5÷30÷2014SHADY, non-customer oriented establishment with so-so food. I bought a gift cert over a year ago(they never expire). I called GTCP just to confirm they’d honor it, that I couldn’t print it out but it shows on my smartphone-this has been fine at other restaurants, I was just checking. The girl checked with someone and told me that was fine. We ate our average-food dinner-prime rib in an almost empty restaurant. Prices are HIGH, probably as it is inside a hotel near an airport were business people would stay. Anyway, food is average, service was very slow considering we were one of 2 tables and we ordered the evening’s special. Server was nice. When we went to pay our bill, manager refused to accept our certificate. We explained we’d called ahead, showed him the certificate on my phone that they verify right from the phone, but he kept insisting he needed a PRINTED copy. We even had a printed LIST of my current certificates that showed the redemption code and offered him that. He told us to just get a refund from . Why didn’t the tell us when we called or before we ordered that they wouldn’t accept it? Food wasn’t very good. Prime Rib was not very flavorful and asparagus seemed torched, not well roasted. House dessert, tiramisu, was a small serving but yummy. We feel others should be spared their poor customer service. I certainly won’t recommend the hotel or restaurant to family or business associates that come to town and need a place to stay.

We bought a Groupon good for two Sunday brunches with unlimited champagne. We got there right when it opened and we waited in line about ten minutes before they even started letting people in. We went up to the hostess and she informed us they were only letting people with reservations in first and she asked us to stand to the side behind another couple. Instead of making an announcement telling everyone without a reservation to stand to the side, she proceeded to tell each group that walked up they needed a reservation. This was making the process much longer so my husband made an announcement telling everyone who didn’t have a reservation to stand behind us. The whole process was very disorganized. Once we got seated, the view was great and our server was very attentive. The food was just average.

Groupon deal, Mimosas, fast seating right before 11. Not enough umbrellas to block the sun on the patio for all tables, we were lucky, but others weren’t. Great view of the trees and waterfall. Background waterfall noise. Hard to get attention for a Mimosa refill. Food just ok.

Review is for Sunday brunch. I give this place 2 star, one for unlimited champagne/mimosa and one for their outdoor seating. The view of the pool and waterfall was nice but the staffs were not attentive. I had to flag them down a few times to have my glass filled. The food was terrible and forgettable which was disappointing.

I really wanted to like this place but they made it super hard to do… Hostess was not friendly. Not mean but not personable. She’s the first person you meet when you go to a restaurant and she should go above and beyond being kind. We had a reservation, and thank goodness we did because the line was almost out the door. It went through the whole lobby. The people in line looked really irritated. We walked up to the reservation line and were seated within 1 minute. That was the highlight of our meal… Our server was nice and great when he was attentive but he spent most of his time talking to one table. I had to flag him down a little bit but nonetheless he was very friendly. The food is not good. They do not refill the stuff enough. The taco lady is the opposite of personable. She did not even lift her head to take taco orders. Bacon was super greasy. Chocolate fondue is sitting in a large pot and just sits and gets gloppy. The food would arrive«fresh» but would be completely cold. Are they just holding it in the back and letting it sit? It makes no sense to me. Worst of all, my BF and I both woke up in the middle of the night with the worst stomach pains. Never a good sign… We would not come back and would not recommend it.

We went for Sunday Brunch and the food was just average. For the price, we were expecting a much lusher selection and variety of choices. I guess we are spoiled by the buffets in Las Vegas. Service was great and the staff couldn’t have been more accomodating.

Came here with the 2 for 25 bottomless mimosa brunch groupon. Let me just say that I feel ripped off. We were seated inside and were never informed that there was also food on the outdoor patio area which from what I am reading from other Unilocalers, was better than what’s inside. So my review is for what I did try inside. The bad: Potatoes were bland and so oily– needed seasoning salt or herbs bacon-super oily eggs benny — bland sausage– didn’t try it but Mo said it tasted old mini flan– dry & bland Jamaican jerk salad– bland The good: Made to order waffles topped with strawberry, chocolate, and whip Made to order omelette Fresh fruit– especially the strawberries and chocolate mini carrot cake-decent almond pastry was yummy can’t go wrong with bottomless mimosas :) but found it odd that upon arriving at our table our waitress asked if we’d like OJ when I asked for mimosas she said«Oh ok Your 21?» Umm ok I guess I’ll take that as a compliment but hello I paid for mimosas
Wierd that they had no toast out but there’s jam at the table? We were told we had to ask our waitress if there was any. We asked for hot sauce and our food was cold by the time our waitress remembered to bring it. Mo’s mimosa was empty for quite some time before she got a refill at 1st but service picked up after awhile and she topped us off often. I really wanted to like this place but for what it was I won’t be coming back, not even with a groupon. I definetely wouldn’t pay 50. As it is I paid 25 plus 6 dollars in tax + tip(which our waitress was sure to point out«gratuity is not included» in the $ 6). I’d be better off going to Hometown Buffet with better options and better food at that price.

