Best punk bar in Long Beach… although I’m not punk (and haven’t been since my psychobilly days back in the mid 2000s) and I don’t care for punk bars. I prefer old man dive bars or cocktail lounges. But this is definitely smaller than Alex’s Bar, and better. And nor as trashy as Fern’s nor the skater trendy influence of the Red Room. This bar could easily move from the east side of LB to the west side, where I’m at, and turn some locala into metal and punk fans but oh well. Parking here sucks but it’s LB — only parked a block away on a Tues night. Fat Tire was 5.50 and they have metal shows!!! For 5 bucks!
Plenty of flat screens, bartender that could pass fkr Fairuza Balk’s sister, and a nice big horseshoe bar.

I love Dive Bars and Punk Rock… However, this place is hell. I came in and wanted to walk right out. Crusty old regulars and sketchy looking guys sparsely populated the bar… I wouldn’t have felt safe there had I not been with a guy. It felt hostile. I don’t need much to feel welcome, but the walk into Al’s Bar during it’s heyday on Skid Row felt more welcoming and safer. The décor is designed to ensure the sound is awful… metal siding halfway up the walls topped with fake brick linoleum. The owner is a not a punk, but a «Bro» who likes punk music. You know the guy that shows up at a gig after watching a football game so he can wade into the pit and punch people with impunity with his gym muscles. You real punks know the type, right? He’s that guy.

I don’t write many reviews, because I’m really not a picky person, but I’m in this place right now, and I’m genuinely impressed by their entire staff. Even if you don’t like punk music you should come here. The bar tender Hanni is amazing. I haven’t met many friendlier people than her in my life. She’s aware, funny, and caring. I literally just watched the owner, Dave, deal with a situation in the perfect possible way. He’s young, cool, and trying to run a business the right way, but still have fun while he does it. Staff is great. Prices great. Stop scrolling. Just get there. Now.

Wow I love this bar a punk rock bar close with cheap drinks and pool, just my style, every bar now plays crap hip hop and house lol, everyone there is mellow and they also have cool reggae bands coming in. Wish this place was open 10 years ago. Not to mention hot bartenders.
