If you want an easy place to meet friendly people I recommend Pig Beach.
It is at the end of Pomona street. Go towards the peninsula you will see the colorful courts.

Looking to start the new year with some exercise but without the crowded gym? Play volleyball! There are twelve courts here, first come, first served. They can get busy in the summer and during the weekend, so come early.
These beach volleyball courts are right next to Rosie’s dog beach, so you can play while checking out the cute pooches!
Located next to the Belmont pool and alongside the walking/​jogging/​bike path.
Parking is available in the metered lot, or you can try your luck with free street parking.
