Always a favorite! Awesome beer and appetizers. The bar is the perfect place to post up and watch a game. And the out door covered patio is always relaxing and fun with a group. Patio is dog friendly :)

This place is great! Very large brewery! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The beer selection is amazing too. Actual food is served which is delicious. One of the best things is that there is a baby changing table in the restroom. I can’t tell you how many breweries I’ve been too that don’t have a changing table. Love this place! Definitely coming back…

Asked how long of a wait, we were told 35 – 45 minutes and I was fine with that. Came back 45 minutes later and was told a table would be ready«real soon», we asked how long that would be and they wouldn’t say anything but«real soon». I really wouldn’t have minded had I not seen 4 open tables that would have fit us. The food was ok, nothing special.

Enjoyable but never seems to reach its potential I’m always impressed with the initial greeting and getting the orders in. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Add to that, you always get a visit from the owner to ensure everything is order. Great selection of beers and our waitress was very knowledgeable on the differences. Nice. Overall the food was okay, hence my comment about failing to reach its potential. The brisket was very tasty but a little chewy. The selection of sides is excellent. The sweet potato fries were okay. The fried green tomatoes and asparagus were excellent. We also had the baby side ribs which, like the brisket, tasty but definitely not«melt in the mouth» tender. So overall a good outing but there wasn’t any of the dishes that jumped out and said«come back» for another visit.

I love beer. The Amalgamator is pretty friggin’ amazing if you enjoy IPA’s. They have a huge selection with a handful of awarding winning beers so everyone gets something they love. Their fried green tomato sandwich was delicious. The significant other got the brisket sandwich that was pretty standard in his opinion. Definitely going back to grab a beer if I am in the area.

Meh. Pretty good beer, food falls short, super nice server. Stopped in for BBQ for lunch, started with deviled eggs that were missing something but not sure what that was. Like most of their items you could add some of their tasty mustard and cover up what’s not there. We shared a 3 item sampler with smoked chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. The smoked chicken was pretty good, the other two were lacking in the flavor dept. As were the blue cheese grits and brussels sprout slaw(also made better with the mustard). The fried green tomatoes are good, get them if you go. Overall there are probably better options for BBQ, good place to grab beers and fried green tomatoes.

Honestly, I’m not a fan of BBQ. at all. but Beachwood’s fried green tomato salad keeps me coming back time after time. It’s my absolute favorite thing on their menu. The fried pickles are pretty good too. I’ve been here several times, with several different groups, and each time the experience is different. Wait times always vary but we’ve never waited too too long to be seated and service has been consistently good.

I love Long Beach. Easy-breezy, never trying too hard. And if I had to name the perfect Long Beach restaurant, it would probably be Beachwood. For starters, the Beer Flights are awesome. That’s What She Said is my tagline so I had to try it. It’s a classic but a good one, and so is the LBCIPA. The Hop Vader and Wholly Smoke have some serious character. The bar bites are even better than the entrees. The Scotch Pickled Eggs are fun, and the Tater Tot Casserole is perfect with beer. The full slab of Baby Back Ribs was finger-lickin’ good, and I want some of whatever they’re smoking.

This is one the best breweries in the country. Yes I said it. If you love IPA’s, Sours or Stouts… This place is Mecca. I absolutely love this place. Located in downtown Long Beach with plenty of parking around it. It’s not free but nothing in life is free, right? The food is solid. Its BBQ and they have good variety of different dishes. Would this place stand alone if they didn’t have amazing beer? Probably not but again the food is good. Never been disappointed before. The real star is the beer. I guarantee there will be something for everybody here. They have 8 – 12 of their own beers on draft along with another 16 or so rotating taps. I can’t emphasis enough how good the beer is. Well worth the 50 minute drive to grab a beer and some food. I highly recommend this place. Try something new, say hi to the people sitting next to you at the bar, you’ll have a great time.

Came here on Saturday for an early lunch during Beach Streets! We rode our bicycles and didn’t have to pay for parking, so score! I’ve been hearing about the food and beers at Beachwood for so long, so I was excited to try it out. Our order included: –Smokehouse Burger with a side of green beans($ 13): This was my favorite thing! The patty was super flavorful and juicy! I would definitely order this again and recommend this to any first-timer! And those green beans! Holy mother! Delicious! Incredibly flavorful, in a ragout with bacon and onions. –Smoked Ham Sandwich with a side of French fries($ 13): This was pretty good. The smoking gives that ham incredible flavor, and it’s topped with brie and arugula, on a pretzel bun. Killer! French fries were skin on, natural cut, soft and salty! Great! –Two-Item Platter with Brisket and Smoked Chicken with sides of coleslaw and potato salad($ 21): We loved the smoked chicken! It’s a bone-in, skin-on thigh and leg, smoked to tender and juicy perfection. The only low point of our meal was the brisket. I am something of a snob when it comes to brisket, and the very best brisket always falls apart in your mouth. It is juicy, tender, and has a beautiful burnt rind to it. Not this version which had a strange dense texture, and was tough and flavorless. No one at our table cared for this item, but I’m glad we ordered it, so that we ate least know not to order it again. Both sides were decent. As for the beers, we were impressed with their selection of rotating craft taps. The gentlemen had flights of the house taps(Hop Vader, James, Thrillseeker, etc.) and they enjoyed them. I stuck to the Foam Top, which was creamy and just right for a Saturday afternoon. Overall, we are definitely fans and will return to Beachwood!

