Came here because the Doghaus was not open(did not know it was not open yet); was really hungry so I stopped here and I wish I didn’t. The majority of the trays were empty and what was there obviously was there for awhile. I still ordered and ate as much as I could stand(I was really hungry), but there is a reason that on a Friday during the dinner rush this place stood empty.

Good stuff! They have all the usual Fast Chinese dishes but they have Great Flavor! Its not too difficult to impress me — just put tons of garlic and I will eat it. I think thats their secret. If you go during busier times youll avoid food thats been sitting a while. I would definitely go back, and also try some of their freshly made dishes.

Avoid at all costs. Food sits in trays for hours on end under heat lamps. Food tastes stale and gross. They charge 50 cents extra if you use a card. Worst Chinese food ive had.

Not a fan of the combo plate tasted old rice and orange chicken were the worst I would take a pass for sure next time that’s what I get for trying something new.

Cheap, fast, freshly made shrimp fried rice and kung pao. Can’t go wrong there. My advice is to order dishes that are prepared fresh rather than the combo stuff under the lights.

If you are in the Long Beach area and are looking for a Chinese food spot thats not only lowkey but is good plus has a fair price come here! It may not be fancy like all the other restaurants in the area but my visit here left me very satisfied with the food that I had bought. There was plenty of selection amongst the food and the price wasn’t that bad either… yeah they accept credit cards but will charge you an additional 50 cents which isn’t that bad. Definitely good quality rice and awesome chow mein. A plate with 2 entrees and one additional item will set you back abut 6 bucks but the portions are more than fair. Plenty of room to sit. Fast service! The Thai ice tea also looked very tempting. I’m a sucker for these Chinese food spots and this one was a treasure found since I was craving exactly this when I came to Long Beach.

Searching for good cookes right chow mein is hard to find. But i found it here. Its hits the spot and that’s all you need. I haven’t tried anything else, not because it doesn’t look good… just because its not my thing. Example: i love burritos, not tacos. I love hot sandwiches, not cold. … You see the trend… So,.i don’t know about their other food.

Hey Unilocalers! I always forget to write a review of this place bc whenever I leave I’m so happy & content :) ! I’ve been a customer of this place since 2009 and what got me into this place was the SHRIMPSPICYFRIEDRICE: D ! One day our roommate brought leftovers of this amazing fried rice and we have been hooked ever since. The shrimp is BOMB and the spice is just right! In fact I credit this dish to be the dish that made me open minded to seafood again after years of avoiding seafood. Since this is a online review I can’t attach the photo to this review, but I did upload a photo of it to Unilocal here:
Even tho this place is a chinese fast food place, the only other thing I’ve ever had here(BECAUSE I LOVETHESPICYSHRIMPFRIEDRICE,($ 6.99)) is longanesia. which is a type of asian sausage, I’m under the impression that its filipino bc I’m filipino and have only seen it in my culture growing up. But the longaneia cooked here is great, they serve it dry and tasty @ .80cents a piece. If they don’t have it available they are willing to cook it for you fresh. My bf thinks it goes well with the spicy fried rice, and it does! But while he eats the longaneisa I eat the shrimp hehe :) ! They serve as the typical chinese fast food restaurant but I always find their place to be clean and modern. Their restaurant is in downtown long beach so they do have to be clean! As downtown is near the port, I guess at one point they started selling filipino food too as filipino sailors, port people? IDK what they are called missed the food from their homeland and Chopstix learned to cater to that haha :). They have sinigang, tocino, filipino snacks like chips, salted egg, etc. bc Im used to eating all that at home I don’t order it but I know its available. the spicy fried rice can be served extra spicy to no heat whatsoever up to you. I think they have a chicken variation as well. We pair it with a $ 1 can of arizona tea and we are set to go. We have been loyal customers to just this spicy fried rice dish for years and that dish alone. I hope if possible you guys get to try it bc its amazing, there is hot sauce/soy sauce on each table for people to add to their dishes as well. Parking is for the plaza but Chopstix counts too haha. First two hours are free without validation(set a timer on your phone). If driving on 3rd street which is a one way street, the restaurant is on your right and the entrance to the parking structure is on the right as well. If you miss the turn to that parking structure continue on third, make a right at Pine, continue till you hit fourth, make a right at fourth and the entrance to the parking structure will be on your right again next to the armani exchange store(something like that). If you passed wing stop you misseed the entrance and just go around again. Make a right at the stop, make a right at 3rd and aim for that parking structure. Lol I apologize about not reviewing about the other food. In the 5 years that I’ve been a customer the only thing I order is that Shrimp Spicy Fried Rice and that is literally all I need: D ! Any questions or concerns please feel free to ask & if you are going pls hit the useful button so I know that this help someone haha! & hit cool if your eating the shrimp spicy fried rice or you liked it or your gonna try it: D ! Seriously its amazing! & one last thing, they do call in’s as in you can call ahead for your order(as far as I know the number on Unilocal is correct). We call in about 10 mins before we get there so our food will be ready bc that is the only thing we order. It can be to-go or eaten there doesn’t matter to us. Please don’t be a flake when it comes to ordering, wasted food = more expensive food. Be decent and cancel if anything. They have an atm available & I believe credit is $ 10 minimum so be prepared. Hope this helps! Thanks: D ! & I am not affiliated whatsoever with any chopstixs employee or family member. I am just a loyal customer to daaa spicy shrimp fried rice & I would be forever sad if it was gone. & also don’t forget to specify you want SHRIMP fried rice, they have a lot & the Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice is a special made to order dish, so its fresh: D !

