Let’s see where to start. Oh yes, whenever we are in town my husband requires that we stop in for a maple bar. All of their baked goods are fresh. I am more a fan of their french breakfast sandwiches that are so good since they make their own croissants. they are always busy so pack your patience! and most importantly get CASH! That is all they take. They have an ATM for your convenience but it holds everyone else up and then everyone is cranky if you get to the register and have to go off to get cash! So get Cash before you go! Prices are very reasonable compared to some other bakeries.

We come here every time we come to the ocean. It is one of the great old school style bakeries that reminds me of childhood. Great sandwiches(notable rueben), superb pasteries, and delicious breads. Not for the person looking for their trendy coffee chain store, or the hip new diet trend. The focus is in the traditional baked goods, just as a bakery should be.

Heads up, this place is Cash only! We were looking for a good bakery after our walk on the beach and we found this gem. It’s very old school and I loved it! They had so many options that it was hard to decide, however we finally decided to go with a vegan option, a berry danish with cream cheese filling and a devil dog to take home to my dad. Everything was pretty good, however the danish I received had little to no cream cheese and didn’t look anything like the ones in the case. I was disappointed with the danish, but the other stuff we ordered made up for it. The older woman helping us wasn’t too friendly but we saw her warm up to two other women who came into order sandwiches after us. I thought about grabbing coffee here but decided against it because I figured a coffee shop down the road might be a better option for what I was looking for. I would check this place out again especially because their prices are very reasonable, I’ll just have to make sure I have enough cash before walking through the door.

Donuts, danishes, pies, etc, theyve got a big variety to choose from. Also on the side of the pastry cases, theres a place to order breakfast such as coffee, egg ham cheese bagels, etc. one of the ladies taking our order seemed frazzled/cranky because she had no idea what a shot of espresso was.

Awful customer service. Got scolded by the older woman working there because I tried to order my coffee at the breakfast counter and not the till, which was five feet away. After waiting 25 minutes for an Americano I finally got it… I am not one to waste coffee but this was awful and undrinkable. They let the shots sit so it was bitter and tasted like burnt, watered-down coffee. When I tried to talk to the manager she was dismissive and refused to do anything to rectify the situation, even when I asked for a measly 10% reduction in my ticket. I’ve been here several times before and never had a real positive experience, but I’m for sure not giving them any more chances.

Cottage bakery is amazing. It’s not just the location, it’s not JUST the rum balls(although they are exquisite, and something you cannot find where I am from). It isn’t just the coffee, cakes and pastries and the mile long display of them. It’s also the service that rocks. I had a conversation there with a tall man with a mustache who I asked a million questions too before placing my order. Needless to say, he answered each and every one, with a slight smile on his face, and patience in his bright blue eyes. When I ordered my mocha and rum ball, we had a fascinating conversation pertaining about the bakery, its history, how the location was a bakery that opened in 1908. How the current owners bought it in 1974. I noticed at that point, how amazing all of the staff was. They were making conversations with their customers, the place was VERY busy. I too then realized that everyone was there not only for their rad pastries, seemingly rad sandwiches, but their service and staff and that warm«small town feel» you get walking into the place. I live a couple hours away from Long Beach and had not been there in years. I am really glad I walked in there that day. People often think Long Beach is primarily for visiting Jake the alligator man, but stopping in Cottage Bakery, is an absolute must. Not for the appeal of the overly decorated interior, but for the experience of good old fashioned food and conversation. This week, I will find myself back in the hustle and bustle of my life and job, and I think back on the little things of a good out of town trip and they make me smile knowing that I will make it back one day. I really wish I could thank the kind man personally for keeping the legacy of the bakery alive with conversation and great service. Five stars for food? Yes. Five stars for prime customer service? Indefinitely.

Mixed bag. Bread was great! Sandwich cut herb bread had excellent cardamom flavor. Apple turnover was basically like a dollar menu pie from McDonald’s — nothing special. Finally, the snickerdoodle cookie was a bit dry. I’ve heard the pies are the thing to have.

Everything we ate here was delicious and the sweet gal behind the counter was helpful as well. We got 6 pastries and it was a little over $ 7 not bad at all. Only reason that in am giving 4 stars is because all the cinnamon rolls had raisens or nuts and all the chocolate chip cookies had nuts and we were hoping to sit and eat our rushed to go bobs chowder meal and some danishes before we hit the road but they only allow food bought there to be eaten there. Dumb rule especially if we just bought a whole box of pastries from there but its posted that its some health code reason… anyway try the glazed devils food cake donut. and the maple bar… o m g,.when I find the pic of my son holding our pastry box I will post it so you can drool.

Great selections of baked treats. The girl behind the counter had great recommendations on what to buy. Prices were cheap and the baked goods were delicious.

Ordering food at this place was a circus. No signage where to order, employees are completely unprepared for crowds, multiple lines all over the place. Because of the disorganization, the restaurant is filthy! Food everywhere, dust, grease. They were cutting brown lettuce for sandwiches and the whole back counter was covered in crusty dried gravy. We ordered an egg sandwich… The eggs were made in the freaking microwave, and the bacon was precooked bacon bits. He croissant was very good though, obviously home made. The ladies making the breakfast sandwiches were clearly stressed out by the crowds, and very unpleasant. After hearing that this was the best bakery in town, I am very disappointed in the cleanliness and organization.

Wonderful little bakery! Super friendly service. Gorgeous cakes in the cake stand, and an array of pastries! Also sandwiches available for the more healthy food inclined. The lattes were just so-so but I’d still be back, if only to look again at the cakes and sample the great pastries!

Everything the reviews said and more. This review is just for the bakery. Amazing selection of all sorts of great sweet goods. Glad I don’t live closer because I would be ginormous. We settled on several items to take back to our room and the best was the«devil dog» which is a chocolate bar filled with custard. Yooser! Already wishing we had bought a dozen instead of a half dozen.

Cash only! I think I am on a four-star roll for this trip. We didn’t order any food to be prepared, but we ordered some pastries and doughnut. They were excellent. I fancy myself a doughnut connoisseur and this is the third worthy bakery I have found. My husband had a praline pastry, my grandson a peanut butter chocolate muffin, my grand daughter a sprinkled cake doughnut and I had a maple bar. They were all fresh and delicious. The other two great bakeries are Sluys in Poulsbo, WA and Larry and Kristy’s in Bremerton, WA. I did think the staff left something to be desired. They seemed a little cranky. Also, when you go in, know that you pay at one counter and get your goodies there. The coffee and other drinks are down at the other end and you get them yourself. You have to go…

My fiancé and I were craving pastries for breakfast so we decided to take a bike ride to the Cottage Bakery. It was PACKED! I talked to a local standing in line in front of us, and she said obviously because it was 4th of July weekend, there was going to be a lot of people, but she has NEVER seen the bakery that packed ever. The pastries were delicious and very affordable! The only downside is the lines were very long, especially for the deli/coffee part of the store. It takes awhile for them to make one sandwich or one coffee, so be patient when you’re standing in line. The wait is worth it! I would’ve rated this place higher if it hadn’t been for the lines we had to stand in.

When we went here, it was very busy with long lines, they do have a nice selection of bakery stuff, and the service here was pretty prompt and courteous– they did a real good job at keeping the line moving– we ended up getting a couple things, but I had thought I asked for a turnover, which we did not get so I hope we didnt pay for it lol. Overall, I would recommend this place if your in the Long Beach, WA(not California lol) area!

While driving around looking for some good breakfast items we spotted this really cute little bakery on the strip of longbeach. When you walk in its a bit confusing because there are 3 different places to order sweets, coffee and egg sandwiches. You can order at one of the registers but the way the bakery is set up you can’t see the menu for anything else on the other side. So it’s best just to go to the registers seperatly. The bakery goods were amazing! I got 5 different donuts to try and they all were really good. The breakfast sandwiches kind of freaked me out since they microwave the egg… ot a fan of that no matter how cute the bakery is. 3 stars just because the bakery items are THAT good!

They have gluten free treat options! The had peanut butter cookies, plain & chocolate dipped macaroons and chocolate dipped haystacks today. The macaroons were wonderful, my husband does’t love coconut and he said«they were pretty good». I like coconut and thought they were wonderful. A very nice over worked lady helped me, she was going back and forth between two registers. She was a little frazzled, and yet still polite and wiling to help me find gluten free options. This is a place to check out!
