George’s Hair & Nail Salon

The only reason to go here is convenience. Otherwise; George the owner is arrogant and most of his (not all) employees are unfriendly and bitchy. So, this has got to be the dirtiest & worst service establishment in long beach. The blow drys are for the most amateurish. It’s the most unwelcoming salon I have ever brought my business to. Avoid this clown car of a business unless it’s the only place opened when you need services.

Absolutely disgusting, dirty, NASTY!!! Can’t tell if it’s a hair or nail salon. Plus the receptionist is running around selling jewelry, ‘s arves, answering phones. Almost every piece of jewelry I purchased broke and I was told they were «handmade» by the receptionist until I brought back nearly everything and learned she had «a supplier.» So dissapointed because I just moved to the neighborhood. Uch, ugh, DON’T GO! AWFUL UNRELAXING, UPTIGHT ENVIRONMENT WITH EMPLOYEES SCREAMING AND YELLING AT EACH OTHER. George, the owner, is a miserable tyrant!

The lady’s who do your nails are great and friendly and the price for mani-​pedi is good 23 $ eye brow threading is cheap $ 7 and eye brow. This was my first time here and I will come back for a mani-​pedi. But the woman who I can only assume is the Georges mom is pushy and not gentle. She did my eye brow threading, eye lash and eye brow coloring. I told her I want black on my lashes and a dark brown on my eye brows. Instead o waiting for my pedicure to be done she does it while I’m in the pedicure chair. There was no reason she couldn’t wait but instead make me hold my body and head In a uncomfortable position. Next I go to do my manicure and that where she decided to do the tinting for my eye lashes and eye brows! Not professional at all and I was in such pain Bc no matter what when you get your lashes done it starts to burn your eye. She should have waited. Not only did she not ask or remember that I wanted a dark brown on my eye brows she started to put black on and still charged me for it. As soon as she started putting it on I said please make sure you don’t make my eye brows black «ohh you don’t want black on your brows, «…“okay I’ll wipe put it only and wipe it off your brows are already dark». WHAT!!! My eye brows are blonde and I get then dark brown all the time they are almost all the way faded she literally put the black on and took it off with in 10 seconds. It did not color my brows at all. And I will not be getting my eye brows or eye lashes done there again! Mani-​pedi sure they were great but I’m serious head my warning or you will pay for something you did not want. I should have listened to the post prior to mine !!

A-​OK sums it up!
Not overly friendly but I love the work they do on the gel manicure and I absolutely ADORE (and am reviewing more for) the tanning beds. They only have two but they are BRAND NEW AND STRONG TOP OF THE LINE MACHINES.
I like the eyelash extensions (although no matter WHERE you get them done they will destroy your real lashes; that is NOT their fault… they do an AMAZING JOB *if* you get Angela)
George is generous and will round your price down if you get a few services… it’s just brightly lit, no privacy, loud and like I said before not the friendliest at all.
I like it though for my gel mani, regular pedi and my tanning.
For waxing I use European Wax Center in O’side and for my hair I ONLY go to Madison Taylor in Garden City, NY. That’s my top picks and I’m INCREDIBLY picky about this stuff.
They DO sell fabulous products but watch the PRICES…

I was dining at Corson de Cuba restaurant. On my way out I noticed this salon was open and I wanted a quick blow out. I give them 3 stars because I liked the final look of my blow out. The stylish styled just how I wanted.
Entering the place I didn’t felt welcome. When i ask the just told me go to the back someone is washing your hair. I didnt see anybody in the back but i went. The shampoo lady was not gentle while washing my hair. She used a very small amount of conditioner and didn’t asked me if I wanted treatments or anything. My hair is very dry. She sat me to wait at a station.
In general the whole staff looked Unhappy. I saw nail techs using blades on people’s feet. That is not legal on nail salons.
I’ll come back for quick blow outs. That’s it. Need to improve customer service.

Previous reviews are right! No licenses visible. No tools have been sanitized from one client to the next. They don’t even wipe down the stations. The state board needs to visit this place ASAP!

If you value your health do not go to this place! Nothing is disinfected, sterilized or sanitized. There are no visible licenses in view & no prices listed. They change their prices as they see fit. This place violates every code in the book. The staff is rude & they do not treat customers with respect. This place is a fungus toe waiting to happen

I’ve been here a couple times, only because they offer threading in Long Beach. First time I went was ok, they missed spots, but I still tried them out again a couple of years later. That was the last. The customer service was not welcoming, the woman who did my threading was friendly, but she did SUCH an awful job. I went back to my car, looked in the mirror, and saw she missed a ton of hair and I was super annoyed. Won’t go back again, and I don’t recommend at all.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I just left there in tears. Instead of talking and greeting you when you walk in they just point and mumble. Then while getting my hair done the woman did not talk once instead to ask if I wanted my hair blown out. Which btw it is still soaking wet. They are horrible and rude. Place needs to be shut down or taken over by new owners who actually like their job and not just their money. Don’t worry I will be calling the owner later and telling him about my experience but I am sure he will not listen cause he already got my money. My family, friends, and myself will NEVER go to this place for a haircut, eyebrow thread, or nails. NEVER!
