I live a few blocks from Chekos and come here at least 1ce a week. This place is delicious. Authentic mexican seafood. They give you so much food for your buck and the service here is excellent. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and never been disappointed. Will definitely be coming back evrytime I need my dose of Seafood.

So I didn’t get to eat here because the waitress over looked me when I told her I was ready to order. She said ok left brought out some dishes then came back with chips and dip. Instead of taking my order she left went to another table and took 3 orders over my 1. Next time I’ll bring my honey with me and see if we get the same service. Oh well I’ll spend my money else where.

Very very delicious. We needed a good sea food place in the north long beach area. I believe my server was Yolanda very very nice. I got the langostinos very tangy and food. Loved it!

Man… where can I start, cheko is not like any other Mariscos places you been. it’s really a different ceviche style. Fish is fresh and cooked perfectly it does not disappoint.

Went here for lunch today. Shrimp Ceviche was fresh and delicious. Also tried the Shrimp Burrachos marinated in garlic and tequila. That was very tasty as well.
Service was great. Very attentive and friendly. Definitely have to try more items on the menu such as the fish tacos and fried fish.

Lo mejor para cualquier día. Viernes para empezar la peda o asta el domingo para acabarla con una curaduría para la cruda.

Five stars for sure. My wife and I found this place by chance on Unilocal,and it was excellent! We had the marlin tacos, fish ceviche, and shrimp in the house sauce (Camarones en salsa langoustino), and all three were excellent. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. We were stuffed with these three dishes.
Next time, I really want to try the grilled shrimp and then maybe a whole fried fish. So many things on the menu here. We also met the owner, Carla (?), who was very friendly and kept checking on us.
Cheko El Rey is definitely going on our regular rotation of restaurants. Like Pollo Imperial around the corner, it’s a neighborhood gem!

My boyfriend & I recently ate here and I have to say I absolutely loved everything. Service was great, very friendly. The food was delicious and the Micheladas were on point. We definitely will be back very soon.

The food is exceptional. We ordered the Marlin pâté tostadas, ceviche and smoked Marlin tacos.
The tostadas are fresh and the pâté has such a rich taste. The ceviche has such bright flavors and the fish is so firm.
There’s only street parking or small parking lot in the back that can hold seven cars.

I really enjoyed the Tostaditas Locas and the Michelada was spot on! Place is clean, staff is nice, food is great but I prefer my shrimp cocktail nice and cold and since my shrimp was freshly cooked it was kinda warm but still good! I will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely love this place, I live about 2 minutes away, and every time I come in whether it’s take out or sit down, they always know my order. I don’t even have to tell them what I want. I really like the staff there and really hope them much success because I love this place. I go every week. I’m a person that loves mariscos and let me tell you this place is spot on. Exactly what was needed around here! So glad that I don’t have to drive 20 miles to my old neighborhood anymore for good ceviche. Definitely a life saver when I’m hungover lol

I’m in love with this place, I’ve made this place my favorite lunch spot. I’m a fanatic of their fish tacos. They are very good and have a unique taste that it has you craving for more. Also, their Ceviche de Camaron is great, very juicy and spicy.
I recommend this place to family and friends. Very modest and clean place. Great staff, fast service.

The food was delicious. We had a shrimp cocktail, tacos de marlin, and pescado saranguedo. Theyre not playing with their shrimp cocktail. It had more shrimp than veggies unlike other paces we have been to. The tacos de marlin were delicious. If you order the pescado sarangueado be prepared to wait 30 minutes. It is made when you order it. It is so worth the wait. Full of flavor and tender. Definitely coming back.

Ordered the pescado sarandeado and Camarones al mojo de ajo. Both dishes were huge and so delicious. My mouth is watering as I type. It’s that good! I highly recommend this seafood joint if you live in the LBC/​Southbay.

Ok so we decided to give this place a try considering all the great reviews. To start our waitress was very attentive. Brought us chips and salsa & our drinks. However, not so much towards the end. We had to go up to the counter request our bill & to go boxes (umm not cool considering they weren’t busy but instead just on their phones). But whatevs.
We ordered marlin tacos which were delicious & full of flavor.
We also got the camarones a la cucaracha which were ok, pretty much fried shrimp nothing major. (Tasted like the dry shrimp you get in a bag)
Ceviche el Rey was good as well, nothing out of this world but it did have a nice presentation.
The shrimp en langostino sauce were just ehh.
I think next time I’ll try the pescado sarandeado (since this is what they’re known for).

First thing is first I think that the menu should include pictures of all the plates… it would be much easier to order exactly what you want be are in the digital age when what you see is what u get … specially if you are a new business we as customers don’t know what to expect…
Other Than My First Comment, Food Is Amazing… Fresh Than Can Be Tasted the Shrimp ceviches are amazing the tacos are bomb the chips and green sauce are delicious the only thing missing is beer…
Wish I was a local to come more often… if you are in the neighborhood do yourself a favor and eat here I know Mariscos and this place is on my top list

This place is so good! Family owned and super friendly. We tried the ceviche costal, cucarachitas and ceviche patron. No pic of the ceviche costal because we devoured it too fast! I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. We will be coming back to try all their other dishes.