This place is pretty damn awesome. The beer selection is on point and the menu had a lot to choose from. I had the root vegetable salad and Woot Stout. Hubs had the choose 3 with the kale salad and corn. Both were awesome. The bbq(particularly the brisket) wasn’t the best we’ve had but was tasty, especially with the sauce selections. That’s the only reason I’m giving this spot 4 stars. We are totally spoiled by Lil Miss in Phoenix. Lastly the patio was great. Heaters were on, and they allow dogs. Loved it.

We made a stop here on a night of bar hopping. Their food smells really good, like Lucilles or Wood Ranch. Unfortunately, we were all too full from eating earlier, so we did not try the food. I am not a beer drinker, so I did not order anything, but my friends ordered beer. We sat outside around a fire pit and just hung out. It is a pretty chill place to sit around and hangout. I would definitely come here to try their BBQ since it smelled so good. Once I do try it, I’ll update you on how it tastes :)

Dropped in here with a few friends after reading about them being the number one brewery in an OC Weekly magazine article. I must agree, I loved the beers and their hilarious names! the food was amazing. I will definitely hit this place up again! Everyone in my group had different beer flights! We tried: Hayabusa — Excellent Japanese type beer That’s What She Said — Good CNTL+Malt+ Delete — Great Knucklehead Red — Awesome red Udder Love –Crowd favorite Hops of Fury — Awesome IPA The brisket and ribs were awesome tasting. Sides of spinach, corn on the cob and asparagus all really good. Good atmosphere — lots of tables and nice bar area. Highly recommend!

I only came in for drinks(only serve beer and wine)… For a Friday night beachwood bbq was a chill spot. The service was quick and there was ample seating. Since our party was only here for drinks the outdoor patio was available for sitting. They have those cool fire pits with the crystal rocks. Also, there’s lots of heaters outside to keep everyone warm. I ordered a flight of beer. 4−4oz tastings for $ 8. Great way to try some of the many beers they offer. All the beers I tried were tasty too. As we sat there by the fire pits, one server came by To check on us(which I thought was cool, cuz he didn’t have to) I really liked this joint and would recommend it for drinks.

I wanted to try Beachwood primarily to taste their beers. I’m into the whole craft beer craze and I’ve read several times that they brew the best beers in the LA/OC market and even considered one of the best beers in the country. The restaurant sits in a newly developed area of downtown Long Beach that looks to be focused on craft beers. It’s a great looking place with a nice outside patio area for those nice days. I ordered a beer sample flight of 4 of their highest award winning beers mixing a couple lighter beers with a couple darker stouts. They were all really good and enjoyed drinking them all. I ordered a second flight of all dark beers. I asked the waitress to pick a few of their best appetizers and bring them to us. We ended up getting fried pickles, sweet potato fries and their famous mac & cheese. The pickles were surprisingly good since I don’t normally like pickles on my food. The Mac & cheese was superb, my favorite thing I ate their that night. We ordered a few BBQ items to share for dinner and had brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, creamed spinach, smoked asparagus, vanilla pecan yams and blue cheese grits. Everything was great and the server very helpful and patient. I made the trip for the beers, but was pleased with the food as well. Hopefully I’ll be back the next time I’m in the LBC.

Fantastic selection of beers in a causal atmosphere. I frequented this place twice over the course of a weekend, and it happened to be sourfest. I’m personally not a huge fan of sour beers, but I did sample one that tasted like lychee, and one with coffee. Never gonna be my thing. My friends were all over the ‘hop ramen’ and everything IPA, while I stuck with the coffee stout. While I didn’t get the chance to eat here(other than a slice of cornbread), I did sneak a peek at the food coming out of the kitchen, and it looked pretty damn good. Huge patio, lots of seating, chill vibe.

This is a very cute BBQ spot in a great location. I love the bright sign placed at the entrance to the door. There is ample seating outside with heat lamps and a fire pit that unfortunately they could not find the key for us to enjoy it. It can get very windy outside, so I recommend a hat or beanie. We started off with the tator tot appetizer. It was okay but bland and the cheese stayed blobbed together in one spot instead of evenly dispersed throughout each tator. If it had a better dipping sauce instead of the gravy that came with it, that could of improved the dish. I had the brisket sandwich for my entrée. Once again, lacking in flavor for me. I tried one of the BBQ sauces with it and that helped a bit. The bun it was on I did not care for at all. It had some kind of seeds in it and I wish the menu had described that better because I would of got something else. I got potato salad for my side which was probably the most bland out of everything I had that night. I could not finish it. The cornbread was good. It had raisins in it which was something different.
