Food sucks big time. .if you want something local other than McDonald’s then this is the place. Definitely not your go to place for a good burger abs fries. …let’s not even start with the so called pastrami. Go to Louis burger down the street.

If I could I would give this zero stars. This place is by far the worst service and food I’ve eaten. I ordered a pancake combo which should have taken 5 – 10 mins to make. How hard is it to cook two sausage, two eggs, and two pancakes. I’ve waited over 30 mins for just that! I might as well have gone to McDonald’s I would have been more satisfied with my service. After getting my food the women at the counter had the nerves to tell me call ahead next time. Really?! There was one person in the restaurant eating and he was even done before I even gotten my food! What a waste of time and money. Charge $ 1.25 for card use plus they make it even to either 10, 20, 30 etc and give you back cash.

I only buy burgers here it is basically the only burger(diner style) I will eat. It’s hard to find a burger I like. It has always been personal choice some will like them, others will love them and of course other will down right hate them. The service is good yet it gets awful hot in this establishment so my family and I have only ate there once. My hubby isn’t a fan of this place but like I said I only like the burgers cause its what I’ve tried. I rather not try more because other places already are my favorite for certain things so why ruin a good thing(food) in this case or experience.

Been here plenty of times, but not worth checking in on Unilocal,it’s that local burger joint. Usually grab a couple burgers fries n out the door… and pay cash. So we stop in and order one cheeseburger(3.85+tax), with no cash in-hand we pay with credit, the lady hands a receipt for $ 6.25 and $ 1.10 change(Anyone see a problem here?). She tries to explain the smallest amount they can charge is $ 5, then there is a $ 1.25 fee. The difference of the fee and the burger is the $ 1.10. Besides the burgers being above the average McDonald’s, the fee and minimal charge should have been explained before the transaction was ran, good business practice. If I don’t have cash I’m not stopping here.

Horrible experience! A man walked in and asked for my fries and almost grabbed them from me. He went over and took another lady’s plate and began scarfing it down. The lady runs out of the place and screams. Okay, you would think that the chef and the older lady clerk would have said something? No, they said nothing to the man except for literally telling him nicely, «goodbye.» So after all of this I ask for a refill on my 4 ounce cup of soda that came with my combo. They want 50 cents to refill the tiny cup. I politely say«no thank you then.» Then he rolls his eyes and walks off. Come on! Don’t treat the polite paying customer like a bum and treat the man stealing food off of people’s plates like a customer! Insane!

I’ve only been here once when I had a cheeseburger and fries craving yesterday, but I feel I’ll be a regular of this place. The cheeseburger was good, and the fries were excellent! Good prices, too! I’m making this my go-to spot for when the munchies hit. There’s a pan dulce place next door that I might try soon, too… but that’s for another review.

Food is pretty good here. Simple and great folks running it. Great portion on the pastrami and french fries every time.

This place agitated me so much, I had such high expectations too. The service was terrible, and the woman over charged my card without telling me but then gave me change in cash, something that I didn’t want, or even get told was gonna happen. Then she tried to charge me $ 1 for refilling 2 sodas, it’s 2014 stop refill charging people, it’s a pathetic way to rip people. When I expressed grief about it she said it’s what her boss tells her to do including the over charging. To top it all off they allowed this couple, that was friends with the cashier, to hang out in front of us and make out the whole time, why would you allow that kind of behavior where I’m eating, go do that at home not where I’m trying to enjoy my food.

If you like a good hamburger like I do then Blue Star is the spot. I enjoyed every bite of it, a good size, price is fair. Service is good to even for a busy day you’ll be out of there in 15 min on a to-go order.

A nice hidden treasure in the neighborhood. This place has been here for many many years but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I actually checked it out and I’ve been coming here ever since. If you love that tams style burgers you’re in for a treat. The burgers are delicious and juicy with lots of fries on the side. My fav so far has been the double bacon cheese burger. The breakfast is good as well. You got your bacon, hash, eggs, ham and toast to start your day., They have a good selection of plates and burgers. The place itself is small and it’s got that vintage look to it but clean for the most part. The cashiers and cooks are friendly. If you’re in town and want a delicious burger made right in the hood, stop by and give these guys some love

Small. Dingy. Cheap tables. garbage outside the front door. crazy homeless guy talking to himself in the parking lot. I only ordered one thing: double chili burger. $ 5.79. not exactly cheap, but reasonable. And the best damn burger I’ve had in 5 years. They obviously make their own chili, the bun is slightly sweet, the burger meat grilled tender and seasoned. Not sure if the secret ingredient is a sweet mayo or crack, but with the mustard, onions, and chili, all congealing into this amazing flavor, I WILL be back for more. Don’t kid yourself. This toothless hooker gives the best head in town.

Been coming here since I was a kid, Just went back for the first time in years and still looks the same, aside from getting rid of the arcade games. Don’t let the look of the place fool you, they serve good food here. Same cook has been there for over 20+ years.

I come here every once and a while, their burgers are really good, what makes them great is the sauce they put in them. I dont usually just order and leave because its too small to stay(for me) but you could. The burgers are a little bit more expensive than Jack or McDonalds but they are worth it

First time yesterday. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo. I asked for my burger with out tomato and with extra pickles. I get home to indulge and my burger had EXTRA tomato and one pickle!!! But it’s all good, just threw out the tomato and enjoyed my one pickle chip.lol. The burger itself was very good. I really liked the sauce. My fries did come out crispy as requested. Would I go back? Yes.

I set out for Carl’s Jr and saw this place and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I had a bacon cheese burger with fries and a drink. It came to a little under $ 8, but it was better than normal fast food — the fries had a nice texture of crispy outside and creamy inside, and the bacon was thick and slightly crispy the way it should be. Also, the food comes with a side of pickled small whole chilis. They also make all kinds of omelets, pancakes and other diner type food. This is does not at all belong in the category of «Ice cream and frozen yogurt». I’m not even sure they serve ice cream. I have put it a vote for«burgers» on the category selection.

I was hungry and I had breakfast here once before heading to the LB Mission just steps away for volunteer work. I wasn’t familiar with the area(First time actually) and decided on this place as I could not locate anything near by, not even the chain fast food places that are usually abundant when you don’t need them. This is a hole in the wall eatery. Looks dangerous to enter but people standing outside and seated inside didn’t give me hassles, got stares but no biggie. The price is low, good. The portions are low, ok for the price I guess. Food quality was so so. A quick morning snack is more like it but I was craving eggs and the scrambled egg and toast plate did the job. The lady behind the counter who took the order kept staring at me as if trying to figure out what’s wrong with me(In hind sight, she was probably thinking«another one bites the dust, heading towards LB mission…». I was dressed in old clothes expecting to sweat and get dirty in the LB mission kitchen, and also I didn’t speak in complete sentences when ordering food, not a morning person. Lady, I’m normal. Don’t listen to my neighbors though).

After checking in at the hotel, I drove around the immediate area to scope out lunch options. This«drive in» — which is really just a corner burger joint with a handful of parking spaces in front — met my immediate needs and offered some local color to boot. My lunch wasn’t expensive. Something on the order of $ 4 or $ 5. I got the cheeseburger special, which comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo, French fries, and a soda. The fries were fine — thicker fries just shy of being wedges — and the Coke was cold. And the burger? Great. The meat was on the thin side, but all in all, it was awesome. While I’m not the biggest fan of Los Angeles’s car culture, I am thrilled silly that in the midst of suburban sprawl, highway-side chain eateries, and the like, the city can still support hundreds of independent burger joints. They’re LA’s answer to the delis of New York City. And they should be supported. Boycott chain burgers. Go to a mom and pop!