Food overall is ok but a family owned restaurant is great to support… sure hell beats Panda Express

This is a really great place to get chinese food if youre in the downtown area! Everytime I come here I always order the shrimp fried rice or the combo with teriyaki chicken and orange chicken. First of all the shrimp fried rice is so delicious. I get mine spicy and they add just the right amount of spice where its not too spicy but also not too plain. I really recommend this if you decide to stop by this place. Next, the teriyaki chicken is really yummy and is grilled perfectly while the orange is also delicious. Overall, whenever I’m in downtown I like to go to this place for their good food. Also, there are some days where they sell Filipino food so they sell a good variety of food.

I usually don’t go to these chinese food places. For the simple fact that it isn’t real chinese food 90 percent of the times. This place made me curious due to the fact that I was in the mood for fried rice. I like the fact that it is a family ran business. The family feel you get is pretty good, because they are at ease. You don’t get the feeling they are being friendly just because they have to, but because they want to. When I ordered the shrimp fried rice, another great thing caught my eye. This place serves talipia fried. They sale it in differen’t sizes as well. This complimented the shrimp fried rice well. The prices here are good here as well. So much food, for a small price. Now the quality of food, I will say you get what you pay for. The food won’t give your taste buds ectasy. Moreover it won’t leave your taste buds in need of pain killers either. I could possibly see myself coming back here. Since it’s quick, above average in taste, and has a tight knit family ran atmosphere that is better than chain places.

We have progressively become bigger fans of this place, and prefer it over Panda Express just a block away. The staff is friendly and more than generous with their portions. The prices are good and we get twice as much food as we would at a chain Chinese food joint. Now I’m not saying it’s gourmet, but that’s not what I expect to get when I go to a fast food place. And it’s also not healthy, but again, not my expectation when I eat cheap Chinese food. Keeping these expectations in mind, it will surpass what you assume.

This place is across the street from my office. The wonton soup is excellent, and the vegetable tofu is delicious. They offer something like coconut juice that you may not find in most other store and some Filipino food in additional to the Chinese food. The only draw back in this location is it’s cash only with no ATM on site.

Late one night after a movie I decided I wanted Chinese, I found this place on Unilocal and went there. The place is actually fairly decent, they serve a ton of different types of meals which always creeps me out, es[ecially when I see Pad Thai, Sushi, and Chow Mein on the same menu. However, this place actually pulled off a fairly decent meal. It was well cooked, the server was pleasant enough, and it was open until a ridiculously late time at night. I suppose if I was in the neightbourhood at night I would go again.

Listen to me. I know what I am talking about. i am no stranger to bad Chinese food. In fact, it’s all I was familiar with as a young kid. There was no such thing as sitting at a nice Chinese restaurant and ordering Egg Drop soup, chicken won tons, chow mein, fried rice and an entrée. Maybe some tea. The fast food corner shops were it for us. For less than $ 10, you could get 3 combos with drinks… and that would feed a family of four. Sure, the price you pay is the«price you pay» later… but for a family on a budget who wants to stray from the mundane(frijoles de hoya y tortillas), combo #9 is heaven. Since then, my taste for Asian cuisine has matured. Places the double as a Chinese food/Donut shop are to be avoided at all cost. Places that have meal deals and pile on the food in a small styrofoam container — run for the hills. There is a reason they’re giving you SOMUCHFOOD. They don’t want it. Ladies, you ever notice when you go to a nail salon and the nail technicians don’t have their nails done? In fact, I have never met a nail technician with acrylic nails. It’s not because it’s hard to work with nails — it’s because they know it’s BAD for you! Same thing with the Chinese fast food places — they don’t eat it themselves… why? Because it’s really bad and they know no amount of Pepto or Alka-seltzer will ease the great pain. Chopstix falls into the category of BAD. There is really NO good reason to ever eat here — unless you have a tight wallet and are looking forward to a long hot and heavy date with your toilet later on. Seriously. Listen to me. Even if they have Orange Chicken and Cream Cheese Wontons… save yourself. Keep walking… just keep on walking.

food is ok… ive definitely had better. i was craving some chinese food and this was the closest to my work. i think all the fried rice and fried noodles need are more ingredients, adding only soy sauce and cabbage just doesnt cut it.

I really want to give this place a 2 but I bumped um up to a 3 because they had all their family working the place, and family rocks. Is it good? Well, I didn’t vomit. I wasn’t creaming my pants either… you know, like spilling my food? Anyways, I ordered the Mongolian and let’s just say it wasn’t like any other Mongolian I had ever had in my life. lol Friend had some fully cooked fish thing and said it was way too dry. Even took the fish back up to the counter and asked for them to pour some sauce all over it. :D Place was popping though which threw me for a loop. People were lined up to order and seemed all happy to be there. Why that was … totally beats me. I was happy to leave. NOTE: Bring cash! No cards accepted and if you don’t have cash, they conveniently placed an ATM next to the counter. HOWEVER, it will cost you $ 1.99 in ATM fees… plus whatever your bank will charge on top of that.

In the very special genre of bastardized American-Chinese food, this is the best takeout place I have been to in Long Beach. It’s so interesting that these restaurants always have the same stuff — eggplant tofu, green bean chicken, teriyaki chicken, etc and of course fried rice or chow mein. but this one also seems to have some unique and fresh looking brothy-meat-on-bone with vegetables phillipinoish dishes. i’m definitely going back and trying them. what i did get — chow mein and eggplant with tofu was delicious. chow mein noodles were not flourescent orange and included lots of cabbage. eggplant tofu had the white-firm tofu, instead of the fried outer one. not too greasy, given what it was. hits the spot when you want something salty, greasy, and vaguely chinese.
