The food is mediocre but the service is AWFUL. Overheard the workers talking bad about the customer in front of me in Cambodian. I was choosing my items and apparently my decisions were not fast enough for the workers. This girl behind the counter was talking trash about me in Cambodian. Little did she know I understood every word she said. I told her to find a job that doesn’t involve interacting with people and a job that doesn’t cause her to be so miserable. Rude!

This use to be my favorite fast food. I went yesterday after moving out of the city and I was so disappointed. It was terrible! I can’t believe how bad it’s gotten. Dry chow mein, mushroom chicken was all fat! Awful. Never will I spend the time or money there again.

This is the worst Chinese food place in Long Beach. Prices are cheap just like the food, Service there was horrible, very rude and inconsiderate of customers needs. I will never in my life go back there again!

This is my favorite place in the world ! Yes it’s cash only but it’s totally worth stopping at an atm ! I’ve been eating here sense I was 5 years old ! There is always a line even before it opens ! I can’t eat Chinese food from anywhere else because nothing tastes as good as China chef express everyone who I’ve told to try this had had nothing but positive things to say about the food ! I recommend the orange chicken !

Love this place. My mom use to work nearby so we would get Chinese food every now and then for dinner. Portions are big, so we always share family style. My favorite is their Kung Pao chicken. My sister loves their chow mien and broccoli and beef. The shrimp fried rice is also delicious, but again the order is pretty big, so expect to share. The prices are extremely reasonable for how much they give you. And the cashier has been working there since I was a kid. It’s not the best Chinese food you’ll ever have, but for something quick to satisfy the craving, this will do it.

This place has really good food but bad customer service. I asked for a plate and got ignored by the cashier. I had to ask her again and she made a face and directed me to a bowl that was on the counter. I asked for a plate not a bowl.

Honestly this place a year back was amazing the food«EVERYTHING» will be freashed there wouldn’t be any complains but after the 5 time coming here in the last month the food especially the egg roll and the ORANGECHICKEN have been tasting ABSOULTINGDISQUIETING!!! It’s been coming DRY and the taste isn’t there anymore… For me it’s time to find another place for chinse food this isn’t the place for it anymore

Food is good here for being fast food and Chinese. I’ve had horrible Chinese food and this place is the best in town. If your looking for something good, affordable and fast this is it. Customer service is not the very best.

I love this place. Huge portions for a low price for seven dollars you get chow mein, or fried rice, or half-and-half, two items, egg roll and a soda. If you don’t want to so do you get two egg rolls! I personally get chow mein, orange chicken, beef broccoli, with the two egg rolls and no soda. I love their beef broccoli. Sometimes it’s not as good but usually it’s pretty spot on. Their orange chicken is also good heavy in sauce tho. There’s usually a long line and it’s cash only so make sure you have cash. Definitely worth the wait and they move fast

Love this place. I even waited in a long line to order a combo plate. I recommended everyone to try this place if u like Chinese food. Very affordable with good portion. Try to avoid lunch and dinner time if u can because they do get crazy busy. Lunch time from 1 to 3 and dinner time 5 to 6 or 7.

I prefer dining here for cheap chinese fast food. Next to that would be pick up stix. There’s always a line out the door, it’s always busy. But that line moves pretty quick. Is the food amazing? It’s decent, cheap. I douse the food at times with hot sauce and soy sauce at times. Man the portion they give is just worth the cost and it’s also close to home. Friendly? Sometimes. But they’re so busy all the time packing. Not having an actual break to relax that I know it can get exhausting. I used to work at See’s and during the holiday you get so much back pain. I don’t know how these ladies do it. The place is rarely clean, I think they need to hire an extra person to bus the place.

Very nice food. Great prices on the 1&2 item combos. Almost daily long line to get in. Usually out to the parking lot. But well worth the wait. Line moves quick. The ladies working are friendly. Been going there for years. I personally enjoy all the choices especially the teriyaki chicken & mushroom chicken. My family & I always enjoy their food. Other places may be slightly cheaper but don’t give healthy portions like china chef express. Only thing that made me :(is the fact they no haven’t served BBQ pork. like they did years ago. One of my favorites. All & all… great place. Great food. Highly recommend if your in the area of east Anaheim street & obisbo. near Redondo ave. There’s a mickey D’s.food4less, metro PCS, rite aid, walgreens & a factory 2 U(fallas)…literally there across to do extra shopping before you grab a bite to eat.

This is the only Chinese food place that I absolutely love. I grew up in the area and now I am in Gardena so it sucks that nothing else compares to this place. Yes the place isn’t very clean but who cares! the food is amazing and I always take it to go anyway. Lines are always long but it goes by quickly, trust me its worth a small wait.

I have been eating here bi-monthly for almost 3 years now, and what I experienced last night was a nightmare-MSG! Tonight I’m better, somewhat, 1 mg of Clonazepam tonight(which is now working) after 2 mg at lunch today is what it took to settle my body down. I have never had a problem with the food eaten from here, no reaction, side affects-NOTHING! Sad to say, I will not endure the palpitations, feeling like I’m coming out of my skin, sleeplessness, tossing & turning, hot & cold flashes, headaches etc., again. Someone must have dumped a Rick-Shaw-Load of MSG in the foods I ordered on the 31st; the Teriyaki Chicken tasted funny too. *Needless to say, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been doing something, coming to a place to eat, eventually if it is [bad] for you(and I know it) it WILL catch up with you and, I have no intention of experiencing what caused 2014 to start out with symptoms of malaria again-easy to solve, not ever coming back here-DONE! China Chef Express, your good on the fly for the cheap, but it is time for you to do this in my poor cheat day cravings:
