery, and a café. I only stopped by for a cookie so I cannot comment on the regular food. I can say that expected this place to have a larger selection of baked good. It’s a clean location with plenty of parking. He service was fast. Overall I had a good experience.

Grounds has been one of my all time favorite spots for a quickie breakfast sandwich, bagels, and quick lunch. They serve great coffee and hearty tasty fresh baked muffins and croissants. An added treat to my deli sandwich is adding lemon pepper to it. It adds a tang and bit of spice. The café is clean and family friendly. Plenty of parking in the front lot. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Omelets here are actually pre-cooked egg patties! Barf! They heat them up and put the toppings on similar to how Subway sandwiches are assembled. Really? Not ok! Salads: are basic iceberg lettuce with exactly what is listed on on the menu. No frills. The dressings are prepackaged fast food type dressings. For a place that makes home baked breads, their other offerings are far from fresh or homemade. Such a disappointment The people that wait in lines are carb lovers for sure. Low carb/health minded folks go someplace else.

My boyfriend and I needed breakfast and after searching, he though this seemed like the place to go. Unfortunately, we weren’t that impressed. The prices, a little on the pricey side, and we’re from new york. I had a couple of questions about the menu, which the girl behind the counter seemed unwilling to answer, or knowledgeable about. Okay… Although I warned him, my boyfriend had a bagel… let’s just say he didn’t eat a bagel the entire time we were there. I had an omelet sandwich… or rather, that’s what I ordered. Maybe it’s just east coast vs. west coast, but my idea of an omelet sandwich is, an omelet that just happens to be between two slices of bread… not the case there. It was a scrambled egg between two pieces of bread was added toppings in the bread. My cheese wasn’t even cooked into the omelet, it was just laying on the bread. Disappointing. I didn’t even eat half my sandwich. Maybe the baked goods are worth it?

Disclaimer: This review is solely based on a single order. A single order that was repeated a total of three times. All take out. My husband found this place was not far from where we were staying in Long Beach on our last trip to the West Coast. Based on a few reviews it sounded like it would fit the bill for breakfast. For each visit, I ordered the #9 Bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese & capers. For my bagel I went with the garlic cheddar and for my cream cheese I decided on the cucumber dill. After the first visit I was hooked. While my husband changed his order up with each visit, I just couldn’t resist the deliciousness that is a #9 breakfast sandwich. There was plenty of lox, just the right amount of briny capers, and a healthy schmear of cream cheese. The bagel was crunchewy. Soft but well toasted. A glorious exercise in gluten tolerance. I can understand how they won ‘Best Bagel’ FIVE years in a row. Grounds is definitely a neighborhood favorite and we will probably find ourselves here again on future visits.