I bought a Groupon really wanting to try(and love) this place. I really want to be fair but for the price of the Groupon and for what they say it normally cost I think there is a disconnect between what you are paying and what they think it’s worth. There were 3 food stations. Omelets & Waffles. Breakfast & Desserts. Mexican. For $ 20 per person I would expect better. The Groupon was $ 25 but they add $ 6 for tax even though the Groupon was for $ 50. The most expensive thing on the buffet was probably medium sized spicy shrimp but you can get shrimp at almost any buffet. There wasn’t a carving station or a pasta station so the choices were limiting if you don’t like Mexican food which not everybody does. The server was nice but very slow. I always had to flag her down. My rating is purely on quality of food(medicore at best) and value(overpriced). I like the outside ambiance but I am rating on food and value today.

Great SUNDAYCHAMPAGNEBUFFET! Purchased the buy one get one free Groupon Deal and we were very impressed. They had an omelet bar, waffle bar(SOODELISH), fresh made salads, nopales and outside on the patio they had flank steak on the grill, ceviche, a shrimp dish, rice a wide selection. Jose our server was awesome and had our champagne glasses full the whole time. Around 2 pm when the brunch was over the chef walked around the every table letting them know it was last call for food — thought that was a nice touch. A little plus is the patio — its a nice patio right next to a nice fountain so its a really relaxing time. We will def be back! THANKSJOSEFORTHEGREATSERVICE! p. s. the Lady at the front(Asian) who welcomed us was a little blah. I called the night before asking the hours and if we needed reservations they said no however the Asian lady said YES we did need reservations. Not sure why when it never really did get crowded?

I took my mom here for brunch a couple weeks back. We had a Groupon deal, so it was more than affordable. I usually really like the omelet station, but I was fairly disappointed in my egg. It wasn’t cooked right and the ingredients were bland. Much of the cooked food was also only alright. I did like cooked chicken breasts in the cream sauce, and the prime rib was also tasty. I mostly ate these two things. The mashed potatoes were also really good. We tried all the desserts and the strawberries stood out the most. They were huge, fresh, and sweet. I ate many of these. There was no wait when we arrived(although I saw a very long line shortly after) and service was attentive. We weren’t rushed at all, even though we sat for over two hours. We were even told when the buffet was closing down, in case we wanted to go back and get some food before it was all packed away and carried out. I thought that was a really nice touch.

I tried Garden Terrace Café and Patio after purchasing an awesome Groupon deal for Sunday brunch and I am truly glad I did. Its inside the Marriott Hotel on the first level. The view was exceptional and the food was awesome! They had many varieties and service was just amazing! Even though we were getting a huge discount(50% off), they treated us with first class service! We definitely will return to this place in the very near future and recommend them to our friends.

Five stars for the food, taking one away for the service. But this place is a hidden gem of ambiance and relaxation. If the loud noise of occasional jet engines freaks you out, don’t worry, it’s very infrequent but I love it and remiss when I only hear it once during a 2 hour meal. The food is top notch quality. It doesn’t matter what you order, this place is about hospitality and their food is tested and re-tested for audience approval. When I need predicable food in a quiet setting where I’m not rushed, this is place I come to chill out. Because it’s a hotel as well, I don’t feel weird going here alone or on weekdays. They aren’t snooty nor do they get offended if you return an item. Their business is hospitality and they don’t want to risk giving the rest of the Marriott a bad name so they tend to bend over backwards with special requests. Which, I of course, enjoy. I think this stands true with any hotel chain. I believe there is also wi-fi but not sure if it extends into this area.

We went for Mother’s Day and the service was so awful, we didn’t even get to brunch. Granted, it rained that Sunday, so no one wanted to sit outside. Because they seemed to have reservations up the ying-yang, they were behind TWO hours of seating. C’mon mangement! If I was in charge, I would have opened up a conference room, set some tables up, and handled the business. The back-up was horrendous and the maitre’d was not forgiving.

I can’t believe I’m the first review for this place! Ok, first off the inside waterfall is neat because it’s very relaxing! We ordered off the menu because we don’t like Buffett’s! After watching what came out of the Buffett I made the wrong decision, lol! This was a very large Buffett with plenty of fresh looking options! The menu food was also good and our service was top notch even on a busy 4th of July day! I would eat here again… sad, but it might be the cleanest place I have found so far in long beach!
