Avi’s Salon And Spa

This is a wonderful salon and welcomes quite a few folks who aren’t satisfied with (and ane still in sticker shock from) Joseph Cristopher. Avi’s prices are reasonable and he does a wonderful job on color, highlights, and cuts. If you get on his mailing list he regularly emails coupons as well. He does the highlights and color at the same time, reducing the total time investment by about half, which I love. He does a beautiful job and he’s always honest about how much color I need, sometimes recommending that I need less than I thought I would – which saves me money. There is a wonderful family atmosphere at the salon and usually on weekends his wife Kseniya is there too, doing manicures. I’m very impressed with Avi. I do NOT have any experience with others in the Salon. But Avi is wonderful. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I couldn’t find many reviews or pictures for this salon, so was weary about coming in. After waiting far too long to get my highlights done, I saw a groupon for Avi’s and decided to give it a try. Honestly — what a gem I found!
Avi has over 10+ years experience and is great with balancing advice for your face shape/​hair type, with what you want. I’m notorious for jumping from salon to salon but I think I’ve found a winner with Avi! I can’t speak to the other stylists (he is the owner) but Avi revived my dead limp hair and gave me great highlights as well. I typically don’t like the way my bangs fall when I get a blow out, but he did a great job on that as well! I walked out with a muchhh cheaper highlight/​haircut (thanks groupon!) and a new hair stylist right down the road.
I know places without reviews can be intimidating, but if you’re considering it — book an appt with Avi. He is GREAT

Got a Groupon deal for highlights and a cut, figured it couldn’t be that bad. When I asked for a low light the staff and owner didn’t seem to know what I meant or claimed I didn’t need it. When my hair was cut I asked for a trim so the girl trimmed my hair at the ends. When I asked her to trim my layers she said I didn’t have any layers. Umm really? I’ve had layers since I was 16, and I’m no hair expert but shouldn’t anyone who has gone to cosmetology school (OR IF YOU’RE A FEMALE) know what layers look like? My hair came out OK once she put the layers in that I never had? I was just baffled by the lack of knowledge/​experience with hair from more than one member of the staff. Second time I went back just because Avi’s is local and I was dying to get my hair trimmed and they obviously had appointments available. Worst decision ever. I didn’t notice it until later that my hair was extremely crooked. When the guy was finished with my cut he also left my hair wet in front of my face and said ok! Really? That’s the price you pay for going to a shitty place. TWICE. Pay the extra few bucks to get your hair did the right way. GIIIRLLLL
